Polaroid 800 w/ BC flash, diffuser, "Biflex" half frame adapter, hand strap and original 1950's advertising pamphlets

Converted to take Type 100 film (Fuji FP-100C and FP-3000B)

Behold one of Polaroid's most beautiful cameras. Introduced in 1957, over 500 000 model 800 cameras were sold. The Model 800 was very successful, no doubt partly due to its incredible looks, the epitome of 50's styling.

This camera is fitted with a CB-100 Polaroid film back, allowing it to take Type 100 film, which is still made by Fuji today. The CB-100 back was modified to use a new set of latches, allowing the camera's body to be as original as possible, without the need to cut into major parts of the body and the viewfinder assembly. This mod means the camera is now compatible with Fuji FP-100C and Fuji FP-3000B films.

This camera comes with a rare "Polaflex" "Biflex" accessory. This little device, when fitted over the lens, turns the 800 into a half frame camera. The Biflex effectively blocks half of the film frame at a time, allowing you to take two photos on one shot of film. Simply take a photo with the Biflex attached, then flip the lever and take a second shot. This means you can effectively take 20 different photos with one pack of film.

Features:

- rangefinder focusing

- glass lens

- shutter system that uses EV scales for easy metering (each EV value on the camera selects an aperture and shutter speed for you)

- takes instant photos

- hot shoe mount for flash

- hand strap

- tripod sockets in both portrait and landscape orientation

- electronic development timer (to time how long your film has to develop)

This camera is perfect for anyone wanting manual control over their photos, or who wants to try their luck at night time long exposures. Unlike the Automatic Land Cameras, this camera lets you control different EV values on the shutter, as well as bulb mode, which gives you much more control over exposure.

...I got a polaroid camera for the wedding and I think it was one of the best things I did...everyone loved it...everyone wanted to have their picture taken and then we hung all the pictures of the day on some gray twine with tiny black clothes pins so everyone could look at them...I know I had a few people take some....shame on you...LOL.... I was able to have them scanned without damaging them so I will get them printed for the thankyou notes....

I bought this on a rainy day after school.

I kind of starved myself that day, so I

decided to buy this huge bowl of instant ramen.

It wasn't too good nor too bad.

It was alright.

I couldn't finish it.

this is the second testshoot to check the deep in field sharpness. First shoot failed, because the exposure time don´t pass (4 seconds)

Are you lacking the presence of Alf, the cat-eating alien sitcom star from the 80s, in your life? Don't fret - this is an instant collection of Alf figurines that were made for Wendy's that will make you the envy of all the kids on your block. All the kids that grew up in the 80s, that is.

The collection includes Alf in the following costumes: bricklayer, Robin Hood, Little Red Riding Hood, a suit of armor, in a Shakespearian-style outfit with a rose, and riding a magic carpet.

These figurines are all in good vintage condition with no scratches, marks, or discoloration.

Instant Reborn event started 2 days ago and quite a crowd gathered on this sunny Saturday afternoon in the store. I felt happy seeing familiar faces who were in our event 2 years ago, lingering around chit chatting with each other.

Interestingly camera people usually have quite decent stamping etiquette, not like those who make quite a mess stamping on the table and wasting so much postcards without reading instructions on the how-to.

The passport book is so much fun and from what I heard, many like the idea and decided to own one at HK$25.

Polaroid collector TM refurbished some 636 cameras and painted them black and white, added "Instant Reborn" face plates, there you go, a limited edition "Instant Reborn" camera for the event, at this stage only 10 pieces are available. A leather/camera/watch fanatic Jemmer helped to add a leather strap too. It also came with a nice cotton bag and is sold at HK$1395 with a free pack of PX-600 film.

I did sold an SX-70 and a few pack of films myself today to a lady who is going to give this as a gift to her husband. I forgot to ask her to take a picture with Dr. Land though, people from the community did this naturally and one of them looks very much alike Dr. Land :)

BTW, Mijonju came all the way from Tokyo to this event, I bet he will be having a lot of fun going through TM's camera collections tomorrow in a private appointment.

Although the exhibiting items are not as jam packed as in 2008, we do have some polaroid T-shirts, poster, SX-70 shutter button, straps, etc for sale. I wish I could have more time to create better contents, but the not so stable PX films did gave me a few hiccups. Anyway, I'm glad we have good support from the community, I can't wait for next week's talk in City University.

I will be updating more photos of this event to the Flickr set Instant Reborn 2010, stay tuned.

The other day I bought some instant noodles from my local Thai/Far East Supermarket.

As I was alone at home and feeling lazy to cook, I just tried the spicy Thai rice noodles. They were pretty good, I mean, for instant food.

Instant NiMH. 2nd gen, much like Eneloop but cheaper.

A got a box of 20 shots of Polaroid Type 53 as I ended up with a 545 holder that was included in a bunch of 4x5 sheet film holders. Only mod the Harman Titan Pinhole needed was to slacken off the screws on the holder springs. Bit disappointed in the cheap nasty screws they used. Stainless might have been nicer than these soft metal jobs.
