Insecurity

These etchings are inspired by the sculptural art work created by Chi Aoki in her 'Transforming Bodies' Exhibition. I created this etch by printing it onto a collaged background of tissue papers and acrylic paint.

Insecure and afraid.

I'm trying to learn to be brave.

I'm trying to learn to like what I see.

so far, its not as easy as it sounds.

how the hell are you supposed to learn to like ( love ) the person you despise the most? especially if that person is yourself?

I asked this man If I could take his photo. I expected his to simply say "yeah sure", I'd take the photo and move on. However, that is not the reaction I was given. He replied "Why? Why me? Why do you want to take a picture of me?". This left me stuck for words, leading to my dad to come over and tell the man it was for a school project and it would help my confidence. The man quickly replied "Well i'm very camera shy and I don't like having my picture taken". He then shouted to a man to come over so I could take a picture of him instead..and all his friends. The security guard then gave in and let me take a photo, a took about 8. He then asked to look at them.. then asked me to delete them. My dad saw I was becoming increasingly awkward. So he tried suggesting to the man that we could email him the photos. Expecting him to turn down the offer, he got out his phone to give my dad his email. He also requested we send him other photos I had taken that day.

To sum up this annotation.. It took me 30 minuites to take this photo of an insecure security guard.

Giving fasle sense of security, a shop is locked up in a way where an adult is still able to weaved through the gaps.

On December 2, 2015 the Kerens Church of Christ hosted a meal for anyone in the community to enjoy in order to help combat food insecurity. A young girl sits and waits for her family as two church members prepare the dessert table.

Based off my research on food insecurities, I developed three themes for concept sketches. In this series I explored food desserts and ways to bring in healthy foods to the cities where access to grocery stores is limited.

Senior staff and key stakeholders meet and network together before a roundtable discussion on kosher supply chain and kosher food insecurity on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at USDA Headquarters, Washington D.C.. The event brought together key stakeholders for the USDA Center for Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, USDA leadership, and others to discuss trends, data points, and issues faced by kosher producers and processers, certifiers, vendors, and emergency food providers. The event featured leadership remarks, as well as a panel discussion with partner organizations and a networking reception.

This was the second year that the USDA hosted a Jewish American Heritage Month Celebration, bringing together faith leaders, USDA representatives, and community members together to celebrate religious pluralism. The celebration was hosted by the USDA Center for Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and is part of a long running strategic collaboration with several non-governmental organizations and provides an opportunity to celebrate and develop new partnerships with Jewish American organizations in agriculture and food systems. The 2013 Earth Dialogues, held 3 September 2013 at the United Nations Office at Geneva, attracted leading figures of international politics, science, business and civil society in the search for solutions to resolve the most pressing and interconnected challenges of insecurity, poverty and environmental degradation.

I want a forest where i can take pictures, I hate taking pictures inside these four walls

This is a piece that I painted with a sponge. It is a simple design for a 'Pot-belly' which I initially wanted to create in clay, i then decided that this style of very intimate painting could be furthered into a much better painting on a larger scale.
