Believe this to be a new little green heron born this spring in the Rehoboth Bay, Delaware area. There has been a family nesting near the water for the last couple of years. This year they had four offspring. This bird is hunting in the marsh grasses submerged by the rising tide.

These two male great blue herons had a confrontation over the nest at lower right. The bird on the right was on the nest calling out presumably to a mate when the other male showed up. The second male was chased off and the first male continued its calls.

Been to Gardens By The Bay several times and it still never fails to captivate my attention each time I visited. This shot was taken from the Singapore flyers with my iPhone! Not much of a sunset really! But still beautiful nonetheless!

Once in a while a photo captures the right conditions to offer the semblance of 3 dimensions causing the key subject to come out at the viewer. It seemed to us to be the case for the beak and head with this photo. Red advances whereas blue recedes, sharp focus and edges advance whereas blurred and vague edges recede, and shadows can enhance the affect also. Of course when desired the pros can do it all in Photoshop.

This purple gallinule is a beautiful bird of many shades We chose the photo in Comment 1 below to show some while maintaining the 3d theme. It is the same bird as the subject bird.

The Colosseum was constructed by emperors of the Flavian dynasty and was completed in 80 AD. It is now nearly 2000 years old and still stands majestically and is the most visited landmark in Rome today. Here is a sunrise shot taken with my iPhone.

Skeppsbron is both a street and a quay in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm. Watching the sunrise at Skeppsbrokajen that runs along the street has a unique feel like no other. Here is a picture of how it looks like.

This is the first spotting of the red-headed woodpecker by us in the Rehoboth Bay, Delaware area, and we have visited the area for many years. This summer a pair of these birds showed up and have been seen over a period of two weeks so far. Hopefully they will nest.

This is another shot I took at Notre Dame, Paris! I was there during blue hour and waited some time for this shot! I was blessed to have a boat passing by just as I was about to take the first light. My photography hobby has been motivating me to get up early. Kinda enjoy it. Hope you are enjoying your journey as well. :)

This is the same flower as the one I posted yesterday, but taken at a lower pov and with a different focus. Here the sun is the focus instead of the flower and I filtered it to bring out the sunshine. This might be what my friend Gunta has suggested to be a flowerscape rather than a flower shoot! Which one appeal to you more?

We came across a strip of a blooming wild flower in October, a wild aster we believe, which hummed and buzzed as we walked by. It was teaming with life; butterflies, flies, bees, etc. In the day we were there, several of the above cabbage whites showed up along with one each of the orange and black pearl crescent in comment one and the tiny eastern tailed blue in comment two.

The cabbage white is one of the first butterflies seen in the spring and one of the last seen in the fall.

Not all sunrises can be seen, this one in particular was hiding behind thick cloud from where I stood. As I looked back I realized part of the city was already basking in the morning sun! Creating a splendid scene for a cityscape shot! What do you think?

The Changi Broadwalk is a 2.2km boardwalk at Changi Point, Singapore. At its western most section is a portion known as sunset walk. Here is a picture taken with my iPhone at this place and you can understand the reason for its name!

This was taken this morning with my iPhone. Been here a few times but never did with a good weather. Today's effort finally paid off to have a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise at Notre-Dame. What do you think? Comments are welcomed!

Chinese Garden (裕华园) is a park in Jurong East, Singapore. Built in 1975 and designed by an architect from Taiwan, the Chinese Garden’s concept is based on Chinese gardening art. One of its most photographed feature is the twin pagoda. Here is a picture I took this morning while doing my morning stroll. Great place for morning exercise.

After a long business trip, I am happy to be back in Paris with my family. Went with my wife to enjoy an evening walk by the river seine to watch the sunset. Here is a shot I took while my wife was busy snapping at the swans.

The Jardin des Tuileries is a public garden located between the Louvre Museum and the Place de la Concorde. The Place du Carrousel is a part of the garden facing the Louvre museum. Here, the Louvre museum can be seen in the background of this image.

Finally discovered the beauty of the scrub jay, a bird that is endemic to the state of Florida. This photo taken at Scrub Hill Trail, Florida.

It was a cloudy day in Kiel, undeterred I went for my morning exercise. When I was almost done, I saw the sky lited up in amazing colours and coincidentally an unknown sculpture was right next to me. This was what I saw! What do you think?

The greatest challenge for iPhone camera is on night scenes. I have tried many different scenes but rarely successful mainly due to the lack of long exposure feature. However one pic stands out from the many failures. What do you think of this image?

I took a leisurely stroll and admired the serenity of this reservoir park. The picture showed the park’s iconic rocket-shaped tower against the setting sun, which formed a lovely scene that attracts many park goers. At the top of the tower, one wil be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the reservoir waters and adjacent greenery. A beautiful place to relax and for watching sunsets.

Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is a calm and peaceful reservoir park in the north of Singapore. It is situated next to the Orchid Country Club and features a fishing jetty over turquoise waters and balmy breezes as seen in this photo.

The shoveler duck is a colorful duck whose plumage change gives it different looks, including greenish head with breeding to black head with eclipse. We have tried to capture some of the looks and present them in the photos in comments below.

The shoveler is well named after its shoveling action for food under water with its larger than usual bill. The bill has a comb like structure for sifting; this structure can be seen in the first photo below, after expansion.

Nyhavn (Danish: New Harbour) is a 17th century waterfront, canal and entertainment district in Copenhagen. The canal harbours many historical wooden ships and it is lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants; and needless to say a popular tourists' spot. I came here in the early hours to capture the serenity and beauty of this place; when the waters are still calm and the streets not yet crowded with tourists. This is Nyhavn through my lens. Enjoy! Have a great Sunday!.

Beautiful moments can happen at the most unsuspecting time! This sunset shot was taken at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park, Singapore on a cloudy drizzling day. I was crazy enough to go when it was still raining, and I was rewarded for being crazy I guess!

Il mio piccolo acero ha perso tutte le foglie, ma questa resiste, barcolla, ma non molla!

La forza della vita, aggrapparsi a qualcosa o qualcuno, non arrendersi mai.

"Viva la vida".

This chipmunk that we found deep in the forest was hiding in plain sight. it thought by not moving it would not be found, and that nearly was the case. We could hardly see it in the light as diminished by the trees; had to turn the speed down and the iso up to photograph it. A little light came through a break in the tree tops which can be seen in the eye reflection.

We ran into two sets of fox cubs at the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. The youngsters showed different looks while doing different moves. This one was resting next to the fox hole and seemed to be laughing at the photographer although ignoring us.

A few more 'looks' are given in photos in the comments below.

Arc de Triomphe is one of the most photographed landmark in Paris but it's full beauty is hard to capture. This is my first attempt to capture this magnificent landmark in its full morning glory!

Cherry blossoms at Mt. Wuling (in explore)

This portrait of a sora does not present the typical position in which one finds the sora to photograph. The sora is a very secretive bird and is usually not in the light but is foraging around in the wetlands foliage where it can disappear rapidly - and often does. On this photo day it came out into the sunlight for a few moments and even took on this posture of, seemingly, a photographic pose for a second. Note the greenish foot placed visibly in a stately manner.

The Pinnacle@Duxton is an award-winning residential building in Singapore's city center. The project features the world's two longest sky gardens of 500m each, on both the 26th and 50th floors. It is the world's tallest public residential building.

Was having dinner at East Coast Seafood Centre. The row of restaurants is just on the right, outside of this picture. The restaurants have a direct view to the seas and a very pleasant place for dinning. I stood on the break waters for this sunset shot.
