“Playing Catch, Giving and Receiving”
You are invited to play catch with my prints. Two dimensional prints that hang on the wall are transformed into three dimensional balls, a form of sculpture that is also performance and participatory.
Playing catch is a common past time that's relaxing and connecting. It is an act of giving (throwing) and receiving (catching) involving a ball, and, in this case, prints transformed into a ball (sculpture).
Instead of viewing the stationary print on a wall or a sculpture on the floor, it is viewed moving through time and space, dependent on the participants and their actions.
It is visual, transformative, therapeutic, sharing, interactive, and connecting, simple and playful actions of giving and receiving.

“Walking the Path, Prints on Prints”
You are invited to walk on my prints, using them as a path.
It’s another way of experiencing art like a stepping stone meditation,
a different awareness may take place on an intentional walk, slower,
deliberate, a winding pathway, your prints touching these prints.
You become, in a way, the performer, the participant, the collaborator,
your soles connecting and becoming a part of these prints, adding steps,
humbling, engaging, liberating, creating another connection.
The title of this series is: "Paper Trail, A4 (All Over the Place)" from "The Quiet and Ugly Artist (Hanoi, 1965-2015)". These prints are collages made from my daily life in Hanoi -- collections of receipts, maps, brochures, business cards, food wrappers and waste.
They are my journal, a record of my consumption and daily activities, stamped with symbols that reflect my connection with Hanoi. They are painted over,
fragments remain revealed, information becomes cloudy, is lost and buried, like memory and history.
I created these collages during my artist-in-residency in Hanoi from
February 6, 2015 to October 26, 2015.
Walking is an important part of my art residencies. I document a familiar route in the community I’m living in by walking slowly, taking photos, and picking up “treasures”.

No idea what this is called, i basically pointed the 135L towards the busiest part of the milky way. 35 shots @3 seconds F/2 @ISO 3200 stacked using deepskystacker and n00b tweaked in photoshop. I'm sure there is more to be pulled from the image but I'm not very good at the stack program or editing these types of images. At 3 seconds there is some streaking I need to shorten shutter a bit next time.

Landscape After the Storm
When one of these Mesocylcones moves over you, the understanding of how insignificant our concerns are compared to the scale of a storm such as this. This storm was 80 miles to our north and certainly covered parts of 3 states. I’m taking the photo from Wyoming looking northeast toward Ekalaka Montana not far from the triple border area of Montana/South Dakota/North Dakota.. That is very close to the exact geographic center of the North American Continent coincidentally.🤔 (Factoid out of the blue).
I had followed this storm around a while working the light here just as the last gasps of the light of day skiffs off the hill tops. A complex cloud system 360 degrees surrounding me made for an interesting evening. Focusing here on the “backshow” of the main show over my left shoulder. Looking here to the northeast near Rockypoint Wyoming. I’m pretty sure a lot of people saw this show about 10 days before this posts. My current time from click to publishing is around that interval this summer.
I photograph a lot of weather systems these days. I couldn’t ask for a better time of day with the lighting that night. Note the top of the storm is white with blue sky. That is unfiltered light. The lower part of the storm is illuminated by the same red light skiffing off the hilltops. The late “Golden Hour” red colorcast is related to the “Belt of Venus” alpenglow colors but the cloud is the projecting screen. In true “Belt of Venus” colorcast the projector screen is ice in the atmosphere not clouds. It’s the same type of light though, all filtered of it’s shorter wavelengths of indio blue and green. Only orange through red survive to be reflected to my lenses. The colors here are true to the scene I saw. It got a LOT redder later in this timeline. The lower in the cloud, the longer through the atmosphere the light had to travel. Stay tuned for those later images. Brilliant orange stuff… 📷

The climbers looked so insignificant against the massive scale of the mountains. This image is looking across the Chamonix Alps towards the Grand Combin, with The Matterhorn (far centre) peeping out from it,s right hand edge.
Pretty a boring sight to see a coke bottle floating around, but i wonder how many of those are there at the very minute floating around, causing a lot of damage maybe..??
Kinda reminds me of us humans, very small and insignificant compared to the world, but causing such huge damage.. what if we can join in to turn it the other way around?? I am sure it can change a lot..

“Playing Catch, Giving and Receiving”
You are invited to play catch with my prints. Two dimensional prints that hang on the wall are transformed into three dimensional balls, a form of sculpture that is also performance and participatory.
Playing catch is a common past time that's relaxing and connecting. It is an act of giving (throwing) and receiving (catching) involving a ball, and, in this case, prints transformed into a ball (sculpture).
Instead of viewing the stationary print on a wall or a sculpture on the floor, it is viewed moving through time and space, dependent on the participants and their actions.
It is visual, transformative, therapeutic, sharing, interactive, and connecting, simple and playful actions of giving and receiving.

“Walking the Path, Prints on Prints”
You are invited to walk on my prints, using them as a path.
It’s another way of experiencing art like a stepping stone meditation,
a different awareness may take place on an intentional walk, slower,
deliberate, a winding pathway, your prints touching these prints.
You become, in a way, the performer, the participant, the collaborator,
your soles connecting and becoming a part of these prints, adding steps,
humbling, engaging, liberating, creating another connection.
The title of this series is: "Paper Trail, A4 (All Over the Place)" from "The Quiet and Ugly Artist (Hanoi, 1965-2015)". These prints are collages made from my daily life in Hanoi -- collections of receipts, maps, brochures, business cards, food wrappers and waste.
They are my journal, a record of my consumption and daily activities, stamped with symbols that reflect my connection with Hanoi. They are painted over,
fragments remain revealed, information becomes cloudy, is lost and buried, like memory and history.
I created these collages during my artist-in-residency in Hanoi from
February 6, 2015 to October 26, 2015.
Walking is an important part of my art residencies. I document a familiar route in the community I’m living in by walking slowly, taking photos, and picking up “treasures”.

“The Insignificant is Significant”, A Library and Art Installation, a continuation of the series, “The Quiet and Ugly Artist (Hanoi, 1965-2015)”.
Since 2009, Daniel Kerkhoff, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A., has been creating his own artist-in-residencies in communities in Ghana, Ecuador, and Vietnam.
Embedding himself in a community, he develops multiple connections through creating art (installations), writing poetic journals, making art with children, curating exhibitions, working with artists, assisting art libraries and community libraries, documenting walks and the community, and just being a part of everyday life.
Along with painting, collage, art installations, photography, and writing, his art practice involves connecting, sharing, and weaving people and places.

The flowers are insignificant but the fruit has a colourful wing varying from pink to cream. Growing on the roadside of the Eudunda to Morgan road, South Australia.
Ginkgo biloba 'Troll' () 2019 photo - Common Name: Dwarf Ginkgo, Size: 3x3ft., Green Foliage, Insignificant flower, USDA Hardiness Zone 4-10, In Garden Bed D0 for 0 DAYS (Duva). Planted in 2019.
Missouri Botanical Garden: ‘Troll’ is a dwarf shrubby cultivar that matures over time to only 3' tall and as wide. It typically grows in a bushy mound, although it can be trained to grow as a small pyramidal tree. As with species plants, the fan-shaped leaves (biloba means two-lobed) are rich green to blue green during the growing season, but change to bright yellow in fall.

9/25/07 – I honestly can’t believe I made it this far. 25 Days. True, pretty insignificant when compared to day 300. An achievement nonetheless. Especially for me.
For those of you who are afraid that I’m going to get all sentimental and say something like…
… looking back over the last 24 days, I realized (please excuse the blatant self-indulgence) that some of them don’t suck. Actually a few of them are quite good. I wouldn’t say great, not yet…
…or, I’d like to take time and give a shout out to the Flirkr-ites who’ve viewed my stream, commented, added me as a contact. I really appreciate you all taking the time to check me out…
… or, to thank the 365 Days group (for the inspiration…seriously, the fact that you all are doing it kept me going on a couple of days when I felt like throwing in the towel), and the Flickr Group Roulette group (the daily challenges are pushing me creatively, and to take portraits that I would not imagined I’m capable of).

I went out after the haboob to find a good sunset spot, without having to get up to the lake.. Not much success as it started to rain, and I didn't have anything to cover my camera with.. gah... I took a side route, got a quick break in the rain.. haboob to my east.. and this amazing sky to my west... it was getting pretty dang windy, and I had just pulled off the side of the road real quick.. so I grabbed 2 shots and went on my way. Pouring by the time I got home... lol..
I saw this insignificant piece of wall on my way back to the car in Maryborough, and then noticed the name `Chifley Place' and of course the engraving beside it.
As a memorial to Australia's 16th Prime Minister, it lacks a certain level of maintenance, but this might be explained by the response from a bystander to my question: "What is the significance to Maryborough of Ben Chifley, and why was a memorial erected to him?"
Back came: "Well, it was put up when Maryborough was a Labor town. Things are different now of course..."
I'd love to know the real connection between Ben Chifley and Maryborough.
I know he was born in Bathurst, NSW, so it isn't to commemorate him being born in the town.
I also know he was originally a train driver, but it doesn't look as though he ever drove a train there either.
So I am still in the dark and my curiosity unquenched.
Weird little markets are not for everyone… In fact most people just don’t get it… tiny, insignificant, weird little markets; what’s the point? The point is: You’re right… most people don’t give a damn about these little niches. They don’t target or market to them and that means – low competition, underserved niches for in the know marketers – like ‘Mark Bishop (the guy behind this product). …So it might be weird, but the fact is people like Mark make a ton of money doing this. You see; an audience in one of these niches is very likely to tick one of these boxes Embarrassed – Think about it, if you had an embarrassing problem, issue or condition where is the first place you will look… The Internet of course! Desperate – Big date on Friday; you just have to get rid of those Blackheads by then & it’s already Wednesday Weird / odd – This is an actual phrase that’s making Mark money every month: ‘How to make your butt bigger using Fish oil’ Ridiculous… I know, but it’s true – Google the phrase for yourself… you’ll find Mark’s site:http://ift.tt/1l9BXed, about half way down page #1 (UK) The bottom line – these people are more inclined to buy online & they do… they really do; and that means people like Mark make a great deal of money, pointing those people in the right direction. bit.ly/1zVuhER
