injecting a little more color into the stream, I went back and reworked this shot a bit larger and hopefully crisper...from 2005, before I knew about "foregrounds" :-)
Hand injected. Crated for extra protection. Available at Brickmania in very limited quantities at the moment.
• 4 different proto molds needed too produce them.
• Body is triple overmolded in 100% ABS plastic - gunmetal over brown over brass ABS.
• Ammo cells are trans blue ABS, injected over brass ABS, and are snug, but removable (with a little force).
Dyed orchid roots.
Professional growers inject dye into the stems of white orchids to create colours not found in Nature.
The dye leaves a tell tale stain on the stems and roots.
This orchid had striking multi-coloured flowers.
The flowers died back naturally and now, a few months later new shoots are appearing.
It is likely to revert to its original colour now, so I will be very curious to see what appears.

While changing the plastic in the injector, I run "transition" shots.
Sometimes. the colors happen to mix perfectly.

...where do Little Green Men come from?
I'll show you, in 20 minutes and 8 simple steps.
Step 1: LGM* DNA** is extracted from the containment vial.
Step 2: LGM DNA is injected into the larval sack.
Step 3: The LGM DNA begins to bond with the nutrient-rich proteins of the larval sack.
Step 4: A larval tadpole begins to form. A routine biometric scan indicates all systems normal.
Step 5: Facial features start to form. Cognitive abilities become evident at this point.
Step 6: Cranium is fully formed. Synaptic download begins via anntanae.
Step 7: Nearly finished. Oh dear! Where is his uniform?
Step 8: Oops! Left this one in about 5 minutes too long.
And that is how it's done.
*Little Green Men
**Not THAT kind of DNA! Don't be gross!

I decided to inject a bit of color into my stream after posting black and whites for the past few days. This is an image I took back in the Spring on a hike I did with my friend Tom up Ruckel Creek to the waterfalls there. My pinhole at the time was loaded with 100 speed film, so in the shady glen of the falls, my exposures were all about four minutes long. This can be a bit of an inconvenience, as it not only ties up my camera, but my tripod too. But I have also found that it is a blessing in disguise. When you are forced into such long exposures, it sure makes you put some thought into how you are going to invest that time. You do not haphazardly shoot willy-nilly! As I have also said before, it is nice to be able to set my camera up for such long exposures, put everything else down, and just wander and roam for a few minutes without having to think about photography at all. One of the hidden benefits of being a pinhole photographer. ;-)
On a side note, I was looking at this and thinking my composition could have been a bit better, even though, granted, I am shooting a camera without a viewfinder and going just by best judgment. The composition is not bad, I just wish I had not cut off the rock on the left side. Generally speaking, when composing an image, try to keep attention-drawing elements from intersecting the edge of your photo. They will draw the eye to them, and then right out of the frame. But this is just a minor point against this photo for me, I still like it quite a bit. It is quiet, just like the spot where I photographed it.

Personal injected nunchucks. :)
Black and silver- and they look amazing! I have like 4 that I overmolded for myself. First pair too.
Injected specially for someone at Brickfair.

Song: Injected with a poison (1992)
Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQorUTqkSpY
Category: 1 (Acid House)
Due to the repetitious nature of the lyrics (it’s Acid house from 1992 not Gilbert & Sullivan), I’ll edit it back to certain lines of relevance :
Injected with a poison!
There's a rainbow inside the mind….
Injected with a poison!
We don't need that anymore.
Free your body, Feel the energy
Free your body, I'm in ecstasy
Free your body, Use your fantasy
Free your body…..
Injected with a poison!
Are you listening to me?

HC1 (Hand Cannon) injected, cut and re-injected by myself.
This is the very first overmold of the HC1 ever made. Whether it will be used in the future, I am unsure. Only time (and Will) will tell.
Crates also designed and printed by myself.
To clarify, this has NEVER been overmolded before. The M44 has been overmolded once or twice (literally), and that is what you are referring to.

I Hope your New Year was off to a good start! :)
Unfortunately, I feel run down for weeks now and have to get me out of this mood first. I will stop my flickr activity for that reason. (Perhaps there will be some exceptions - Heaven knows...)
Have fun! :)

Off to be Covid-19 immunised today. It took a while as there were a lot of people queueing to go through the cattle sheds. The irony! I feel much better now that the nanobots are working with the 5G signal.

This picture is of NCB Granville Colliery "Granville No 5" working a train of empty wagons from the exchange sidings to the colliery, the loco is Hunslet HE3771/1952.
The mine was originally part of the Lilleshall Co.Ltd. becoming an NCB pit in 1947. NCB modernised the motive power and on the 10th of May 1952 number 5 arrived new from Leeds, it was later fitted with a Geisel injector & chimney as seen here. The locos worked various yards around the colliery and loaded coal trains to the exchange sidings where BR locos took over, the usual destination being Buildwas Power Station.
Granville colliery at Donnington Shropshire closed in 1979 It was the last mine in Shropshire to close, the last but one being Highley on what is now the preserved Severn Valley Railway.
Peter's picture is the sort of shot that is "re-invented" these days with a classic vehicle and a steam train. This is real, the 1964 Bedford CA is new and both van and loco are grimy with service.
The loco did not get preserved, DVLA do not list the Bedford and the pit and railway system is closed. Buildwas Power station was replaced by Ironbridge Power station which has also closed and been demolished, I just hope the bungalows are still there!

I injected Agave nectar into a flower to give this honeybee a reason to let me get close.
Tech Specs: Canon 90D (F11, 1/125, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (set to 1x) + a diffused MT-26EX-RT, manual mode, key (A) on a Kaiser Adjustable Flash Shoe set to 1/16 -1/3 and the fill (B) set to 1/32 -1/3. This is a single frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Photo AI and Clarity in that order.

The camera is back in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside (DTES).
This is a typical scene in the DTES where drug users inject their illegal drugs, unsupervised.
There are safe injection sites available but many choose not to use them.
Note the injection needle in his mouth while he pressures his arm to find a vein to inject.
Supervised injection sites offer a kit for users. The kit contains a blue stretch rubber strap users can wrap on their arm to pop up a vein for injection. This man may have lost his strap.
Injecting alone is scary as the street drug supply is often mixed with lethal chemicals.
If this man overdoses he can only hope someone passing by will notice and call 911.
Street deaths from overdose is a small percentage of the overall toll as most die alone in their own home.
The arrival of COVID-19 has made the situation worse as the illegal drug supply line has been interrupted. As a result a more toxic mix is in distribution as the available supply is cut with more dangerous chemicals.
While there are daily media briefings about COVID-19, which has killed fewer than 200 people in B.C., overdoses that have killed more than 700 so far this year receive little more than a monthly mortality update.
The number of drug deaths in each provincial health authority is at or near the highest on record, without a solution in sight.
The DTES is a neighbourhood with many challenges in normal times. With COVID-19 the residents are among the most at-risk. Over 3,000 community members are homeless and thousands more live in overcrowded, single-room housing that makes physical distancing nearly impossible.
The accommodations are without kitchens and rely on shared bathrooms with no access to soap for handwashing. This, compounded with the limited access to food and a safe drug supply, continues to create growing unsafe conditions.
