The name Hemerocallis comes from the Greek words ἡμέρα (hēmera) "day" and καλός (kalos) "beautiful"and called poetically: Beauty for a day! A magnificent flower that has inspired many poets, but also great painters like Claude Monet. The flowers of most Daylilies, open in early morning and wither during the following night, possibly replaced by another one on the same scape the next day.

Edited for Smile on Saturday's #bokeh in monotone theme
(With a note of thanks to Maria and her team for the inspiring ideas and hard work that they put into this group. I might not like every theme, or have time to take part every week, and occasionally I've got things wrong, but it's truly the most supportive of groups here in Flickrland.)
…and here are another 2 images taken during Inspire’s maiden flight over Lake Hume this past weekend.
As with the previous image my focus was on flying so I had dialed in my exposure settings before take off and then simply controlled the camera for the compositions.
I was at odds with an image that clearly shows my 4WD parked in the scene but as these are my first set of images I’m ok with having a little fun.
Shot with the Inspire 1 Pro and X5 Camera. 1/200th Second, F5, ISO 100
View large and, as always, thanks for looking.

A photographer who zoomed in on an airplane flying overhead couldn’t believe his eyes after he saw a bright rainbow contrail coming out of the back of it !!!
The resulting photos are colorful vapor trails coming out the back of a commercial jet. But just a few days later on July 24, Mukherjee spotted yet another colorful contrail with his own eyes !
The trails in the sky left behind by airplanes are mostly made up of condensed water vapor from airplane engines. Rainbow contrails, or iridescent contrails, are produced by individual water droplets that diffract sunlight.
Mukherjee used his Nikon D5600 with a Sigma 150-600mm attached to capture the images.
Isaiah 61:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Mute swan from behind while it's sailing with the wind. (I like the feather detail in this shot) - How do they keep their feathers THAT white? That thought occurred to me more than once! Standing tall in front of the awe-inspiring Kailasa Temple at Ellora, the Victory Pillar (Dhwajastambha) is more than just an architectural element—it is a symbol of spiritual conquest and imperial devotion. Carved from a single rock in the 8th century under the patronage of Rashtrakuta king Krishna I, the Kailasa Temple is one of the greatest monolithic structures in the world. The Victory Pillar marks the sacred threshold to this grand temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, celebrating not just military victories, but also the triumph of dharma (righteousness) over chaos.
Location: Ellora Caves, India

l always feel impressed once the sky is darker than earth. It was one of the such days when I visited Valencia.
The modern museum construction concept of Valencia is an inspiring architecture.
The dudes down the way made smoke with their tyres. The broouuummmm sounds filled the valley and then so did the haze as it filtered quickly upward caught in an updraft. This cloud reminded me of this as it slowly morphed from dolphin to burlesque skeleton.
Please, no awards or iconed group invitations. Take a look at my favorites/gallery for what inspires me!
