Yoga instructor training do you good just as taking simple yoga courses does. Here are some of them.
LCC welding instructor David Pittsley and welding student Mark Speranza, together designed a 10-foot-tall metal sculpture for display in downtown Longview as part of the Longview Outdoor Gallery.
David and Mark worked together to install the art sculpture, titled "Building America."
A ceremony was held on February 23, in front of a gathering of LCC staff and faculty, community members, city leaders along with friends and family of the welders.
The sculpture is located near the corner of Commerce and Vandercook and will be on display for one year.
Milton Pitts Crenchaw, of the original Tuskegee Airmen, spoke on his experiences as one of Arkansas' first African American aviators and flight instructors with the original Tuskegee Airmen at Alabama's Tuskegee Institute.
His lecture took place on Thursday, Nov. 3 from 12-1:30 p.m. in the Ida Waldran Auditorium on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas. This event is free and open to the public. It is hosted by UCA's History Department.
Crenchaw was the first African American from Arkansas and one of the first in the country to be trained by the federal government as a civilian licensed pilot. He trained hundreds of cadet pilots while at Alabama's Tuskegee Institute in the 1940s.
