An evening view of the 106-year-old Paramount Theatre, located on Congress Avenue in the heart of downtown Austin. The theater opened in 1915 as the Majestic Theatre, and was renamed the Paramount Theatre in 1930.

Over the years the Paramount has played host to a wide variety of acts ranging from vaudeville, musicals, legitimate theater, and movies. Today it continues as a live performance and movie theater venue.

The historic building was designed by architect John Eberson in the classical revival style, and has a seating capacity of 1,270. The Paramount was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1976, and was listed for a second time on the NRHP two years later as a significant property in the Congress Avenue Historic District.

With a population of just over one million residents, Austin is the 10th largest city in the United States. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos Metropolitan Area, now with a population of 2.3M, also is the fastest growing large metropolitan area in the country having added more than 579,000 residents since 2010.

The morning was perfect for a beautiful sunrise. As I watched the sun rise over the line of trees, the clouds obscured the full view, but added another layer of interest to the shot

Dog Town at Soi Ari (ซอยอารีย์ 3)

A good outlet to unwind so I stopped by at this dog cafe for a smoothie and met these furry big and small creatures. No crowd when I visited so had fun taking photos and playing with these adorable cute dogs. Dogs are well-behaved and loved to be fussed. Brilliant interior decorations and friendly staff. The café is committed in safety and cleaning guidelines, practicing good hygiene and ensuring that guests wear masks, gloves and plastic footwear.

I love animals so it’s a first time amazing and unusual experience for me so would check out other animal cafes soon.

The two-storey boathouse at Devoke Water was built around 1772 from stones gathered on the shore of the tarn. It was originally designed to provide shelter, and had a fireplace. Peat was dug from nearby to fuel the fire.

The building was constructed by John Jackson, a farmer from Dalegarth, and John Bowman, a fisherman. Locals would pay 2 shillings a year for the right to fish the tarn

Looking west from the rear of the boathouse you can see the remains of the stable. I used a Lee Big Stopper for a long exposure photograph enhancing the movement of the clouds.

Following on from my previous photo, can I thank each & every one of my wonderful Flickr friends for your concern, prayers & get well wishes for my husband Martin. As we feared he does have a tumour in his lung. We're now waiting on biopsy results. A very worrying time but we're trying to stay as upbeat & positive as possible.

I visit the John F Kennedy Arboretum near New Ross quite regularly so I have decided to take a photo each month (from approximately the same spot) to document the subtle changes in this huge Magnolia tree during the year. According to the metal plaque on the tree the species is Magnolia campbellii 'mollicomata'.

A view of the southwest corner of N. Main St. (left) and W. Washington streets (right) in downtown Bloomington. The W. Washington St. side of this view shows the south side of the square across from the Old McLean County Courthouse, now the McLean County Museum of History.

On the corner is the six-story Livingston Building. Completed in 1903 at a cost of $36,000, it is the first steel frame construction building in Illinois outside of Chicago. Designed by Bloomington-based architect George Miller, the Livingston Building is an example of Chicago School architectural style. The design incorporates many elements which would later be connected to what is now called the Sullivanesque Style, after Louis Sullivan.

The Livingston building was home to the Livingston and Sons department store for its first eleven years, until the store relocated to the four-story building seen in the center of the block in 1914. Walgreen Drug Store and numerous legal and insurance business occupied the buildings between 1927 and 1969. Outside of the businesses which have called the Livingston home, the building was also well known for its roof garden in the early 1900s - a site for many dances and other musical performances.

Seen to the west (right) of the Livingston Building in the 100 block of W. Washington St. are:

▪ Phoenix Block, 1857, 106-108 W. Washington St.

▪ Livingston's Department Store, 1914, 110-114 W. Washington St.

▪ Dr. Crothers Building, 1858, 116 W. Washington St.

▪ Dewenters Building, 1856, 118 W. Washington St.

The seven-story building on the southwest corner of W. Washington and N. Center streets is the Peoples Bank building, completed in 1909.

All of the buildings mentioned are contributing architectural properties in the Bloomington Central Business District listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1985. The district includes roughly twelve square blocks of the city and encompasses 140 buildings, 118 of which are contributing buildings to the district's historic character.

Bloomington is the seat of McLean County. It is adjacent to Normal, and is the more populous of the two principal municipalities of the Bloomington-Normal metropolitan area. Bloomington is home to State Farm Insurance, Country Financial and Beer Nuts. Illinois Wesleyan University is located here, while the neighboring city of Normal is home to Illinois State University and Heartland Community College. Bloomington is 135 miles (217 km) southwest of Chicago, and 162 miles (261 km) northeast of St. Louis. The estimated population of Bloomington in 2019 was 77,330, with a metro population of 191,067.

A. hoch gelegener Übergang im östlichen Alpenhauptkamm.

I've been here countless times, well maybe I could have counted them :) but it's quite a few! Only one time was I lucky enough during the foliage season to have a hint of ethereal mist hovering in the forest.

Standing on the beach watching the sun come up over the horizon as the waves ebbed and flowed, gently lapping on the shore. It was bitterly cold (1 degree) and my fingers were frozen, but it was worth it. In the distance you can see the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse located 11 km (6.8 miles) offshore from Eastbourne. Its distinctive shape is easily recognised as it comprises a large platform supported by a single pillar rising out of the water.
