Found a very cooperative cold nomada bee yesterday sitting on a philadelphus leaf. Focus stacked using zerene stacker. Taken at 5:1 FF

This house centipede gained access to my dorm room by crawling under the door.

 

It ran quite fast, but I managed to catch it in a DV tape container.

I always feel blessed when these wonderful insects visit my yard. this one was especially friendly as he hung around for 10-12 minutes and I took many images.

Proctotrupid parasitoid wasp. About 4.0 mm body length. Focus stacked using zerene

Arge pagana - Rose sawfly.

Thanks to Maureen and Ken for the very helpful ID. The larvae will defoliate roses and damage young shoots so it is best to keep a watch for them and destroy.

Highdown gardens- not mating flies. Thought this was a pair of mating flies but looking at the shots after I think it's a male dance fly feeding on forget me not whilst carrying another dead fly as a nuptial gift for a female. He just has not found the right lady yet. Natural light

I found this, what I thought was a digger wasp hanging about a wall in my garden. However, I have since been corrected by jel 1969 and bleu.geo with two different suggestions.. so I'll leave it as `Wasp' just now :) Tthank you for help with ID :)

Calosoma scrutator. Apparently hunts caterpillars. This is one of the more colorful N. American beetles. It was moving pretty fast and I wanted to get a shot of the head and thorax, hence the bad angle.
