From the wartime scrapbook of a US Army Aviation Section flight instructor during the First World War.
This letter of reference was requested ahead of his marriage. Also enclosed was a copy of the cover letter accompanying this reference and a personal letter to Lt. Johnson.
Transcription:
July 10, 1918.
Lieutenant McGill,
Engineering Building,
Kelly Field #2,
San Antonio, Texas.
Dear Sir:
I take great pleasure in testifying to the good moral character and integrity of Lieutenant George T. Johnson, and also, have intimately known his parents and associates, and could not speak too highly of him. He is a young man of exemplary habits and as clean morally as any young man I have ever known or ever expect to become acquainted with.
I have boys of my own and if they grow up to manhood as clean, honorable and efficient in all ways as Mr. Johnson, I will certainly feel proud of them.
He has had a high school education with a year or two in college in the east, and a couple of years in the School of Mines, and has always been at the top of his class. In all of his undertakings he has always made a good record and discharged such duties as were his, in a manner that was satisfactory to his employers or his tutors.
He is absolutely without fear, and in the branch of the service to which he has been assigned, I am confident, he will acquit himself with great credit to himself, and in a perfectly satisfactory manner to his superiors.
I cannot speak too highly of his parents. They are warm personal friends of mine, and I know he has had the training of a Christian father and mother.
It certainly is obvious to anyone, that, as he has completed the course in aviation so quickly, been given his commission, and assigned to duty in this difficult branch, that he will be a valuable acquisition to his Uncle Samuel. I am also confident that his rise in the work he has undertaken will be rapid, and that his superiors will find he is a born leader.

Instructor Rolan is an instructor from Trinidad. He accompanied Professor Don Jacob to conduct the grading exercise.
It was a great time for me in every way. Finally getting to meet a long-time facebook friend for the first time. It happened to be his first time out of his country, while it so happened that I also moved out of my original country.

Three chefs were our instructors, one for each course. We were divided into teams of three; I was on the team with the fellow on right, with his hand raised. He was a good teacher and I really enjoyed being on his team.

Yoga instructor training do you good just as taking simple yoga courses does. Here are some of them.
