The Orthoptera are an order of insects with incomplete metamorphosis, including the grasshoppers, crickets and locusts. Many insects in this order produce sound (known as a "stridulation") by rubbing their wings against each other or their legs, the wings or legs containing rows of corrugated bumps. Their ears, located in the front legs, are interconnected in such a way that they are able to locate each other by sound ( in wikipedia)

Gesehen im Botanischen Garten, Berlin. Ich wollte so gerne die hübsche blaue Oberseite der Flügel fotografieren aber als er sie aufgeklappt hat ist er sofort weggeflogen.
These skeletal remains of an insect were found clinging to several blades of grass at the Jones/Hungryland Wildlife & Environmental Area in western Martin County, Florida.

Claims are made that one Lacewing can consume up to 600 aphids in its lifetime. In some parts of the world Lacewings have been used to biologically control aphid populations.
