Wilhelm Hallen is a listed building ensemble with more than 20,000 square meters of usable space of the old Winkelhof iron foundry in Berlin-Reinickendorf.

The red brick ornaments and the iron framework, above which a row of shed roofs stretch into the sky, were created between 1898 and 1918 and have hardly changed since then. Since the iron foundry closed in 2014, the existing building has remained untouched, so that daylight still falls through the sooty panes of glass as the master mason Malingriaux saw it a hundred years ago.

From September 10th to 18th, 2022, the Wilhelm Hallen were a venue of the Berlin Art Week.

The Lauchhammer Bio-Towers were built in the 1950s to clean the huge amounts of phenol contaminated water with the help of bacteria. The towers are the remaining part of a huge cokery plant which was located at the site. Today they are a fascinating landmark and can be visited: www.lausitzerseenland.de/en/discover/industrial-heritage/...

The Alte Harburger Elbbrücke (Old Harburg Elbe Bridge) is another historic structure located in the Harburg district of Hamburg, Germany. Completed in 1899, this bridge was part of a major infrastructural effort to connect Hamburg with the southern regions across the Elbe River.

Its steel arch design, adorned with riveted construction, stands as a masterpiece of industrial engineering from the late 19th century. While modern bridges nearby now handle most of the traffic, the Alte Harburger Elbbrücke has been preserved as a cultural and architectural landmark. It is still accessible for pedestrians and cyclists, making it a wonderful place for a stroll and exploration. (Quelle/source: Internet)
