This weekend I was down at Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit, when a very dignified greying black man walked in. He remarked how the fort had changed since he had first been here decades ago so I inquired as to what circumstances brought him there. It was then I noticed his leather bomber jacket and the label - "Lt. Col. A Jefferson," Then I saw the emblem: Tuskegee Airmen. The room quickly filled with people anxious to hear stories about this living legend, one of the first Negro aviators of WWII. Lt. Col. Jefferson has the further distinction of being one of the three living airmen who were shot down over Germany and held as POW's for nine months and he holds one of the nation's highest military honors. As luck would have it, he actually brought his Congressional Medal of Honor with him to show at the Tuskegee Museum on the grounds. I felt incredibly humbled and inspired to be in this man's presence and can only imagine the sacrifices he's made and the impact his life has had on history. Hero indeed!
A little game of football can have a big impact. Football is being used as a fun way to reach young people in rural Ukraine to get them more active in their own lives and more involved in their communities.
Find out how rural youth are realizing their potential - through football!

I don't trust Luck. I trust Faith.
I'd rather trust on Self-Reliance better than luck.

Outstanding sustainability leadership, both outside and inside the EBRD’s countries of operations, were showcased at a special event at this year’s EBRD Annual Meeting in Tbilisi, Georgia, Inspiring Sustainability Leadership, organised by the Environment and Sustainability Department and the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Team.
Friday 15 May 2015
09:00 – 10:45, Room 2, Parliament Building
The event comprised three important elements:
Launch of the EBRD’s 2014 annual Sustainability Report
The Sustainability Report demonstrates the environmental and social dimensions of sustainability at the EBRD and reports on the results and impact of our performance in 2014. The Report is available primarily as a dedicated microsite and is complemented by a summary print version in pdf format.
Discussion Panel – Inspiring Sustainability Leadership
A panel of recognised sustainability leaders discussed why being a sustainability leader is of such value and how the EBRD can inspire its companies to address sustainability issues in a more comprehensive and holistic manner. Just as importantly, it explored how some of these clients themselves can (or have) become leaders and role models for the business community within their countries and regions.

This senior is inspring. He is a student, football player, has 2 jobs, and he gives back to the community as a volunteer firefighter. It's so nice to see this in young people. :)
A vintage look here with the color and texture...I like the feel of it.

after a couple months of meeting the loveliest variety of people for 'i love what i do' project was such an inspirational and exciting process. thank you all for sharing your stories and thoughts. it is finally coming online - yay! *be inspired to be you* .. and meet Simon.
'It was actually Wayne Hemingway who I really don't give a damn about. He was on TV the other night. He said he first started because he had no money and he needed to pay the rent. So he took all clothes to a market and sold them. And that's how he started designing clothes. He took so many knock backs before he got to where he wanted to be. And I just think - if you really believe in it, just really stick with it, push it. And I wish that when I was younger I've done that more. I was like that when I was younger but I just let money and other jobs take me other directions.
I have a lot of friends who have their normal everyday jobs but they do something that they love on the side. You need something for yourself, something that expresses who you are, something like you and me - a creative eclectic.. (Simon's partner from the other room: 'Weirdo!') Weirdo! Yeah, if that makes sense :)
Also, a lot of boys who collect hide it. It's a common thing. There are actually forums online for people who collect but don't tell anyone about it. But once you embrace it and tell others about it, you find out how many people love to see it. It's all those fears and peer pressure when you are younger that you shouldn't have dolls because you're a boy and stuff like that..' - Simon, Toy Collector (www.toypincher.com)
p.s. please get in touch if you or someone you know would like to take part
Just yesterday, I found Kim Klassen's site (shout out to thruthelookingglass www.flickr.com/photos/captured_echoes/ for hooking me up!) I'm just getting my feet wet in the textures scene and I am beyond excited to join all of these immensely talented people in creating little works of art. I do not consider myself to be 'artsy', but I guess deep down, I am.
The theme right now is "Open" but my brain is fried and I can't come up with anything deep and meaningful, but I wanted to play! So, I thought, Kim has 'opened' my eyes to a whole new world of fun and has 'inspired' me to be AWESOME! :)
