for your children and your children's children. Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance :-)

N&W 611 blasts out of Montgomery Tunnel with the 1986 edition of the Independence Limited. This was the first morning of a five day excursion between Roanoke, VA and St. Louis, MO.
This shot of a cygnet was captured by myself whilst its mother was watching over it on the 3rd of September 2013. The distance between them demonstrates the swan giving the cygnet independence, hence the title given. The light, angle, colours and reflections all add to this picture in different ways. Please comment and favourite!
This week, our independence is declared as the lads and I descend on Europe once again for another full scale Urbex War!
The itinerary is bold! Our gear and equipment at the ready. In a matter of days, whilst others sleep, we strike!
Thank you in advance to all of our good friends abroad that have helped us plot our course of action. Stay clear of the drama, and you will find true generousity out there.
In the meantime, I leave you with this shot.
Much thanks to B who put the work in to make this location happen! Only one thing would've made this day more epic, and you know what that is! "Excuse me miss, but might I..."
An historic building at Independence Mine State Historical Park. Prior to the end of World War II, this was the site of a gold mine employing about 200 workers. In 1982, it was designated a state historical park to preserve the remaining 22 buildings still standing.
"Independence Day 2021 (horizontal):" Prescott's fireworks celebration at Watson Lake with Thumb Butte seen in the skyline behind. Some of the fireworks were so bright that they cast a nice light on the rocks near my vantage point perched atop the Granite Dells and a colorful glow in the water below.
INDEPENDENCE
1976 Bruno & Stillman Down East Yacht – 42’
“Independence” is a particularly elegant version of the classic Bruno & Stillman 42’ downeast motor yacht. Designed by renowned naval architect Royal Lowell, the Bruno & Stillman 42’ is considered one of the finest examples of the downeast style and can be seen in harbors throughout New England on both working fishing vessels and pleasure craft. Bruno & Stillman produced over 400 comparable boats in the early 1970s and was the leading provider of this type of boat, the authentic predecessor to the modern versions we see from Hinckley and Sabre. Independence was launched in 1976, the bicentennial anniversary of American independence, and features extensive brightwork of varnished mahogany and an extended refinished salon for a luxury cruising experience.

It commemorates the country's declaration of independence from Pakistan in the late hours of 25 March 1971 by the "Father of the Nation" Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman before he was arrested by Pakistani forces.

This photo is a representation of freedom and independence. Yes it is a car but stop and think for a moment of all the adventures you can have because you have a car. You have the freedom to just jump into your car and go where ever you want to and are not dependent on anyone else to take you where you need to go. If you are feeling down you can jump in the car, put music on loud and go for a drive. How fortunate some of us are to have this ability to be both free and independent.
Independence Rock was the most-noted landmark on the emigrant trails west of Fort Laramie. An oval outcrop of granite rock, it is 1,900 feet long, 700 feet wide, and rises 128 feet above the range.

The Independence Palace (1966) in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, was the South Vietnamese Presidential Palace until April 30, 1975, when North Vietnamese tanks crashed through the palace's front gate.

A play around with filters and layers to produce this faux painted composition shot for 4th July weekend.
Our 4th of July here in Indiana was soooo rained out. This is about as close as I could get for this weeks Monday's Weekly Photo Challenge "red, white and blue" or something patriotic!

Independence Hall is where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were debated and adopted. The building was completed in 1753 and was the Pennsylvania State House. It was the principle meeting place of the Second Continental Congress from 1775 to 1783 and was the site of the Constitutional Convention in 1787.
