L'observatoire est plutôt prévu pour voir des oiseaux mais on a quelquefois de belles surprises comme la visite de sangliers. Ce jeune est passé vraiment tout près et sans zoom j'ai dû me contenter de ne photographier que sa tête.

This week's theme for Macro Mondays is "Intended Contact"... and there is definitely intended contact when it comes to a predator and its prey! In this photo a Green Jumping Spider has captured and killed a Soldier Fly more than twice its size.
The new(er) and the old. Originally I intended to spend Saturday chasing the Iowa Northern, but seeing as the skies were beginning to open up I opted for LNM34 instead. Unfortunately I had to end the chase here as storm clouds lingered just to the South, but I walked away with a few bucklist shots checked off.
..I intend to suck it out of this one honey, yep, I intended contact here, no two ways about it;)
HMM flickr friends, may your week continue as you intended it to.

I had intended to go out to see if there were any birds around, when I came across a fire that had just started in the forest near the city outskirts. Sad to see this fire in Kenna Cartwright Park, such a beautiful park to hike and see wildlife bordering on the city. They say they are getting this one contained, but still, fire by the city. This year is projected to be exceptionally dry -- sigh.
Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington, shot with a manual focus Walimex 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens.
This lens is intended for APS-C cameras, on which it produces a rectangular image with fisheye distortion; the effect can be relatively subtle if you keep the lens horizontal.
On a full-frame camera like the R6, it's necessary to remove the lens hood otherwise it's visible in the image. Unfortunately, even without the hood the lens won't produce a fully circular image on a full-frame camera as parts of the circle fall outside the top and bottom of the sensor. There's also a strong blue tinge round the edges of the circle, which of course was never intended to be in the frame.

The New Church of Son Servera - Església Nova in Catalan- is an unfinished Neo-Gothic church in Son Servera, Mallorca, Spain, intended for Catholic worship and cultural activities.
The construction works began in 1905 by the architect Juan Rubió Bellver (1870-1952), collaborator of Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926), who was also in charge of finding the necessary financing. However, the works had to be suspended in 1929 due to economic problems. Subsequently, conservation works were carried out between 1994 and 1995 and various complementary works in 2007 and 2008.

A wheel is a circular component that is intended to rotate on an axle bearing. The wheel is one of the key components of the wheel and axle which is one of the six simple machines. Wheels, in conjunction with axles, allow heavy objects to be moved easily facilitating movement or transportation while supporting a load, or performing labor in machines. Wheels are also used for other purposes, such as a ship's wheel, steering wheel, potter's wheel, and flywheel.
Common examples can be found in transport applications. A wheel reduces friction by facilitating motion by rolling together with the use of axles. In order for wheels to rotate, a moment needs to be applied to the wheel about its axis, either by way of gravity or by the application of another external force or torque. Using the wheel, Sumerians invented a device that spins clay as a potter shapes it into the desired object.

White Sands Photography, captured not as as originally intended on a sunny day that turned into a sandstorm with heavy rains and lightning, inside which I found myself and spend more then two hours to get out of. Was huge mistake to not checking a weather alerts before going to sand dunes. Which I have seen after, weather alerts in the area, strong west wind advisory. Winds 30 to 40mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. When I got out of there I was very wet and tired, I had sand everywhere you could imagine. Even my camera stopped working. But before getting out of the storm, I managed to take some beautiful photos. In the same day i got a chance to photograph a beautiful sunrise and then sunny day, sand storm with rains and black sky, afterwards sky with rainbow and on the end epic sunset.
The Gravestenenbrug is a drawbridge, intended for pedestrians in the centre of the city of Haarlem. The current bridge dates from 1950 and served as a replacement for the bridge that had been here at the same place for about 600, and perhaps even 800 years.
The bridge connects the bank of the Korte Spaarne over the Binnen Spaarne with that of the Bakenessergracht.

Previously unpublished archive shot from April 2016. I opted for a square crop to get the symmetry in the background that made the composition sing for me.
I have broken my New Year's Resolution to take and publish at least one photograph per month in an attempt to rekindle my relationship with my camera this year. I have nothing for March I am sad to say. Last night I had intended to get out and capture the most spectacular stratified sunset sky on the beach but sadly my PTSD symptoms were too much for me.
Of course I am hoping to get back on track from April. Trying to convince myself that this is just a minor setback as opposed to a failure.
I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend and that you enjoy this square crop from my archives. Take care.
I hadn't intended to post this photo but given the Happy Caturday theme of "Touching" I decided to go ahead. This was taken after the decision had been made to euthanize Jimmy and we were waiting for the doctor to get the drugs. I knelt on the floor and touched Jimmy while he laid on the exam table and looked out the window. George took the photo.
Sorry about missing last Happy Caturday! My brother Doug and his Belgian Malinois Ember surprised us with a week-long visit. It was a whirlwind of fun but it's taken me the 5 days since he left to recover. Doug ran around to see as much as he could see - DC, Philly, Princeton, NYC - while George and I "dog sat" Ember. I ended up smitten with Ember but could not live long term with such an intense, strong dog.

We had intended own climbing Creise in November the previous year when we climbed the adjacent Meall a Bhuiridh, however much as the conditions appeared top notch to me Mark wasn't going too entertain a winter traverse of the ridge that links these two. For that reason wee came back the following summer, climbed Meall a Bhuiridh again and this time added on the out and back ascent of Crerise. Laura's gone off to her native Georgia, for a bit of vacation and family time.
So it's a good thing I went and shot her pretty much every week for the past month.
This was taken right after shooting with Carré (see Monday's post), where I noticed there was still some awesome light coming into the house from the sun, just as it was about to drop below the mountains.
I hadn't intended to take anymore shots, but when I saw the light....well, sheeit, I hear the music, I'm gonna dance.
I do believe I've fallen in love with light.
Where does one take light on a date?

The area that was to become West Palm Beach was settled in the late 1870s and 1880s by a few hundred settlers who called the vicinity "Lake Worth Country." These settlers were a diverse community from different parts of the United States and the world. They included founding families such at the Potters and the Lainharts, who would go on to become leading members of the business community in the fledgling city. The first white settlers in Palm Beach County lived around Lake Worth, then an enclosed freshwater lake, named for Colonel William Jenkins Worth, who had fought in the Second Seminole War in Florida in 1842. Most settlers engaged in the growing of tropical fruits and vegetables for shipment the north via Lake Worth and the Indian River. By 1890, the U.S. Census counted over 200 people settled along Lake Worth in the vicinity of what would become West Palm Beach. The area at this time also boasted a hotel, the "Cocoanut House", a church, and a post office. The city was platted by Henry Flagler as a community to house the servants working in the two grand hotels on the neighboring island of Palm Beach, across Lake Worth in 1893, coinciding with the arrival of the Florida East Coast railroad. Flagler paid two area settlers, Captain Porter and Louie Hillhouse, a combined sum of $45,000 for the original town site, stretching from Clear Lake to Lake Worth.
On November 5, 1894, 78 people met at the "Calaboose" (the first jail and police station located at Clematis St. and Poinsettia, now Dixie Hwy.) and passed the motion to incorporate the Town of West Palm Beach in what was then Dade County (now Miami-Dade County). This made West Palm Beach the first incorporated municipality in Dade County and in South Florida. The town council quickly addressed the building codes and the tents and shanties were replaced by brick, brick veneer, and stone buildings. The city grew steadily during the 1890s and the first two decades of the 20th century, most residents were engaged in the tourist industry and related services or winter vegetable market and tropical fruit trade. In 1909, Palm Beach County was formed by the Florida State Legislature and West Palm Beach became the county seat. In 1916, a new neo-classical courthouse was opened, which has been painstakingly restored back to its original condition, and is now used as the local history museum.
The city grew rapidly in the 1920s as part of the Florida land boom. The population of West Palm Beach quadrupled from 1920 to 1927, and all kinds of businesses and public services grew along with it. Many of the city's landmark structures and preserved neighborhoods were constructed during this period. Originally, Flagler intended for his Florida East Coast Railway to have its terminus in West Palm, but after the area experienced a deep freeze, he chose to extend the railroad to Miami instead.
The land boom was already faltering when city was devastated by the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane. The Depression years of the 1930s were a quiet time for the area, which saw slight population growth and property values lower than during the 1920s. The city only recovered with the onset of World War II, which saw the construction of Palm Beach Air Force Base, which brought thousands of military personnel to the city. The base was vital to the allied war effort, as it provided an excellent training facility and had unparalleled access to North Africa for a North American city. Also during World War II, German U-Boats sank dozens of merchant ships and oil tankers just off the coast of West Palm Beach. Nearby Palm Beach was under black out conditions to minimize night visibility to German U-boats.
The 1950s saw another boom in population, partly due to the return of many soldiers and airmen who had served in the vicinity during the war. Also, the advent of air conditioning encouraged growth, as year-round living in a tropical climate became more acceptable to northerners. West Palm Beach became the one of the nation's fastest growing metropolitan areas during the 1950s; the city's borders spread west of Military Trail and south to Lake Clarke Shores. However, many of the city's residents still lived within a narrow six-block wide strip from the south to north end. The neighborhoods were strictly segregated between White and African-American populations, a legacy that the city still struggles with today. The primary shopping district remained downtown, centered around Clematis Street.
In the 1960s, Palm Beach County's first enclosed shopping mall, the Palm Beach Mall, and an indoor arena were completed. These projects led to a brief revival for the city, but in the 1970s and 1980s crime continued to be a serious issue and suburban sprawl continued to drain resources and business away from the old downtown area. By the early 1990s there were very high vacancy rates downtown, and serious levels of urban blight.
Since the 1990s, developments such as CityPlace and the preservation and renovation of 1920s architecture in the nightlife hub of Clematis Street have seen a downtown resurgence in the entertainment and shopping district. The city has also placed emphasis on neighborhood development and revitalization, in historic districts such as Northwood, Flamingo Park, and El Cid. Some neighborhoods still struggle with blight and crime, as well as lowered property values caused by the Great Recession, which hit the region particularly hard. Since the recovery, multiple new developments have been completed. The Palm Beach Mall, located at the Interstate 95/Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard interchange became abandoned as downtown revitalized - the very mall that initiated the original abandonment of the downtown. The mall was then redeveloped into the Palm Beach Fashion Outlets in February 2014. A station for All Aboard Florida, a high speed passenger rail service serving Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, is under construction as of July 2015.

Hi,
This is my submission for Macro Monday November 5th - theme "Intended Contact". I don't think I have to describe this shot - just my door lock shot with a off camera flash and camera on a tripod.
Hope you like it
Although I intended my 800mm lens mostly for wildlife, it does well on other scenes as well. This busy little scene is part of the main harbour at Portland in Victoria. Taken from a high viewpoint near the Portland hospital looking around 500 metres across the harbour to the fishing boats. View large for lots of variety and detail to look at.
What was intended to an astrophotography focused camping trip with clear skies instead turned into variable and wet weather. Using the telephoto to isolate interesting bands of light and dark over Mono Lake, I processed as a high contrast, monochrome image to bring out the drama and dark mood of this scene.
When I started imaging this I had intended to do a 2 or 3 pane mosaic but the awful weather this month has led me to process on it's own. Looking back at my previous attempts at this I conclude that the 10 minute Ha exposures are making a big difference. Also the PHD2 software is performing much better for me than the original ever did.

Waterfilm is a series filmed since 2012 based on the idea of filming with a freehand camera for a period of exactly one minute.this series illustrates the meditative qualities of water in an urban environment It is my belief that the close observation of this essential element has the ability to influence our perceptions. Each film is intended to be a short meditation – take your time to feel it, but don’t swim away too far...

I never intended going up here, I'd left my wife sat in the car while I popped out to get some photo's of the Roman Fort.. the light was poor, so I thought I'd try for a higher a view, next thing I knew, I was up at the top.. This is where I have to confess that I thought I was on Hard Knott's summit. Only when I got home and was looking on a map to see where the path was up to the summit, that I realised it was Border End summit, Hard Knott's summit was only a short distance away.
If the weather hadn't have been so poor, I probably would have had a roam about. As it was, I could see rain getting nearer and my wife was sat below waiting for me.. :-)
I intended to photograph an evil spider living in our bathroom, but it wasn't obliging, so I had to photograph this little fellow instead. I'm quite happy with it, considering I was using on-camera flash. I will capture the elusive evil spider one day!

This is a dish of Halo Top Rainbow Swirl ice cream with two Kit Kat bars added for good measure. One of my lovely silver spoons just digging in making contact with the multi-colored flavors. HMM, everyone ! !
Was intended to be wielded by CSC-3 Black Edition (he's black-gray now, not black-yellow as before; his W.I.P. lies in the background of the pic.) in one of his equipments loads (he's gonna have several ones), but I'm not sure about it yet. Maybe, I'll save this concept and make a wingy guy, that will have a possibility to merge his wings as shield, kinda (since this shield, basically, looks like folded wings).
Okay, the last shot was intended to be the last WIP, but the responses I got on it were... mixed. Apparently I didn't quite make it clear what I was still working on. And of course there was the issue of the mask.
So, this update was about color and filling gaps. I added a few more highlights of blue and yellow and did a lot of work in the chest area. I'm still not quite happy with it, but this is the best version I've come up with so far. The lower arms are still very rough and liable to change, and I will probably put more color into them. I also gave her a weapon and a stand.
Now, the big question? Which mask do you honestly prefer? Because I still think Tanma's mask is best, but I thought I'd try a few alternates to satisfy those that didn't approve of it.
