The Social Work Department at Misericordia University hosted a seminar on food insecurity to examine and discuss one of the nation's leading health and nutrition issues.
A shelter hosting four family members who fled conflict and insecurity in Kachin State. ; Due to conflict and insecurity in 2021, hundreds of individuals fled their villages in Waingmaw Township.
With the support of his community, a village and religious leader secured a land/site where IDPs could settle. While IDPs were able to construct their own shelters, UNHCR provided shelter roofing materials and core relief items to families in need.

Bloomberg joined Feeding Westchester for their annual Golden Scoop corporate challenge. This event helps distribute food to Feeding Westchester's network of 225 partners throughout the county, including their summer feeding program.

Diets tend to be characterized by…Patterns of food insecurity vary among people experiencing homelessness, dependent on interactions between an array of factors like monthly income, regularity of shelter and service access, substance use, and whether they are coping with physical and mental health problems, but broadly speaking homelessness goes hand-in-hand with hunger and malnutrition.
Diets tend to be characterized by low consumption of core food groups, like fruits, vegetables, breads, and cereals and high consumption of sugar-sweetened soft drinks and saturated fat.
Nutrition is a critical element to maintaining both mental and physical health. The effects of poor diet compound problems that people experiencing homelessness already face: higher risk of pneumonia and hypothermia, alongside a weakened immune system which opens them to infectious diseases; vitamin deficiencies and physical symptoms such as dizziness, cracked lips, difficulty walking, and low blood pressure; organ failure; and decreased ability to heal cuts, scratches, and other injuries. Malnutrition has also been shown to negatively affect mood, causing depression, irritability, and fatigue. These symptoms lower peoples' ability to cope with life on the street, and may make it more difficult for them to access housing and services.

In this photograph I decided to use the idea I had experimented with in my 9th shoot, using a mirror to create a reflection inside the glass ball. What I like about this image is Rosie’s confrontational stance, as if to show the anger she feels when she looks in the mirror.
