"it's the last shot, strike a pose!"

The only private temple discovered (1936) so far in Alexandria was situated in the Ras el-Soda area on the agricultural road leading to El Montazah and Abu Qear and near the eastern company of Linen. In the early 19th and 20th centuries, the temple was transported to Bab Sharq.

It was built by the Roman charioteer Ezadoras (Isidore) as a thank giving for Isis, on the recovery of his foot which was broken when he fell off his chariot.

There are also four Ionic marble columns and five marble statues were placed between them;

The 3rd statue:

It is the largest one and it belongs to goddess Isis who is depicted in the Greek form as a standing figure of a woman wearing a tunic with a knot on her dress, she is also crowned with two horns and a sun disk, and she holds the situla (jar for sacred water).

This is an Isis brand AM/FM radio cleverly shaped as the word RADIO. The model number is 20-1.

Although this photo is included in my radios of the 70's I do believe this is an early 80's product.

Today is a very important day in my life ... My last official day of work as an employee of the Library in Ottawa, where I worked for nearly 30 years. I am keeping only beautiful souvenirs of this time. And I want to say hello to my dear friends and colleagues over there.

And then I moved to Belgium .... Isis, my cat behind the curtain, was often my first contact in the morning. During some crazy days she was a real joy for me ... she still is ...

Certains jours, plus difficiles que d'autres, Isis est le meilleur des calmants que je puisse avoir ....

A statue of the goddess Isis from the palaestra of the Baths of the Forum.

Inv. 154. 2nd century CE. Marble.

No, not that ISIS.

This is a magnificent bronze sculpture in Kingsbrae Garden of the ancient Egyptian goddess Isis, by British sculptor Simon Gudgeon, unveiled Saturday, June 20, 2015.

My camera and I spent a considerable amount of time with her on the 3rd of July. Here I have isolated a small portion of the sculpture and added a texture to the sky behind her.

Isis, oh, Isis, you're a mystical child.

What drives me to you is what drives me insane.

Representación de Isis en fayenza; dinastía XXVI, 664-525 a.C. Pieza cedida por la Fundación Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisboa.

This Morris Isis, registered 20th February 1956, had it's last liability 01/10/1988. The car is outside a small garage/workshop firm in the Greet area of Birmingham. Looking at the road surface under it UUO 433 has not moved for some time but the tyres are still inflated and she is still complete.

The Isis was one of the trio of Morris cars, the Cowley 1500 was cheapest at £834.12d then the very popular Oxford at £884.17d and finally the Isis at £911.17 both the Cowley and the Oxford had a 4cylinder engine the Isis had a six.

I must quote the 1957 Daily Express Motor Show guide for the Morris Isis "Incidentally' the spring on the handbrake has been improved" You don't get info like that from Jeremy Clarkson!

Dating from the 1st and 2nd century AD, these Tower Tombs were one of the many impressive sights to be found at Syria's most famous tourist attraction.

In addition to the complete lack of regard for human life, ISIS/ISIL had no respect for the culture and history of the areas they invaded. This picture is of one of the Tower Tombs in the Valley of The Tombs at Palymra, The taller towers were dynamited by ISIS/ISIL in 2015, I'm unsure if the shorter towers in this photo survived or not.

Some of Palmyra will no doubt be restored back to it's former grandeur but I fear these towering sandstone monuments dating from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD are lost for good.
