Rising high on Dartmoor near Devil’s Tor, this ancient river winds its way down through Tavistock where it joins the River Tamar and forms the Bere peninsula. Its tributaries include the Collybrooke, River Burn, River Wallabrooke, River Lumburn, and River Walkham.
The Tavy feeds Tavistock Canal, which was once an important trading route connecting Morwellham quay to Tavistock
The river is navigable inland as far as Lopwell, where a weir marks the normal tidal limit, about a 9-mile (14 km) journey from North Corner Quay at Devonport. River transport was an important feature of the local farming, mining, tourism and forestry economies. Its mouth is crossed by the Tavy Bridge which carries the Tamar Valley railway line.
The River provides opportunities for all types of recreational activities from kayaking and swimming to bird watching and fishing. Situated on the banks of the Tavy, Tavistock Abbey is thought to be the birthplace of the iconic Cream tea!

S.R. Drake Memorial Church:
Description of Historic Place
The S. R. Drake Memorial Church, located at 165 Murray Street, is situated on the north side of the street between Darling and Dalhousie Streets, in the City of Brantford. This two-storey brick building was designed with elements characteristic of the Loyalist style and was constructed in 1856.
The property was designated for its historic and architectural significance by the City of Brantford under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act (By-law 188-85).
Heritage Value
The S. R. Drake Memorial Church is associated with the Underground Railroad. Some American run-away slaves fled to Upper Canada via the Underground Railroad system and settled in groups along the Grand River. The Black Settlement of Ontario began after the American Revolution when a group of free blacks, who fought alongside the British, journeyed to Canada, with other settling Loyalists. Those who belonged to the African Methodist Episcopal Church formed the Society of Coloured Methodists, and as early as 1834, they worshipped in private homes. Later, a parcel of land was purchased and a frame church was built. In 1896, the existing brick building was constructed.
In 1856, the denomination changed their name from “African” to “British” to give their place of worship a greater Canadian identity. The new name also protected the congregation from fear of being recaptured by American slave owners or their bounty hunters. During 1956, in honour of the Centennial of the Canadian British Methodist Episcopal Church, the Brantford church was named the S.R. Drake Memorial, in honour of the Revered S.R. Drake, who was the pastor from 1902 until 1909. Rev. Drake was responsible for the incorporation of the British Methodist Episcopal Church, in 1913.
The S. R. Drake Memorial Church was built with elements characteristic of the Loyalist style. The original church, a simple frame building, was constructed for temporary use. It was replaced, in 1896, by the current yellow-brick building. The church is box-like and the gabled roof is steeply pitched. The round top windows on the upper level have rock-faced brick voussoirs, which are mirrored by a small rectangular two over two sash window, on the lower level. A date stone exists on the Murray Street facade indicating the church's founding of 1856, as well as the church's construction of 1896.

Character defining elements that contribute to the heritage value of the S.R. Drake Memorial Church include its:

For the category I had 5 parts that I had to include in the build: Plate 1×2 with Door Rail, Barb Large Flexible, Brick 1×1 with Headlight, Plate with Angular Extension, and the Scorpion. I’d been wanting to do a star-fighter for a while and given the required parts selection, a star-fighter in the shape of a scorpion seemed like the obvious choice.

Mussaendas belong to the Rubiacea family which also includes the Gardenia, Ixora, Pentas and coffee plants (Coffea arabica). This red one is not the most common, usually they are coral or pale rose. This shrub is sometimes referred to as "Bangkok Rose". It produces a showy display in shades of white, pink, salmon to red, depending on the variety. While the the bushes are not so attractive in winter (when they can lose their leaves if cold enough) they are a valuable addition to a tropical or subtropical garden for their showy display over an extended period in the warm months.
Mussaendas behoren tot de Rubiacea-familie, die ook de Gardenia, Ixora, Pentas en koffieplanten (Coffea arabica) omvat. Deze rode is niet de meest voorkomende, meestal zijn ze koraal of lichtroze. Deze struik wordt ook wel "Bangkok Rose" genoemd. Het produceert een opzichtige weergave in de kleuren wit, roze, zalm tot rood, afhankelijk van de variëteit. Muito delicada, bonita e chama a atenção. Ela pertence à mesma família do café, a rubiácea. Também recebe o nome de mussaenda-arbustiva no Brasil. Também é chamada de flor-de-trapo, devido ao seu formato "amarrotado". Dura bastante aberta e é uma "folha-flor" duradoura. Dentro dela existe uma flor pequena de 5 pétalas cuja cor varia de acordo a cor da planta: Nas corais, amarela, Nas vermelhas, creme e nas brancas cor laranja. Muito interessante.

We only had a short time in Merzouga before heading off again, and that allowed me just an hour to walk a short distance into the desert for pictures.
The desert here was far from pristine, with plastic bottles, pipes and wires, camel droppings, water towers and all manner of other man-made stuff scattered about. As such, these images include a small amount of cloning to remove the worst of the debris.
In meteorology, a cloud is an aerosol consisting of a visible mass of minute liquid droplets, frozen crystals, or other particles suspended in the atmosphere of a planetary body or similar space. Water or various other chemicals may compose the droplets and crystals. On Earth, clouds are formed as a result of saturation of the air when it is cooled to its dew point, or when it gains sufficient moisture (usually in the form of water vapor) from an adjacent source to raise the dew point to the ambient temperature. They are seen in the Earth's homosphere, which includes the troposphere, stratosphere, and mesosphere. Nephology is the science of clouds, which is undertaken in the cloud physics branch of meteorology. There are two methods of naming clouds in their respective layers of the homosphere, Latin and common. Genus types in the troposphere, the atmospheric layer closest to Earth's surface, have Latin names due to the universal adoption of Luke Howard's nomenclature that was formally proposed in 1802. I moved my trail cam to include the Spanish Peaks and my little windmill. I propped the camera against a small dead stump I dragged out of the woods. these Deer are so cautious, it took the buck 20 mins to get the courage to tiptoe around the camera because it wasn't there 2 days ago. This view is better but only for the morning light. I wish we had some nice clouds over the mountain which we always do, but not tis morning....
I'm thinking of setting up a real blind this Winter so I can use my good Canon gear. This trail cam is pretty bad for detail and resolution, although the Deer and other animals would probably never come in with a larger blind in the meadow, even if it was camouflaged well.

Description of Historic Place
The Beaumont Knitting Mill, located at 586 Main Street, is on the west side of Main Street, north of Joseph Street, in Glen Williams, Town of Halton Hills. The three storey stone mill was established in 1878 with several later additions.
The property was designated by the Town of Halton Hills in 1990 for its heritage value under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act (By-law 1990-0045).
Heritage Value
The Beaumont Knitting Mill was established by James Leslie, whose family was among the earliest settlers in the Glen Williams area. It is also associated with Samuel Beaumont, a father of industry in Glen Williams who began to manufacture woollen goods at the Beaumont Knitting Mill in 1878. He made several additions to the mill over the years including a one-and-a-half-storey stone addition that fronts Main Street, which was added circa 1880.
The Beaumont Knitting Mill is the oldest remaining mill in Glen Williams. It is an example of the industrial style building common in small Ontario towns in the 19th century. Typical of this type of structure are the mill's coursed rubble limestone construction, symmetrical composition and mansard roof with dormers. The additions to the building reflect the evolution of industrial activities at the mill over time.
