Out of focus and blah. I was extremely hungry when I captured this.

Ice melting on a hot day.

With the UniKlinikum as background.

The UniKlinikum is a crazy building. When 2/3 of it was finished, they realized that the ground layers on which it stood were not solid enough to bear the full weight, so then they just stopped building.

(Update: I see that this photo is viewed a *lot*, compared to my other photos. 48 times, at the time of writing this update. Did someone link to it from a blog or so?)

I think my iPhone has reached its limit for photo storage -- this is about the 49th image and it's not reassembling properly.

I love my fake ice cubes from Bed Bath & Beyond. The downside is that I can't put them in a blender to make ice-blended margaritas.

As seen at Virgin Megastore. These shaped, rubbery icecube trays are getting really popular.

This is my freind Eric. We helped him find a peice of the glacier floating down stream. Then we chewed on it for a few.

Because it had just been taken out of the river, this ice block was clear. Once it is out in the air for a while it'll go opaque

Magnolia bracts with tiny ice cubes. A Magnolia flower bud is enclosed in a bract rather than in sepals. (In botany, a bract is a modified or specialized leaf.) The bract is an aspect of Magnolias that is considered to represent an ancestral state.

Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees did, the flowers evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. — in Hillsboro, Oregon.
