Inuuteq Storch’s photographs from everyday life in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) weave together interiors, landscapes, animals and spirit life. Whether photographing family and friends or people he’s just met, the photographic process is influenced by close collaboration. The images’ snapshot aesthetic is informed by Storch’s intimate relationship with his subjects and intuitive way of working.
The four series in the exhibition span the entirety of Storch’s career and follow him on journeys between his hometown Sisimiut and places in and outside of Kalaallit Nunaat. Photographs preserve cultural memories, and for Storch, they are a means to assert control over and create a history of one’s own. Using analogue cameras, often gifted by friends and colleagues, he subsequently digitizes the material for his personal archive. With inspiration from Kalaallits’ (Greenlanders’) music and art of storytelling, Storch creates a visual language that is both poetic and fabulating. Though not overtly political, his images draw attention to a people and a culture with resilience and enterprise.
The history of Kalaallit Nunaat is one shaped by colonialism and geopolitical events. Though the country is self-governed and largely independent from Denmark, today’s political situation demonstrates that imperialist modes of thought and action still very much affect the agenda. There is thus a strong need to create alliances in the Circumpolar North, and this exhibition should be seen as playing a part in such a process.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Perspektivet Museum and the research project Urban Transformation in a Warming Arctic (UrbTrans) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. UrbTrans is supported by The Resarch Council of Norway and Tromsø Research Foundation.
Exhibition design is by Spine Studio in close collaboration with the curators, Marthe Tolnes Fjellestad, Mari Hildung and Hanne Hammer Stien.

El sábado pasado concluía la última sesión del seminario “Líderes Influencers”, en esta ocasión el título fue: "LO IMPORTANTE ES LEVANTARSE: FORTALEZA". Comenzaban a las 16.30h tomando un café, a continuación tuvieron varias dinámicas de grupo con Pascual Hernández, socio director de Explora, aplicando la importancia de la fortaleza que radica no en caerse, sino levantarse siempre, llegar a los objetivos sorteando los obstáculos y descubriendo las debilidades que impiden alcanzar las metas, la importancia del trabajo en equipo, soluciones más efectivas etc. Más tarde Diana y Mar Quesada, influencers decoradoras de interiores de Tres Studio (@tres_studio), les contaron su experiencia profesional, cómo comenzaron con las redes sociales, primero con un blog y Facebook, más tarde con Instagram, cómo las distintas situaciones de su vida afectaron este ámbito, hablaron de responsabilidad social, de transmitir valores y nos quedamos con la frase “..nosotras llevamos las redes, las redes no nos llevan a nosotras…” más tarde intervino Juan Martínez Otero, autor del libro "Tsunami digital, hijos surferos" les habló cómo internet ha modificado los hábitos de la sociedad, pero en todos lo casos y situaciones que expuso daba enfoques muy positivos y consejos para enfrentarlas, y para que las redes e Internet no dominen su vida. Tras un descanso y después de la Misa vespertina, tuvieron tertulia con Mario Gil, influencer cómico (@mariuslekker), les contó cómo su hermano le animaba, ya que a él le gustaba crear humor, pero no quería desvelar su vida privada, luego se dio cuenta que era una forma de transmitir valores y hacer humor sano y crear contenidos que fuesen dignos de seguir y sin comprometer su información personal. Tuvieron tiempo de hacerles a todos muchas preguntas e intercambiar experiencias.
Damos las gracias a la coordinadora y artífice de este seminario, Zoimer Quintero que se ha dejado la piel con y por los jóvenes, y a muchas personas que han contribuido a las satisfacción de todos los asistentes como María, Ana…etc.
Sobre todo estamos muy agradecidos con otros influencers que desde muy lejos durante los meses que ha durado el seminario, han estado enviando videos, especialmente nuestra gratitud a mons. Munilla, Obispo de San Sebastián que desde el primer momento nos apoyó en esta iniciativa.

Biters are a rock band from Atlanta, Georgia.
They are signed to Earache Records. Their deput LP, Electric Blood, was released on August 7, 2015.
Their main influences include bands such as Cheap Trick, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, New York Dolls, Thin Lizzy, Dead Boys, Slade, The Boys, etc. They have already received significant credit from people such as Nikki Sixx, from Motley Crue.
Biters were also featured in Classic Rock Magazine several times. and were called a "bite-sized slice of retro rock'n'roll debauchery.". In addition to Classic Rock, they were featured in other notable websites such as Team Rock, Planet Rock, 50Thirdand3rd.com, Gaffa, OUIFM, Soundscape and Alternative Press.

The much awaited event of the year, the Annual Teachers’ Conference of this year, was held today at the Golden Glory Hall of Karnavati Club. It was attended by trustees, directors, teachers and staff of Udgam School and Zebar School. The compere for the day, Mrs. Sarmishtha Sinha, teacher of Udgam Senior Secondary section, unfolded the events of the day in an eloquent manner. The day began with a prayer song followed by lighting of the lamp by the trustees of the school Shri G. K. Choksi, Dr. Shaunak Muzumdar and Shri Sandeep Parikh alongwith Shri Rajabhai Pathak and Executive Director Shri Manan Choksi and Directors Ms Radhika Iyer, Ms Pratima Patell and Mrs Villoo Parikh and Principal Mrs. Sujata Tandon. Homage was paid by Ms. Radhika Iyer to the dynamic and revered trustee of the school, Late Shri V. C. Shah, who left for his heavenly abode this year leaving a deep void. A motivating speech by veteran educationist, Shri Rajabhai Pathak, left a deep impact on the audience. The Motivational Speaker of the conference was Sister Shivani who has been a member of Brahma Kumari’s World Spiritual University for more than two decades. It was a proud privilege for the school to have her as a speaker. She enthralled the audience with her deep and meaningful words. She spoke at length about the need for unity, harmony and the values of teamwork. She also addressed issues such as tackling stress in teachers and students, how to instill self discipline and motivated the teachers with her enlightening thoughts. The rapt audience listened in awe as pearls of wisdom poured forth and brought to the fore ideas and realisations that had been hidden away somewhere in the recesses of the being. Next on the agenda were the presentations by the different sections of teachers and non-teaching group of Udgam School about successes and failures of the year 2016-17 and plans for 2017-18. The groups presented their ideas well with beautiful success stories, a few failures and their plans for the future. When Executive Director Shri Manan Choksi went onstage to speak, the audience was agog to listen to his dynamic and out-of-the-box ideas. Shri Choksi mainly spoke about how the future is no longer what we believed it to be, a thought well ahead of its time. Then he went on to explain the concept by giving examples from the educational sector. He also stressed on the need to improve English in order to emerge as a world class English medium school. The Zebar success story, wherein the implementation of the best practices of Udgam School in Zebar School through Udgam Consultancy skyrocketed the number of admissions from a mere 200 to a whopping 1600 in less than 8 months, was also mentioned as it is a huge example of how success of one school has influenced another’s. Awards are a form of motivation for those who get it as well as those who don’t make it. Udgam School has an accomplished and dedicated team of teachers and staff and it is quite tough to decide who are more deserving. As special cases of being first among equals, several members of the fraternity were given awards for their performance in the year 2016-17. Finally, Mrs. Manjari Jain, Vice Principal of Senior Secondary section, gave the Vote of Thanks. Of course there was a delightful lunch spread which was also the time for socializing and swapping ideas. The Annual Teachers’ Conference of 2017 was a grand success where motivation met team work to rejoice in the past and renew plans for the future.
