Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries. It is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England.

the infinity Pool at the Marina Bay Sands Skypark.
Was there with the wife & we were fortunate to be able to get to view the pool. From what I understand, the management only aceded to the request to view the pool after 7pm.

We were part of the 1st 1000 (after the news , it was probably 1st 2000) visitors to visit the Skypark.

Strayer-Voigt, Inc. (also known as SVI) is a manufacturer of M1911-styled modular pistols. The Strayer-Voigt system is called modular because the lower grip and trigger guard, which is made of a fiber reinforced plastic, is a separate component from the metal upper portion of the frame that comprises the dust cover and frame rails. They are the most famous for their Hybrid series of pistols. SVI markets its products under the brand name Infinity Firearms. The Infinity pistols are sometimes unofficially known by the combined name of Strayer-Voigt Infinity among some enthusiasts, a play on the SVI acronym.
Infinity, a 385-foot yacht, built in Netherlands by Oceanco, was delivered in 2022. Its owner, Eric Smidt, CEO of Harbor Freight Tools, reportedly paid $300 million for the vessel. Infinity can accommodate up to 16 guests in 8 staterooms, with 43 crew members. The interior was designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, featuring a teak deck, steel hull and aluminum superstructure. It currently sails under the Cayman Islands flag. It replaces a 291-foot yacht sold in 2022.
He who chooses the infinite, has been chosen by the infinite.
He has received the divine touch, without which there is no awakening, no opening of spirit; but once it is received, attainment is sure, whether conquered swiftly in the course of one human life or patiently through many stadia of the cycle of existence in the manifested universe.

It took a visit from 2 photographer friends to get us out and photograph the Infinity Bridge at Stockton-on-Tees.
This was my mother during a snowstorm back in the 1940's in Woodside, Queens, New York. I liked the background, but I wanted something more interesting, so I created a texture, (which I accidentlly deleted...grrrrrr! Fortunately, I saved it here on Flickr, knowing what a ditzhead I can be!) and edited out all the distractions. The effect really gave the shot the look of getting ready to go into the light, which my mom did on Christmas of 2008. This time of year makes me miss her even more than usual....
