Recortada.
In the previous shot, the bee-eater on the left was visibly nervous at the approach of a third bird with an insect in its beak. In this shot he can be seen surprised (disappointed?) when the one who has just landed with the tasty treat lands at the other end of the innkeeper and decides not to offer it to anyone.
Almost three years ago I uploaded a photograph similar to this one taken in the same place (charcos del rio grande in Quesa -Valencia-) and with the same protagonists, except that on this occasion the spider is much better appreciated (in the previous one it was more camouflaged under the sheet).
The male of Gomphus graslinii would perch intermittently on this innkeeper, controlling one of its territories, while the arachnid moved cautiously under the leaf.

Whoever enters goes back in time. Furniture as before in all village cafés, flower curtains, a wall with manual coffee grinders, antique KG coffee and Heineken enamel signs on the wall and a cupboard full of antique tins.
Sister Huizinga (65) points to an almost hidden window. "In those years the maid was not allowed to enter the inn. When the brandy ran out, she had to go to the cellar to fill wine. She then knocked at this hidden counter so that the innkeeper could take the wine. It must have been around the beginning of 1900 .
The characteristic building was once a cretan house. Cattle dealer Glastra bought it and turned it into an inn. "The coachmen could sleep here. If a coachman came, the girl was lifted from her bed and the coachman came into a warm bed. She then had to sleep in the hayloft. "

In Friesland is skûtsjesilen (sailing with 14 historical flat bottom boats) one of the Top Event for Dutch tourism. Skûtsjesilen is a synonym for sailing competitions with old freight ships. These flat bottom boats were built at the beginning of the last century for the transportation of peat, manure and other loads to the farms. For this purpose the ships had to sail in shallow waters. That’s why these ships had to be built long and flat. Speed and manoeuvrability is characteristic of a skûtsje and therefore is this type of ship especially suitable for sailing competitions. To anticipate on supply and demand quickly and adapt to changing weather conditions was a daily struggle in those days.

One of the places that we visit the most in the Rambla de la Puça is its first waterfall, depending on the direction of the water. There we place some innkeepers (reeds, branches, etc) so that the dragonflies perch and we look for somewhat different backgrounds taking advantage of the water.
This male specimen of Orthetrum chrysostigma perched on one of the reeds, achieving that background bokeh effect of the photograph.

This male Platycnemis latipes, and some others too, let me take close-up photos. He only left the innkeeper to try to capture a mosquito that was hanging around the area.

Christiana Campbell (ca. 1723) was a colonial innkeeper from Williamsburg, Virginia. She started the business herself in an era where it was unusual for women to do so in the colony.] A replica of her tavern was built in Colonial Williamsburg and currently serves as a popular tourist attraction and restaurant.
During this time Williamsburg served as the capitol of the Colony of Virginia and as such, her tavern was often frequented by important political figures of the day. Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were both patrons of the establishment and many members of the House of Burgesses stayed in Campbell's tavern while the General Assembly was in session. Women visited taverns infrequently as these locations were considered inappropriate for ladies. However innkeeping was seen as an acceptable vocation for women during this time period. Wikipedia
This morning I was following this male to photograph him in a good innkeeper (they usually perch on the ground, on top of stones) when something caught him flying, both falling to the ground.
As I got closer I could see that an aslido (assassin fly) had captured him. Then he flew with his prey to the branch of a bush where I could portray them.
My friend Ricardo took me to see individuals of Onychigomphus costae.
Those beautiful days of July, when the Goldfinches come to sing and give a nice ambient to all the sunsets of the Basque Country. Do you imagine a forest in silence? What would a world be without these beautiful animals? Because of pollution the birds are disappearing and we’re not aware of it. Everyone needs to put their grain of sand to make the birds sing again.

I could tell a story about how I made the image and decorate it a bit but it doesn't come out, when I work on a species I never think of a specific image if not that I innovate as the species is left behind, I always start with the easiest as an innkeeper and I try to improve later, but I never break this rule, thank you all for the comments of my previous images, this image is such it came out of camera,

Once again wandering the backstreets of a strange town, really there are very few streets to wander in St Goar, there is the main street which is the highway running parallel to the Rhine and the Oberstrasse which runs parallel to this one block back and a network of intersecting short streets linking the two.
Being named after the patron Saint of Innkeepers St Goar is a most hospitable place and most of its economy it focused on the tourists that pass through this little gem.
Sankt Goar is great place to purchase a souvenir beer stein, styling clogs, or a cuckoo clock, in fact it has the largest free standing cuckoo clock in Germany but save your wine purchases for another location though a center for Riesling production it is one of the more expensive areas for the libation.

NAPOLI
(Wikipedia)
Anyone who saw the photo I posted yesterday already knows where we are.
The Neapolitan mask of the Teatro dell'Arte par excellence is Pulcinella. He embodies the Neapolitan plebs, the simplest man, the one who occupies the last place on the social scale, the man who, although aware of his problems, always manages to come out of them with a smile. He is called to represent the soul of the people and its primitive instincts, he almost always appears in contradiction, so much so that he does not have fixed traits: he is rich or poor, he adapts to all trades in addition to being a faithful servant, here he is a baker, innkeeper, farmer, thief and seller of miraculous concoctions, he is bully or cowardly, and sometimes exhibits both traits simultaneously making fun of the powerful. The quality that best distinguishes Pulcinella is his shrewdness, and it is precisely with his proverbial shrewdness that he manages to find the ability to solve the most disparate problems that confront him, always in favor of the weakest at the expense of the powerful. Another of his famous characteristics is that of never being able to shut up and from this comes the expression "secret of Pulcinella" that is something that everyone knows. (Wikipedia)
We spent a night at the East Brother Light Station. The bed & breakfast inn sits on a small island located at the border of the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay near Richmond. Innkeepers Bryan & Stephanie welcomed us with champagne & hors d’oeuvres upon arrival, served us a multi-course dinner with wine, and a gourmet breakfast the next morning. Shortly after sunset I went up to the light tower to observe the view. Nowadays the light source are powerful LED lights with small individual lenses to focus the light. The light can be seen for 14 nautical miles.

From the island you can see the skyline of San Francisco behind the Richmond Bridge.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
