Based off my research on food insecurities, I developed three themes for concept sketches. My final theme explored ending hunger with expanded programs both federally and locally.

My godson had his first day in school today. As you'll all remember from your childhood, this is one of the most exciting days.

The Social Work Department at Misericordia University hosted a seminar on food insecurity to examine and discuss one of the nation's leading health and nutrition issues.

For the longest time of my life, I've always been an introvert. People like to call me antisocial/unsocial/unfriendly, but I just think that I become too awkward/shy (sometimes mistaken as cold and arrogant) when there are way too many people (especially new people) around me.

This past year has been a difficult journey, both physically and emotionally, for me. I feel like I've changed into someone who is more open, more sociable, happier, more talkative, just all better traits. But then the more of those things I get, the more insecurities I get. I don't know why, but for the past couple of days I've been really wondering what's really going on with me. So many things (many unexpected ones) happened all the sudden, and I slowly realize that I can't handle all of them at the same time. I'm scared because for a while I thought everything is doing fine, and that it's getting better, and then BOOM things are back to where they used to be again.

I just want my bubbles back, my protective ones, the ones that make me feel safe and calm.

On a brighter note, I'm trying to maintain my happy days by eating more healthy food (especially tons and tons of fruit), drink lots of water (my worst challenge), go to the gym more often, spend less time on internet (no more facebook for me for now), and focus on studying for the finals.

*This didn't turn out as good as I want it to be, but oh well, I need to post something anyway.

** Day 100 is approaching, I don't know what to do!

Reducing poverty is a key element in a policy for food security, because poor people spend such a large share of their incomes on food, leaving them vulnerable to high food prices, and many poor people obtain much of their income from farming, leaving them vulnerable to declines in agricultural output. Natural disasters, socio-political upheavals, and the perils of climate change threaten the food sources for millions. Fresh produce, with essential vitamins and minerals, becomes scarce in the aftermath of these disasters, especially in refugee camps, disaster-hit areas and rural areas suffering from food insecurity.

MEPA is a solution tailored for the Earth's challenging conditions where traditional agriculture either proves challenging or where food aid needs to be alleviated or transformed.

This closed-loop hydroponic system, which has been heavily influenced by space research, offers a quick, deployable answer to food scarcity. With the capability to transform terrains - be it deserts, post-disaster zones, or rooftops - into self-sustainable food gardens.

I started to look at sketching as social commentary and developed a set of sketches depicting emotions as anthropomorphic creatures.

Berlin, I felt a bit small after this one

In this image I wanted to experiment with different positioning again. I had Ella face the ground covering her face to create a sense of insecurity and lack of confidence. I made the contrast higher to make it feel as if she was being sucked into the darkness and perhaps being consumed by her anxiety.
