Cruising Wilhelmina Bay Antarctica.

I think I must be in the christmas spirt because I am loving all Christmas ornaments right now...and these are too cute for words!

It's showing One degree on the temperature gauge as Black Five 45212 gets away from being held at the level crossing at Townsend fold on Saturday 20th January.

This is from yesterday. I took my camera and went to this forest nearby. My purpose was to catch the autumn colors, but when I got there I didn't see anything inspiring... Until I noticed this beautiful green 'mosscarpet', just before I was leaving. I had to do something with it!

The best ideas come when you least expect it, right?

This came out pretty nice, and I'm quite happy with this even though this is more summery than autumny.

Haven't taken many pictures of the Pavilion in the 8 years I've lived here... but I don't think I've ever seen it without scaffolding up. Thought I'd try taking some 'interesting' shots of it...

Coming into this week at 7DoS, I had a bunch of square photos planned, because I got the week themes mixed up. So, imagine my surprise when I saw all the white photos in the group pool yesterday! lol! The white-on-white and spoons inspired me for today's macro of some powdered eyeshadow...yet another item that has been sitting unused. Thank you, 7DoS people, for your inspiring ways! :))

There is something awe-inspiring, yet terrifying, about being in the realm of perfection. I was photographing a Blue Shark when I heard a yell from topside, "MAKO!" I immediately swiveled around and caught a glimpse of a large shadow streaking off into the depths with lightning speed. My heart started to beat faster and I started to breathe harder as I scanned the water column all around me. Then out of nowhere, a flash of steel blue and teeth shot out of the darkness and charged right towards me. The mako swam to within inches of me, turned, and was gone again. I was in the presence of the perfect predator, and in that brief moment I felt something I still cannot describe...a mix of fear and respect and wonder. What an experience that I will not soon forget.

The inspiring Isle of Skye’s landscapes of sea and rocks have the stuff of fairy tales; they made a strong impression on me when I first explored them years ago, and I can't help coming back over and over again. Balancing the moving clouds over the Cuillin with the water falling over the rock in a near-symmetric composition, this is Impression Nr. 50, Skye.

So universally true is this, the spot where we chance to be always seems the best.

One of the hundreds of photos I've done and never posted. It was taken at the Palm Springs Gay Pride Festival last November.

After yesterday's Monumental decision by SCOTUS on Constitutional rights, I felt it was the right time to finally post it.

So not the most inspiring photo and often viewed as something of a cop out the age old rear view photo without a face. ok so you can see part of my boat race.

I decided to post this for a few reasons the main one being that this is a view we don't often see ourselves and its the one most of the public see and so its nice to know if you can be easily read from the rear, Bet you have all done what I have in the past and seen a woman infront with long hair only to find she has a beard and is a man I think most casual observers wouldn't see anything untoward in this image apart from hip to waist ratio.

Another reason was to see how my hair looks from behind. I have found being lucky enough to still have some hair that people are less likely to read to me because they don't go "oh look she is wearing a wig" even good ones are notable, And so my own hair gives that element of doubt.

I would say my image is almost where I would like it to be without all the transitioning bits and bobs that I am trying to stay away from.

Did I get read yesterday?? In all truth I don't think so or at least I didn't notice and I normally do so I say I wasn't. Or at least I hope not

Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia and Oceania. Indigenous Australians have inhabited the Sydney area for at least 30,000 years, and thousands of engravings remain throughout the region, making it one of the richest in Australia in terms of Aboriginal archaeological sites. During his first Pacific voyage in 1770, Lieutenant James Cook and his crew became the first Europeans to chart the eastern coast of Australia, making landfall at Botany Bay and inspiring British interest in the area. In 1788, the First Fleet of convicts, led by Arthur Phillip, founded Sydney as a British penal colony, the first European settlement in Australia. Phillip named the city Sydney in recognition of Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney.
