It's been a tough couple of weeks for critters like this Carpenter Bee, with rain almost every day.

Taken in Douglas,Isle Of Man.

A stick insect from Ecuador. I saw several of these during night hikes in habitats ranging from forest to gardens. Perhaps the colors serve as a warning that it has a unpleasant taste or is poisonous to consume, either way I didn't find out.

EDIT: Thanks to Bruno Kneubuehler, this has been IDed as a adult male Monticomorpha flavolimbata.

Possibly a Grass Veneer of some sort, but all these things look the same to me, and my poor photography doesn't help.

This was day flying (or at least easily disturbed) in an upland habitat of mixed grass, gorse and bracken. HMM!
