Wanted to shoot this bridge for a while (after seeing photos on flickr), work took me to Darlington last night, so i had a little detour,.. if you seen a 'madman' on the bridge at 4am,.. it was me.
We decided to have a look to Middlesboro & take some pics of the transporter bridge & the infinity bridge.
This shot was taken on the way over the Infinity bridge. It was lit very well from below but I needed to paint a little light with a torch onto the top edge of the bridge support on the left to brighten it up a tad.

The infinity pool at the Desert Islands Resort on Sir Bani Yas Island is one of those pools where you could spend an entire afternoon without getting bored. The pool was just the right temperature and sitting close to the edge watching the sunset and the sea in the distance was a perfect way to end the day. I just had to come out for a few minutes and capture the moment…

the infinity Pool at the Marina Bay Sands Skypark.
Was there with the wife & we were fortunate to be able to get to view the pool. From what I understand, the management only aceded to the request to view the pool after 7pm.

We were part of the 1st 1000 (after the news , it was probably 1st 2000) visitors to visit the Skypark.
Details of the Skypark:
The Sands SkyPark is an architectural masterpiece sitting on top of the three hotel towers at Marina Bay
Sands. This 1.2 hectare tropical oasis is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall and large enough to park four-anda-
half A380 jumbo jets. It extends to form the one of the world’s largest public cantilevers.

Part of our visit to Skaftafell National Park involved a trek across a sandur. Walking across the lifeless landscape through light rain and heavily overcast conditions was dull drudgery. So we just put our heads down and continued across the uneven ground, walking through the mist seeing only 50m or so of rubble in front of us.
To give me some focus, I decided to try and make a photo that captured the seemingly interminable hike. When we came across this bridge (the only feature in the otherwise featureless landscape) I took my time to get the angle that best reprented the bleak infinitude of the environment and our walk. Thankfully the clouds on the horizon lifted too, showing the distant mountain -- our destination -- infinity's end, so to speak.
Sandurs are deserts formed of sediments deposited at the end of glaciers by by meltwater. The frequent volcanic eruptions beneath the Vatnajökull icecap result in the Skeiðarársandur sandur pictured here. It's the largest sandur in the world and, as I found, not much fun to traverse.
