Ink on paper.

I can't remember what I was putting off when I drew this, but I obviously spent quite a while on it, so it was probably something quite important.

I might revisit this concept - I think some aspects, at least, work quite well...

A few of my brothers tattoos. The forearm's about a year old, bicep's about 6 months, the leg is still pretty fresh, so its in the healing process-- the gaps in the lines will be filled with symbols like on the arm when finished.

I was practicing with different light set-ups. this was an experiment.

"Artists in Action" is an annual open-house held at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, located at 1212 Jackson Street. Faculty members/studio artists from the Community Education department demonstrate their areas of expertise in book arts, drawing, oil-painting, stone-carving, photography, digital design, clay sculpting, printmaking and other disciplines offered through the Community Education department.

For the 2006 event, Art Academy students had an art sale, opening their studios to the public. Shoppers traveled from studio to studio admiring the stunning selection of glass sculptures, wood carvings, paintings, etchings, relief prints, collagraphs, figure drawings, textile pieces, photographs, collages, steel sculptures, aluminum sculptures, clay sculptures, digital designs, photo sculptures and too many more artworks to list.

The Community Education department offers non-credit classes year-round in Figure Sculpture, Figure Drawing, Stone-Carving, Glass-Blowing, Steel Sculpture, Wood-Working, Lamp-Working, Textiles, Linoleum Relief Prints, Portrait Techniques of the Masters, Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor, Oriental Ink Painting, Calligraphy, Digital Photography, Darkroom Photography, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Web Design, Digital Cartooning with Maya, Hand-Built Pottery, Mosaics and many more courses that are open to the public.

This is where majority of inks ended up at.

Tattoo artist June Lee, 26, tracing the outline of the tattoo stencil carefully in order to prevent mistakes from being made. Gloves ensure that the area being tattooed is free from contamination. It is normal for the skin around the tattoo to turn pink and sore because of the punctures of the tatoo needle in order to imprint the ink onto the body.

Going from blue to green...

There is something I want. Something I want to do. And I want to do it for real. I want to get a tattoo. I still don't know what I want it to be, or where I want to place it. I was wondering what other people had to say about this (though I know there are not that many people browsing my photostream, that just doesn't matter. I just wanted the world to know).

I made this drawing to test out the new ink I bought (Dr. Ph. Martin's Black Star Waterproof India Ink, Matte). I LOVE it. It's exactly what I've been looking for. A thank you to the fellow working at Muse who suggested it!

The drawing is of the outfit I wore for my friend Christopher's going away party. Blue jeans, white tank-top, yellow suede loafers. Sexy!

I don't print out the,"good stuff" for customers and clients at home. Mostly personal pics, contact sheets, and such. I save the real prints for the lab where the $20,000 machines can make prints that no home printers can match. Re-inking is a pain in the ass, but it saves alot of $$$$. A re-ink kit costs about $12- $15... can refill about 8 to 12 times or so.. and the black refills last longer. An ink cartridge itself can be refilled 5 or more times before the heads wear down. At $23 an ink cartridge... you do the math....
