"All that happens means something; nothing you do is ever insignificant." Aldous Huxley

In Eisenstadt, the capital of the Austrian federal state of Burgenland. With 301,311 inhabitants, this state is the least populous in Austria, and the small capital has only 15,729 inhabitants. This insignificant town belongs to the commuter area of Vienna, which is about 55 km away.

However, the Social Democratic governor of this tiny state, Hans Peter Doskozil, likes to show off and pretend that his state is of any importance. In this way, he has completely confused the Social Democratic Party of all of Austria.

Sun is flooding puny Earth, a random place somewhere on the break of morning. Insignificant amount of star light makes everything grow in golden, soft and warm. Few moments of amazing sight, before it vanishes in diffusion. It will come again and again, billions of morning starlights yet to come...

“To hear never-heard sounds,

To see never-seen colors and shapes,

To try to understand the imperceptible

Power pervading the world;

To fly and find pure ethereal substances

That are not of matter

But of that invisible soul pervading reality.

To hear another soul and to whisper to another soul;

To be a lantern in the darkness

Or an umbrella in a stormy day;

To feel much more than know.

To be the eyes of an eagle, slope of a mountain;

To be a wave understanding the influence of the moon;

To be a tree and read the memory of the leaves;

To be an insignificant pedestrian on the streets

Of crazy cities watching, watching, and watching.

To be a smile on the face of a woman

And shine in her memory

As a moment saved without planning.”

Cornus kousa, commonly called Kousa dogwood, is a small, deciduous flowering tree or multi-stemmed shrub that typically grows 15-30’ tall, with a vase-shaped habit in the early years but eventually maturing to a more rounded form. Bloom occurs in late spring. The showy parts of the Kousa dogwood “flower” (3-5” across) are the four narrowly pointed petal-like white bracts which surround the center cluster of insignificant, yellowish-green, true flowers. Flowers are followed by berry-like fruits (to 1” diameter) which mature to a pinkish red in summer and persist into fall. Fruits are technically edible, but are usually left for the birds. Oval, pointed leaves (to 4” long) are dark green, but usually turns attractive shades of reddish-purple to scarlet in autumn. Mottled, exfoliating, tan and gray bark on mature trees is attractive in winter. [...].

‘Satomi’Flower bracts vary in color intensity from light pink to deep pink to rose pink depending on a number of factors including landscape placement, cultural conditions and geography. Abundant flowering occurs in June. Deep green foliage turns attractive shades of red in autumn. Red fruits in autumn are attractive but not very tasty. [...].

[In summary]: Pink flowers in Spring, red fall fruit and purplish-red fall foliage color make this cultivar stunning. MBG

I had already found that it was not good to be alone, and so made companionship with what there was around me, sometimes with the universe and sometimes with my own insignificant self.

The leaves of "Salsa Begonia" look almost as if they are painted with red and cream tones. The blossoms are insignificant, but the leaves bring life to a dull winter's day. This particular leaf (still on the plant) is approximately 3" (8 cm) long and 2" wide (5 cm).

The paper train makes it's way through the beautiful Derwent Valley on it's way from Boyer to Burnie with it's loading of paper products. Despite their great power and modern design the leading TR Locomotives TR05 + TR13 with their loading, full of paper products bound for Burnie, look rather insignificant within the landscape with their train number 5-32 as it wends it's way through it's huge and picturesque surroundings, following the Derwent River towards Bridgewater Junction and then join the Main Southern Line Northbound.

In the midst of so much chatter, banalities and insignificant sounds, there are few words we exchange every day. Maybe we fall in love to really start talking.

The Way You Say Goodbye - Jack Savoretti

The room was dark and filled with memories of all kinds that he had gathered over the years. They were found here and there on the floor, hung on walls or simply displayed on high shelves. Some of them became insignificant, but were piled up proudly in such a way that would make the Pisa Tower blush.

The important things though, they were displayed like trophies bathed in light on wood stands. Their owner, he gave special attention to them and made sure to dust them off as often as possible. He loved these relics dearly and took very good care of them. He would observe them with the highest scrutiny - bent over each and every one of these precious artifacts from his past, hands joined behind his back, his chin hovered above them. He took such pleasure as he looked at these souvenirs up close, his round glasses rested on the tip of his nose as he tried to accurately recall each sensation the memory brought back to him. The emotions, the laughter, the frivolity, but also the sadness, the sorrow and the pain.

" - One has to look very closely into the past to understand where the future is taking them, doesn't it ?" he whispered to his treasures in a low, playful tone - always aware that no answer would ever be heard.

This text is an abstract of a beautiful long story written by Lya Seerose and translated from French by Oceane and myself.

The whole story shows how the future and present is incredibly positive and beautiful as long as you reflect on the past, not with regrets or negativity but by embracing each an every souvenir and decision. May it be pain, sadness or joy, they all design your present moves and the ones to come.

I can't thank her enough for her amazing insight, a very mature and positive outlook at life. We need more people like her around to spread the light...

A huge thank you to you Lya for picking THE perfect song for this picture taken months ago now...

The surface of the lake shimmered with silvery ripples, carrying the fallen leaves to the shore. In that meeting between water and autumn, where the world seems to stand still, holding its breath in the face of such beauty. These moments, insignificant to many, are what inspire me to continue cultivating faith and hope. (HSS)

More view from walking in Ynys.

Ynys Gifftan is an island near the south east shore of Traeth Bach, the Dwyryd estuary near Portmeirion in Gwynedd, north Wales.

A short walk exploring the tidal island at the edge of Snowdonia

Overlooked by the Moelwyn Mountains that stand just in front of Snowdon, and the Rhinogs to the south east, the small island of Ynys Gifftan is a distinctive and unique feature of the Dwyryd Estuary.

Look across the estuary at high tide and Ynys Gifftan may seem insignificant, unworthy of exploration and impossible to visit without a boat. But visitors prepared to roll their trousers up can be rewarded with an adventure unlike any other.

This short walk to the tidal island at the foot of Snowdonia is particularly enjoyable in the summer months, when waters have absorbed the heat of the sun.

The Crocosmia leaf that I'd normally just pass over but I like it after I curled it in on itself.

“Hemos averiguado que vivimos en un insignificante planeta, de una triste estrella perdida, en una galaxia metida en una esquina olvidada de un universo, en el cual hay muchas mas galaxias que personas.”

Carl Sagan

When we look up, it widens our horizons. We see what a little speck we are in the universe, so insignificant, and we all take ourselves so seriously, but in the sky, there are no boundaries.

On an insignificant shore during,

An insignificant afternoon,

A moment of pause within a frenzied day,

On this plinth I rest with you.

After all the climbing efforts to capture,

An elusive view of that starfish,

You speak of the beauty around us,

This is it, the sense of place.

Here, I find.

NOT A.I.

I suppose it's perspective, but any problems I thought I had seemed somewhat insignificant out here.

……I smiled as I was processing this image - how tiny and insignificant ‘man’ is compared to this wonderful vista! there are two chaps amongst the boats on the jetty that I didn’t see at first! Mid’ left is Derwent Isle with its boat house(s) and over on the far shore is the Lingholm estate - you can rent that boathouse, a one bed apartment that’s very popular, in fact it seems to be fully booked this year & next but with a few spaces left in May 2023 - £1540 for three night! (I think we’re elsewhere that week unfortunately😊) see link below.…..

The tiny, insignificant flowers of the Cursed Crowfoot attracted my attention when I saw a solitary plant growing in the shallow water of the marsh. As I walked further, I came across this mass of plants that crowded out any other type of plant. The tiny flowers had become members of a powerful stand of poisonous plants that could repel sleeveless "interlopers", as they may cause rashes or blistering when they contact bare skin.

In these tumultuous times, perhaps Mother Nature is sending a message (or at least an example.)

Up close and personal with Scaleber Waterfall. Time is insignificant in its hypnotic flow.

Sheep's climbing the mountains in Fagaras Massif, Romania. The peak looks like is overwhelmed by nearby relief and the sheep's are are almost insignificant in the peak.

This photo shows the two kinds of flowers, one large and showy, the other small and seemingly insignificant, found on hydrangea plants. Both kinds are beautiful.

Thank you for looking. Isn't God a great artist?
