Many of your photos inspire me in some way. This is one of those. Thank you for the inspiration!

note:
A tribute to each and every one of the photographers who had inspire me.
Sorry for the 'not very original' title btw.
p/s: My original selfie didn't turn out the way i wanted today. So I did this shot with my sister, Ava. I've wanted to do this shot for a while, originally planned for a selfie as well. But I felt my sister would make a better subject. Plus, she's a lot better than me at staying very still for the 10-13 seconds shutter time. :)

For the second of the 2 trips to local Heritage Railways over the Jubilee Weekend in June 2022, I went to the Aln Valley Railway for a trip on a train and to inspire a school friend to take his family including a grandson on the train sometime and to support his local Heritage Railway..
NCB no 60 is an 0-6-0ST built by the Huslet Engine Company to an Austerity Locomotive design as Works No 3686 and was later classified by LNER as a J94. NCB no 60 was mainly in the Durham area coalfield for its working life and did quite a bit of work across Lines leading to the Lambton Staithes at Sunderland on the River Wear.

58 / 120. Inspire Your Heart With Art Day
I purchased this cross at the Traditional Spanish Market in Santa Fe in 2008 because I was taken with "crosses as art" when I lived there and I thought this one particularly lovely and unique. When my mother visited a few years later, she fell in love with it and I subsequently gave it to her. It now hangs in her bedroom, the palm fronds her annual addition from Palm Sunday mass. For her it is a religious icon ... it pleases me that she derives pleasure and comfort from it.

When my irises bloom I know winter is almost at an end which inspires me to get out in the garden & even without the eyes they make you smile.
Continuing my series Inspiring Asanas...
Here is another artwork, reflecting my creative visionof the same asana, I posted earlier, only with the Yin-Yang twist :-) We usually do this Butterfly asana (Badhakonasana) at the middle part of each yoga session.
So, recorded this asana, performed by my husband and myself with long exposure, keeping my camera fluttering above :-)
...still not sure, we were dreaming of butterflies or butterflies were dreaming of us :-)
As per usual I've cast my texture digi-magic , enhancing the image by layers of textures with our origami papers, including Chiyogami paper with a pattern made of Katsushika Hokusai's “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”. Also here is featured our origami butterfly design, folded from one uncut square of paper.
Our yoga sessions are usually accompanied by uplifting music and one of the favourite albums to listen to while body-folding is In Flow of Light by Julian Ray :-) You may listen online to full length songs at this site julianray.bandcamp.com/album/in-flow-of-light ...and yes, it's me on the album cover ;-)
This Honda Inspire is a very rare car from Japan over here. This is a model from the second generation of the Inspire built from 1995 until 1999. The car based on the Accord was sold in North America as Acura TL. Like that car it was built in Honda's plant in Ohio.
Nps.gov: Crater Lake inspires awe. Native Americans witnessed its formation 7,700 years ago, when a violent eruption triggered the collapse of a tall peak. Scientists marvel at its purity—fed by rain and snow, it’s the deepest lake in the USA and one of the most pristine on Earth. Artists, photographers, and sightseers gaze in wonder at its blue water and stunning setting atop the Cascade Mountain Range.
The 33-mile historic Rim Drive circumnavigates the lake and is open during summer and early fall (depending on weather and road conditions). Along the drive are 30 overlooks that were designed between 1931 and 1938 to highlight a specific view of the lake, a significant geologic formation in the caldera, or an environmental feature such as a subalpine meadow. Some of these stops have exhibits with information about the view. Other viewpoints leave room for visitor curiosity and discovery.
Where you choose to stop for a view of the lake or to capture the surrounding landscape of the park is a personal preference. Most of these pullouts do not have signs that offer a name or location. The park map indicates major stops that help with orientation. On average, visitors take two hours to complete the drive with eight or more stops.
2020a
This morning, I have just added the last 10 photos from Forgetmenot Pond. Not very inspiring, but I wanted them for the record. I almost gave up trying to photograph wildflowers, as it was too windy to keep the flowers in the viewfinder. Next time, I will post a handful of photos taken closer to home on the same trip.
These photos were taken on 3 July 2020, at Forgetmenot Pond, which was my main destination. From this view, you can't see any of the many tents put up just within the edge of the trees; just one of the many picnic tables that were overflowing with people, right along the path that circles the pond!
The weather forecast was for several rainy days in a row, so I wanted to make the most of a sunny day. The past week, I have had to be careful about how many kilometres I drove, before getting a service after the maintenance light came on a week ago, as I didn't want to mess up my car warranty.
On 3 July, however, I decided to drive west of the city, just into the eastern edge of the mountains. It's not a long drive and I was hoping to find some wildflowers before they all go to seed.
What a nightmare few hours, as I think half of Calgary decided to do this trip. So many cars and so many people. Parking lots were overflowing and the main highway was lined with parked cars in many places.
My first stop was at a forested area to have a quick look for wildflowers and to see if there were any fungi that had started growing yet. Very little variety in wildflowers, and I only came across one single mushroom plus a little group of a different species.
From there, I kept driving till I reached Forgetmenot Pond. This is actually a man-made pond, left over from the excavation of a gravel pit. The water is crystal clear. It's just a short walk around the pond, but enjoyable to do. The main road this far into Kananaskis only opens in June each year, as a winter gate at Elbow Falls closes in December for the winter months, to protect the wildlife in the area. This day, though, the path around the pond had a lot of people on it, and some people (families?) had actually set up various tents near the path. I had to keep walking through the trees to avoid everyone. As for Elbow Falls, there were so many cars there that there was no way I was going to even try and call in briefly. This was a Friday, not even a busy weekend day. I suspect this is what it is going to be like the whole of the summer - yikes!
I found the following 4-minute video on YouTube, taken by Kenneth Lori using a DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter and taken on 16 June 2016. It travels over Forgetmenot Pond and the surrounding river and mountains. So beautiful.
Later, it was such a contrast to drive a few of my favourite roads closer to home. A few cyclists and a few cars, but, in between them, it was so quiet and peaceful. Felt so good. There was even one Snipe on a fence post to make this extra bit of driving worthwhile. Not that I need any more Snipe photos to post : ) You might be glad to see a Snipe photo as, soon, it will be back to (oh, no!) American White Pelican photos. Just had to get out for a while on 5 July, partly because my place was feeling much too warm. The drive to and from Frank Lake was roughly 145 kilometers.
Two of the Mountain Bluebird families had vacated their nest boxes. I had a feeling that I was going to miss their fledging - this is what usually happens each year! However, I was so happy to spot a tiny Bluebird fledgling huddled right against the top of a fence post. Just trying to keep safe. And then, suddenly, it was no longer there. I didn't see it fly and I thought it may have dropped down into the grass. However, when I turned my car around to the other side of the road, I found a fledgling (same one?) down in the field, in an area of dried mud rather than tall grass. SO cute.
To help support a small pub/restaurant in the area, I called in and got take-out. One of the young women who work in the cafe was excited to tell me that they now have homemade chili on the menu again. The minestrone soup is also good.
There was still time, after taking a few photos of some of the usual birds, to drive on a road that I have driven so many times before, but not for a while. Happy to see a beautiful Swainson's Hawk perched on a fence post.
Finally reached home around 5:00 pm, after driving roughly 185 km since 9:30 am. So, not a really long drive, and one that still left me with more spare distance before my car had to go in for service yesterday. Hopefully, that will be that, for the rest of the year, as far as my vehicle is concerned!!
He began to look at me very curious without any apprehension. It was good to see that did not inspire any fear for this friend. So, I took my picture trying to capture that curiosity. Then, I thanked him and I withdrew. At the end both had the experience and fortune to cross our worlds.
One of my commercial shoots: Photos featuring Chinese models as wallpapers. Those were downloadable on a Philips microsite. It was for the launch of a new "3D Shaver". The idea was to show four different women: A model, an artist, a office worker and an CEO.
This photo was not one of the final 3 that were offered as a wallpaper. I still like it though, and share it here on flickr.
This is my craftroom/study/guestroom. The wall is now complete! I will always add more dried flowers to the rod though :)

Today, I am free. I've spent the last 8 years in the security of a full time office job and yesterday was my last day. Now I have an exciting (and a bit scary) new life of working for myself ahead of me. So for a boost of encouragement for myself (and hopefully you too!) I'm posting some inspiring words from my flickr favorites.
