The interior of Chiltern Railways Rail Head Treatment Unit 960301. The tanks contain water for the high pressure water jetter. Note how the interior panelling has been stripped out, leaving the bare metal shell of the former class 117 unit. This was done to save weight so more water could be carried.

Park Ward Bugatti T41 Royale Limousine #41131 - ALB 2
The Bugatti Type 41, better known as the Royale, was a large luxury car with a 4.3 m wheelbase and 6.4 m overall length. It weighed approximately 3175 kg and was fitted with a 12.7 L straight-8 engine.
The Type 41, 'La Royale', was a grand project, only to be sold to persons with royal blood. The number of Royales build has been a disputed matter. Number from 6 to 8 have been suggested. Looking at all the production and restoration of the Royales, it looks like there are 6 chassis produced, wearing 11 bodies. Of these, 6 or 7 are in existence - one of them is a rebuild. The first chassis may in reality have been 2 different chassis, though, making a total of 7 produced.
Ettore Bugatti planned to build 25 of these cars, and sell them to royalty. But even royalty was not buying such things during the Great Depression, and Bugatti was able to sell only 3 of the 6 or 7 chassis built from 1926 to 1933. None to a royal. Today a Bugatti Royale is both one of the largest and rarest cars in the world.
This Royale, chassis 41131, is the fourth out of six or seven examples built and was sold to Englishman Captain Cuthbert W. Foster, heir to a large department store in Boston USA, through his American mother, in 1933. He had his Royale fitted with a luxurious limousine body constructed by Park Ward in the style of a 1921 Daimler Mr. Foster had once owned. Before the car was delivered to the customer, Ettore's son Jean traveled to London to screw on the Elephant radiator cap and to start the engine.
In 1946, the Captain eventually sold his Royale to British Bugatti dealer Jack Lemon Burton who was forced to replace the huge tires with ones from an artillery piece, necessitating the need to remove the skirting from the fenders. In 1956 it was sold to American Bugatti collector John Shakespeare, becoming part of the largest collection of Bugattis at that time. He frequently used the luxurious machine for lengthy road trips and always without any problems. In 1963 financial problems forced him to sell his entire collection and in Fritz Schlumpf he found a willing buyer. Upon receiving the Park Ward Limousine, Schlumpf had the the upholstery redone.
Today the fourth Type 41 Royale is still part of the Schlumpf Collection, which is now government owned.
It is on permanent display at the Musee National de l'Automobile in Mulhouse alongside another Royale. It is amazing to note that, with the exception of the interior, the car is still very original; a testament to the exceptional build quality.

Interior remodeling project completed in Carderock Springs, Bethesda, Maryland. A custom fireplace, new custom windows, and shelves with built-in lighting.
This is an important room in our home, though only modestly sized, roughly thirteen feet square. It is a warm, comfortable, cozy place, but it is difficult to seat more than five people there. I decided to paint a watercolour of it. This is not that painting. This is an illustration, so that when you see the picture you will already have an understanding of the space. This is necessary because of the way I chose to render the perspective.
Finally got around to taking a shot of my red interior, I couldn't be happier with the colour combination I managed to get.
LAMEGO (Portugal): Interior da Igreja do Mosteiro das Chagas.
O Mosteiro das Chagas, destinado a freiras clarissas, foi fundado em 1588 pelo bispo de Lamego, D. António Teles de Menezes, cuja pedra tumular se pode ver na capela-mor.
Algumas capelas, de talha ricamente policromada, foram transladadas para o Museu de Lamego, onde podem ser admiradas.
O templo é de uma só nave, revestida por dois tapetes de cerâmica, do sé. XVII, separados por uma faixa de elegante desenho. A abóbada de berço, com notável eixo e diâmetro de curvatura apresenta-nos uma perspectiva polícroma bem desenhada.
6 Exposures in Photomatix. I got fed up with clearing stuff off of the table and desk, so I left some stuff on the desk. Oh well.
So today i've got 2 really contrasting photos, that couldn't be more different - both taken last weekend during a tour of my local Town Hall which (hopefully) will undergo a massive restoration project in order to return it to its former glory.
This was one of the bed/guest rooms at the very top of the hall, complete with this vivid wallpaper and radiator.

Despite the recent announcement of the closure of 500 some dine-in Pizza Huts (which is what prompted me to go out and check out all the ones within a reasonable distance from where I live), renovations at some of these locations have still been taking place very recently, which would indicate that they aren’t on the list. The first of these I've seen is at this VA Beach one. The new décor package is in line with what I’ve seen at most newer carryout locations (example), which has a look that's far removed from the classic Pizza Hut image. There's a definite attempt being made to have things look more sophisticated, with a heavy emphasis on tones of brown and tan. Seating and lighting have a sleek, modern appearance, and some very nice photographs of Americana are hung up around the dining room. I think a lot of retail enthusiasts would look at this décor and call it cold and sterile, but I personally though the restaurant looks lovely.
Side story: I’d actually been in this one once back in February 2015 when it had the original décor; that visit came after about two hours of driving on the Southside looking for a location that had dine-in (this was before I knew my way around these areas). My GPS kept suggesting nearby Pizza Huts, and every one it took me to was carryout/delivery only! What a time.
