Chamois cress (Pritzelago alpina 'Ice Cube' syn. Hutchinsia alpina `Icecube' and Hornungia alpina), mid August. A low-growing evergreen perennial that produces fragrant white flowers.

Because it had just been taken out of the river, this ice block was clear. Once it is out in the air for a while it'll go opaque

Magnolia bracts with tiny ice cubes. A Magnolia flower bud is enclosed in a bract rather than in sepals. (In botany, a bract is a modified or specialized leaf.) The bract is an aspect of Magnolias that is considered to represent an ancestral state.

 

Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. — in Hillsboro, Oregon.

I wanted to see if I can take a cool shot of ice cubes. It didn't work, but when I changed the levels it looked better than before so I kept it

I love these. Plastic icecubes formed as butterflies which you can use over and over!

Trying something new

Some very odd formations in my icecubes. No idea how they formed (though I have some guesses).

The view through a glass of water and ice cubes.
