I was looking at the new bloom of my hydrangea, that I noticed such crawling inside of it. Of course, it wasn't easy to photography it in a shady spot. This was my at least 10 trials to get a decent shot. :-))
PS: In Shaoli Kung Fu (少林功夫螳螂弓 步) there is a movement is named after this insect's posture, according to my daughter's Shi fu (her real Shaoli kung fu instructor in NYC).

When I took this photo and others, I was still sitting on a bench on the school grounds.
What I didn't know was that I was under video surveillance.
After 12 minutes, the security guard arrived and kindly asked me to leave the school grounds.

Busy times at Leeuwarden. A Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) was held and this week was the grand finale. 35 different jets flew, most of them twice.
Runway 23 was in use. To avoid the town of Marsum, all aircraft bank right immediately after take-off and then left again. This produces many nice top views. I'm sure some pilots show off to please the photographers and bank a little more.
Today 5 Tornados flew plus 7 German EF2000s, 10 Belgian F-16s, 5 Norwegian F-35s, 5 Dutch F-16s and 3 Dutch F-35s.

Instructor in "T-bird" watching over a couple of new VMAT-203 Harrier pilots about to refuel from a VMGR-252 KC-130J.
The Italians did well to show as many aircraft types as possible that had served their air force at their centenary air show held in 2023.
However, in the case of the Macchi M.416, despite 180 being built, the only survivor appears to be a static exhibit inside the national museum at Vigna di Valle. Fortunately, that Macchi was a licence built Fokker S-11 Instructor, of which there are airworthy examples.
In full Royal Dutch Air Force livery, wearing the serial E-14, is PH-AFS which is based at Lelystad.

A lone Drill Instructor walks the long hallway at MCRD, San Diego.
This hallway is 1/2 mile long. It spans the length of the parade deck plus the parking lots on either side. This is just half of it.
A drill instructor from Marine Corps Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale corrects a future Marine during the annual field meet April 20, 2013. Hundreds of future Marines participated in various Marine Corps inspired competitions like squad pull ups, crunches and a knowledge test designed to give them a taste of boot camp.

Instructor and students viewing Valeda, the famous Transparent Talking Lady who is the star attraction at the Kansas Health Museum. Created by a medical artist in Cologne, Germany, Valeda is a life size plexiglass figure whose organs light up one by one as she herself tells the wonderful story of how they work.

Wait.
This is not a mistake.
Nor is this a weird attempt at a psychedelic 60s image.
This is my grandchild. He is 7 years old. And he is acutely autistic.
He resides in a different world from most of us, on an entirely different level of the spectrum, if you will.
While most of us exist at about 5200 on the Kelvin scale, he floats up around 8000K, in the indigo stratum.
He doesn't hold conversations, because he can only utter a few words. And those, sporadically.
He makes funny faces, especially in front of a mirror or in front of my camera.
He loves popcorn, he loves Veggie Tales, and he loves to draw.
He has trouble making eye contact, but when he does, those enigmatic eyes bore deeply, however fleeting.
Yet one thing is true -- the briefest glimpse from this indigo child is worth a century of concerted stares.
This image is no mistake, and neither is he.
Happy 7th birthday, Lael. You are loved.

Three Württemberger instructors pose with their students - 8 men from Badisches Pionier-Bataillon Nr. 14. The mixture of Pickelhauben and Stahlhelme tells us this photograph was taken sometime around early to mid 1916, when the Stahlhelm was replacing the obsolete spiked helmet.
Pioniere were trained in assaulting fortified positions with explosives, hand-grenades and trench mortars as depicted here.

A large group of people were learning salsa at Sergels torg as I happened to pass by a couple of warm days ago.
Meet Lainey: Elaine (aka Lainey) has recently arrived from England and is a yoga instructor. She is my first (and only) indeed 'ultimate posable Barbie/fashion doll'. This beauty was a surprise from my dear collector friend xlaineyx, who lives in UK and I totally freaked out when I saw the doll.
