I have been working on an installation for the past two days. It has to due with the idea that our world has many doors to be opened and closed. We commonly have the keys to open those doors but sometimes we need to find another way to open them or find another path. For being my first installation ever i am quite happy with how it all turned out, i learned and found out some things about my own art.
I just wanna be home now. Tomorrow i will FINALLY be home. the last two weeks have been full of all little sleep and much stress. It was insane, now its over and i just wanna be home with my Kit and my family.

An installation by artist Vennila nr Kain
To mark the third anniversary of the official declaration of the War on Iraq, artist Vennila nr Kain sets up her prayer flags (for peace) in Times Square.
The installation is a delicate network of crisscrossed prayer flags similar to the Tibetan prayers flags strung over sacred spaces. The wind carries up the prayers from the flags to the realm of gods, or as blessings over land.
In this case, the artist uses weathered images of fallen soldiers as her prayer flags so that their lives (and death) may bring about the possibility of peace over land. Spread amidst the prayer flags of images of dead soldiers are four numerals corresponding to the current American death toll in Iraq.
The floor is littered with shredded pure white paper symbolizing the silent and unknown numbers of Iraqi men, women & children and other incidental human cost of war such as contractors and security guards, many of whom are hired from third world nations of this world.
The entire process of the installation, from conception to preparation to execution is done very much with the lineage of prayer flags and the war dead in mind, and hence in a prayerful, pacifist, mindful, meditative manner while softly chanting for healing and peace.
This window installation is part of the ongoing series of ‘being peace’ art created by the artist Vennila nr Kain. The series began with the living art installation "Send A Salami To Your Boy In The Army" incorporating aspects of ritual fasting, mourning & meditation for two weeks in January 2004.
Vennila nr Kain is an actor, poet, yogini, performance artist, humbly committed to the Gandhian philosophy of being the change she wants to see in the world. She may be found at www.vennila.net

As a part of the Malahat Safety Improvements, barriers were recently installed along sections of the Malahat on the Trans Canada Highway. Five sections of new concrete median barrier, totalling 5.4 km, will be added to the Malahat by spring 2013. When complete, over 40 per cent of the Malahat corridor will be separated with median barrier.
The installation of this section of median barrier will cost approximately $250,000. This is part of the government of British Columbia’s $8 million commitment to additional concrete median barrier and other safety improvements on the Malahat.

Breheimsenteret is now in full action again after it was totally destroyed in fire in 2011. The centre was reconstructed with the original architecture, but some interior changes were made to meet new needs.
The exhibition space was enlarged and Gagarin was hired to supply new interactive solutions. We delivered three unique installations where we among other things had to cross new boundaries in terms of interaction and technique.
