The Memorial is a tribute to the rich and fascinating period in the history of Brazil, to honor the memory of the heroes of Column Invicta who traveled the country on the longest military march of Humanity’s History disseminating the noblest ideals of freedom, democracy and social justice led by the brave Lieutenants 22, under the leadership of Luiz Carlos Prestes.
Inspired by and dedicated to the always incredible Ali who finishes up her 365 project today. Whenever I think of Ali's presence on Flickr this image always comes first into my brain. Colours mean a lot to me and the association I make between them and the people in my life are important as well and I think it's fitting that this is what I see when I think of Ali. The bold colours and artistic creativity are possibly visuals to express her outward personality and depth of artistry. The fact that when I think of her I see so many colours is a testament to the many characteristics, skills, and talents that she's expressed and shared with the rest of us.
Congratulations Ali on completing this accomplishment, you deserve to celebrate and I know you will. It's been a pleasure to watch your 365 project and to get to know you and I am lucky and proud to call you a friend. Thank you for the inspiration, your motivation, your humour, kind spirit and open heart.
You rock!
The Malatestiana Library is a unique example in Europe: it is the only library in the Middle Ages, that is preserved in its entirety, all the desks and almost all books are original; its construction began in 1447 and it was opened to the public in 1454 .It first public library in Europe . In the Middle Ages, books were costing extremely expensive to made it , it is the reason they were chained the reading desk .It therefore the reader who was moving to see the books. This library inspired Umberto Eco' for their roman "The Name of the Rose".

Canada Water Library, London, England
Sorry I have been quiet on here lately, I have been eagerly wanting to upload my Open House London images but I wanted to just wait a little as sometimes there can be too many uploaded onto Flickr in one go and sometimes can get missed with the mass upload.
This is Canada Water Library and one spiral staircase I didn't know existed so was glad to add it to my ever growing list of Spiral Staircases. The staff here were very polite and allowed you to wonder around the building which from the outside is very interesting, almost looks like a bunker but when inside you would never know it looked like that from the outside.
Of course this is the centre piece of the whole building and my wide angle lens was just big enough to get it all in frame. Just a nice little touch to the overall image was the other photographer on the chairs at the bottom, I don't know who she is but I like that little addition to the photo, I hope I was just as photogenic in your photo too :-).
Location Information
Canada Water is a freshwater lake and wildlife refuge in Rotherhithe in the Docklands in south-east London. Canada Water tube, Overground and bus station is named after the lake, and lies immediately to the north, along with Canada Water Library which overhangs the lake and the new public space, Deal Porter Square while Surrey Quays Shopping Centre is also adjacent, sitting immediately to the south. The surrounding area, which forms the town centre of Rotherhithe, is now increasingly known as Canada Water, after the transport interchange as much as the lake itself.

A kind steward told me that I could not use my tripod inside the museum ... ok, no problem ... I waited until the closing time, I found a good place where to lay my camera and then remote control: Charles Darwin was waiting for me!

Un gentilissimo steward mi ha detto che non potevo utilizzare il treppiede all'interno del museo ... ok, nessun problema ... Ho aspettato sino all'orario di chiusura, ho trovato un buon punto in cui appoggiare la mia macchina fotografica e poi remote control: Charles Darwin mi stava aspettando!

Un steward très gentil m'a dit que je ne pouvais pas utiliser mon trépied à l'intérieur du musée ... ok, pas de problème ... J'ai attendu jusqu'à ce que l'heure de fermeture, j'ai trouvé un bon point où poser mon appareil photoet et alors la télécommande: Charles Darwin était là à m'attendre!

Around mid last year my hard drive crashed and I hadn't done a back up for about 3 months so I ended up losing lots and lots of images. Found this one last night on my external hard drive and I was stoked, I freaking love this portrait of my man (if I don't say so myself hey ;)
Church of St. Peter in Vienna is one of the most interesting Baroque churches of Austrian capital.
The first church, of which there no remain any relics, was maybe belonged to the oldest temples in Vienna and perhaps already established in the 4th century On the site of the former Roman camp.
The construction of this church started in 1701 and in 1733 was consecrated church. Holy Trinity and St. Peter.
This church is the first Baroque dome building in Vienna. The compact form combines surprisingly spacious, richly decorated inside with rectangular outbuildings.
Church of Sts. Peter was the favorite temple of Empress Elisabeth called Sissi, wife of Franz Joseph I.

Kościół św. Piotra w Wiedniu jest jedną z najciekawszych barokowych świątyń stolicy Austrii.
Pierwszy kościół, z którego nie pozostały żadne relikty, należał do najstarszych świątyń wiedeńskich i być może powstał już w IV w. na terenie dawnego obozu rzymskiego.
Budowę tego kościoła rozpoczęto 1701 a w 1733 nastąpiła konsekracja pw. Trójcy Świętej i św. Piotra.
Kościół jest pierwszą barokową kopułową budowlą Wiednia. W zwartej formie łączy zaskakująco przestrzenne, bogato zdobione wnętrze z prostokątnymi przybudówkami.
Kościół św. Piotra był ulubioną świątynią cesarzowej Elżbiety zwanej Sissi, małżonki Franciszka Józefa I.

One of the central features inside Amococo, a Luminarium by Architects of Air. The colours and tones are all produced by natural light filtered through the inflatable shell of the building. Inside, the tunnels, pillars and cavities seem alien and semi-organic.
Architects of Air bring a Luminarium to Nottingham University's Lakeside area early each June. Always worth a visit!
