The Bush Inn is in the lovely village of St Hilary in the Vale of Glamorgan. It's one of a number of buildings in the village with a thatched roof.

The San Gorgonio Inn, located at 150 E. Ramsay St. in Banning, CA, originally opened in 1884 as the Bryant House. Visitors, which included President Benjamin Harrison, would arrive by stagecoach. It was renamed the San Gorgonio Inn in the 1920s, and was completely gutted by fire in 1930.

It was redesigned and rebuilt in 1931, and after decades of being used as an Inn and restaurant, it briefly was passed down to one of the chefs, after the owners died. The chef sold it, and it briefly turned into a strip club. After a public outcry, the chef bought it back, but he couldn't bring it back to its former reputation or glory. It closed for good in May 2007, and was demolished in 2011.

Mariott Residence Inn in Atlanta, Georgia

It was my 60th birthday last Monday. I consider myself pretty lucky already in having most things I could want so I shouldn't have been surprised to be given eight bottles of whisky or bourbon. Thankfully there were no socks or silly pants. But there were some really touching individual gifts too which I want to keep close, on my desk at work, or on the bookcase where I can touch and admire.

This is one example, produced by a lady I've never even met...and she created this for me! It's my flickr buddy Gary's wife, and when I first saw it I was amazed. It's about me and a little of my mixed up DNA. Deb has cleverly drawn some memorable moments from my recent history, much featured on flickr and incorporated them in this picture. There's me in my Brambletye school uniform aged nine (over one million flickr views for some perverse reason), me dressed as Santa removing baubles from the 'world famous' Lone Tree at Padarn, Darcy, my trusty mini-mountain Schnauzer companion, me in my Penguin costumes that pop up here and there, and the fantastic goats and map of my favourite adventure place in Dinorwig quarry (as well as a graffiti Pirate character). I think it is amazing and I just want to show how brilliant it is to all my flickr friends. Thanks Deb and Gaz! That really is special!

From Winslow Arizona, we headed East to explore Petrified Forest National Park. We decided to go anyway, even after a local woman from Sedona had a less-than-stellar opinion of the place. We were all delighted with what the Park had to offer, and reveled in the light as we reached the end of the self-guided tour.

Mom and I had the opportunity to stay at this B and B at the beginning of summer in Durango, Colorado. We had a little cottage all to ourselves with a nice front porch with a swing. The breakfast we received was delicious and they had a happy hour in the evening. The Inn had these wonderful ponds and great gardens to walk around. Across the highway, you could watch the Durango/Silverton narrow gauge railroad go by in the morning and come back in the evening. If you are ever in the Durango area, I recommend you to look in to staying here. Click here for the their website. I suggest clicking the link and having a look at how wonderful this place is.

I used textures by Encouter, I'm not able to find them on here but I appreciate their works of art.

The Town House Inn in Oneonta is not that brick building. The brick building is the Fairchild Mansion, built by George Winthrop Fairchild in 1867 and modernized a couple of times afterward. Fairchild was the chairman of the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, which changed its name to International Business Machines (IBM) in 1924. The mansion was purchased by the Masonic Lodge in 1929.

Part of the Town House Inn can be seen in the background. It should be noted that the Town House may not be the best place to stay in Oneonta.

This ancient inn in the town of Rye in East Sussex dates back to the 12th century, but was rebuilt in 1460 after French invaders destroyed the building (though the cellars remain). Today it is a luxurious hotel & restaurant. This picture was taken from one the hotel's bedroom windows during a recent stay there.

For 119 Pictures in 2019 #48 "From outside looking in", this is the front entrance to the Lighthouse Inn in Rockport, TX. Taken in the early evening to even out the light inside vs outside, this is looking through the front door into the lobby. The dining room with its views of Aransas Bay can be seen way in the back. I do like the etched lighthouse on the glass.

The French inn was built in 1806. The house is located at Djurgarden in Stockholm, Sweden.The building is a large, yellow wooden house and surrounded by two smaller wings. The house is one of several large houses in the area in the era of Karl XIV Johan. In the 1830s it had a pink facade. At the inn was held Artist club's first summer festival in 1857 where all Swedish leading artists was present. The party was immortalized in a detailed watercolor painted by the member Fredrik Wilhem Scholander. Today, the buildings are private residence

Behind the inn, to the right, you can see the Hallestad bell tower which now stands at Skansen in Stockholm, originally from Hallestad parish in northern Ostergotland. With its 40.5 meters it is one of Sweden's highest bell tower. The tower was built in 1732-33 and donate to Skansen in the late 1800s where it now stands as a stately monument of the time period.

The three bells of Hallestad belltower always rings in the New Year as it did for our ancestors when they went to Hallestad church between 1732- 1893.

Every New Year's Night, all we Swedes that are scattered throughout the world, hear the bells from Skansen, TV or the Web as we listening to the poem Ring Out, Wild Bells ("Ring bell ring") by Lord Tennyson being recited at midnight at Skansen. This is an old Swedish tradition, the first time the poem was read beside the bell tower was in 1895.

Ring Out, Wild Bells, Lord Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892)

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,

The flying cloud, the frosty light

The year is dying in the night;

Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,

Ring, happy bells, across the snow:

The year is going, let him go;

Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind,

For those that here we see no more,

Ring out the feud of rich and poor,

Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,

And ancient forms of party strife;

Ring in the nobler modes of life,

With sweeter manners, purer laws.

Ring out the want, the care, the sin,

The faithless coldness of the times;

Ring out, ring out thy mournful rhymes,

But ring the fuller minstrel in.

Ring out false pride in place and blood,

The civic slander and the spite;

Ring in the love of truth and right,

Ring in the common love of good.

Ring out old shapes of foul disease,

Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;

Ring out the thousand wars of old,

Ring in the thousand years of peace.

Ring in the valiant man and free,

The larger heart the kindlier hand;

Ring out the darkness of the land,

Ring in the Christ that is to be.

Taken during a sudden blizzard, The Drovers Inn Hotel, Inverarnan near Loch lomond is probably the most famous inn and pub in Scotland. This 300 year old inn is situated on the A82 just past Ardlui at the top of the loch.

The Frosty Inn In Russellville, Alabama opened in 1960 and is still hanging on despite the competition from several fast food franchises that have opened in the town.

The fairly remote old fashioned Railway Inn, on a minor B-road near Meare, is surrounded by extensive nationally important wetland nature reserves on the Somerset Levels.

The pub sits next to where the old Ashcott Railway Sation used to be. The station was on the Highbridge branch of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. Opened by the Somerset Central Railway in 1856 as Ashcott and Meare, the name changed to Ashcott in 1876. Consisting of a short wooden platform and station building, the station was next to a road level crossing.

The station closed when trains were withdrawn during the Beeching Axe, taking effect on 7th March 1966. But the Railway Inn is well supported by locals and visitors to the nature reserves.

17th-century galleried coaching inn.

Ohio Historical Marker - This historic inn began serving travelers on the old Portage-Columbiana stage road (now Tallmadge Road) in 1832. Two major stage lines, one from Cleveland to Wellsville (the closest Ohio River port) and the other from Cleveland to Pittsburgh, passed through Palmyra in the early 1800s. Originally a simple two-story Greek Revival-style building, it had its third story added in 1888 when it became a lodge for the Knights of Pythias fraternal organization. It served as a private residence and store for most of the 20th century. The Palmyra Center Hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
