Many of us could spend their life contemplating the beauty of the Yellow Mountains, and understand one of the key sources of Chinese aesthetics.

A song that always inspires when I'm feeling low. Look to the heavens and wish on a star...

What cha wanna be - when you grow up
What cha gonna do - when your time is up
What cha gonna say - when things go wrong
What cha wanna do - when you're on your own
There's a road - long and winding
The lights are blindin' - but it gets there
Don't give up - don't look back
There's a silver linin' - it's out there somewhere
Everybody wants an answer - everybody needs a friend
We all need a shinin' star on which we can depend
N' so tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before - (to find what you're
looking for)
There'll be times - in your life
Ya when you' be dancin' n' shit - but you ain't gettin it
But don't get disillusioned - no, don't expect too much
Cuz if what you have is all you can get - just keep on
tryin' - it just ain't happened yet
Everybody wants ta be winner - everybody has a dream
We all need a shinin' star when things ain't what they seem
So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before - (gotta get where you're
headed for)
Everybody wants some kindness - everybody needs a break
We all need a shinin' star when things get hard to take
So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star
We never wished upon before
I was returning home after taking sunrise shots down at Bridlington's harbour when I saw this. The church spire on Holy Trinity Church looked stunning against the background.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISITS, COMMENTS, AWARDS AND FRO NAY INVITES,
A trip to London today for some photography inspiration. Really enjoyed wandering Elephant & Castle, which provided perfect backdrops for street photography

My friend Karl suggested I do a super wide pano of the Mamore Mountains in the West Highlands of Scotland. Sgurr Eilde Mor is to the left, with the Easain Mountains to the right. Taken from the summit of Stob Mhic Mhartuin, Glencoe.
This should be a board, but I'm not home, so I don't have what I need to build it. And I have very poor internet connection here, so here is my kinda *inspiration board* for week one. I've got lots of images in my mind, and only the names on this list. Now that I read it, there are many more things ...
And I should have added ... my Flickr friends, of course!

I love vintage typewriters and use one daily, so this brilliantly coloured mural immediately attracted my attention. As I’ve spent a big part of my life teaching, the words “Aspire to inspire others and the universe will take note” touched my heart!

Redwood trees with rays of sunlight bursting through the mist.
View on Black and LARGER.
The redwoods along the northern coast of California receive about 70 inches of rainfall each year just from their own needles and branches -- water that condensates and collects from the fog that shrouds these huge trees. As the fog rolls in from the ocean each day, droplets of water condensate and build larger on the needles until they drop to the forest floor. As the fog rolls further inland, occasional breaks in these low-hanging clouds allow sunlight to burst through between the branches. (There is more information about this image on my blog.)

I just self-published my first photo book (photos of the Grand Teton NP). You can see a preview of it at my blog, Your Photo Vision. Since this is a blog read by photographers and wanna-be photographers, I also discuss the advantages and pitfalls to self-publishing through the new print-on-demand format. I'd love to hear your comments.

At least I think it's the South face. Correct me if I'm wrong.
While I'd love to judge myself against this beautiful piece of granite, I know it to be my superior. And until the day it has a Starbucks on the South peak this mountain will never be "conquered." Something about that makes it even more awe inspiring.
"Inspire” 2020
Did you lose your words young one?
Writer’s block, loss for words, language barriers and failure to understand each other are topics that I think about often. As a matter of fact, writer’s block and loss for words are two things plaguing me right now. 2020 has been one heck of a year with so much uncertainty, change and growth for humanity.
It has given me an opportunity to let go of some things that no longer serve me but it has also silenced me in a way. I have always felt like a very vocal person and have tried to use my art and writings to uplift people. But right now, the inspiration to write just isn’t coming to me and it scares the heck out of me.
What if I lose my ability to channel inspiring messages through my art? What if nothing else comes to mind? What if no one cares? Or worse, is listening?
I believe there is a time to listen and a time to speak. I have been listening a lot but now I feel like my power to speak has been blocked and it feels crippling. Releasing a work of art without a piece of writing feels incomplete to me and I have a lot of art ideas but not a lot to say.
Do you ever feel blocked like this?
why do we post photos? I realized that my main flickr motivation is to inspire and to be inspired. Gonna take a flickr break, friends... c u around!

So it feels like forever since my last shoot & with little time to even process images, I needed to make some time for photography. This was from the last outing I had to Noosa & I always look for insiration here when I'm in a rutt. It's just the most amazing place with all sorts of rock formations & bays that face every point of the compass.
I'll be out running again in the morning but will try & get out to shoot on Sunday, the camera has been telling me it needs a salt air fix for ages...lol
Hope you all have a great weekend & hopefully I'll make it around your streams soon.

basically I'm sure you all can come up with your own interpretations of this shot without me sitting here explaining it to you.
pretending you are floating on the side of your house in public attracts a lot of strange stares, along with sitting there with a bag on your head.
Forty eight trips around the sun. I’ve been blessed to witness many inspiring scenes in the company of a lot of wonderful people. It fills my heart with gratitude.
Week 24/52. This week was about telling who inspires me. Of course not only one person inspires me, we have many around us that brings inspiration and makes us a "better you". There's one person that I've loved all my life, and still do. I feel so much gratitude for everything, so much love to my dad who's no longer with us. My dad was my big inspiration in life and still is.
Taken from the mountaintop of Mitsutouge. In actuality, a dog was barking beneath my feet and it was rather noisy. But the photograph conveys awesome silence doesn't it =D? Click here to visit my Facebook Page.
