Nudes—stark and glistening,
Yelling in lurid glee. Grinning faces
And raging limbs
Whirl over the floor one fire.
For a shirt verminously busy
Yon soldier tore from his throat, with oaths
Godhead might shrink at, but not the lice.
And soon the shirt was aflare
Over the candle he’d lit while we lay.
Then we all sprang up and stript
To hunt the verminous brood.
Soon like a demons’ pantomime
The place was raging.
See the silhouettes agape,
See the gibbering shadows
Mixed with the battled arms on the wall.
See gargantuan hooked fingers
Pluck in supreme flesh
To smutch supreme littleness.
See the merry limbs in hot Highland fling
Because some wizard vermin
Charmed from the quiet this revel
When our ears were half lulled
By the dark music
Blown from Sleep’s trumpet.

Saturday morning, and with it being a cool, but sunny day, I ask Jools if we should go to the cliffs orchid hunting before or after Tesco.
Before, she said.
Rightyo.
After coffee, e packed the car with shopping bags, camera, knee brace and walking pole, for the short drive to the National Trust's place, early enough not to have to pay, but late enough so that the gate was unlocked.
After parking up, we walked down the two sloping meadows to the narrow path leading to the Cliff Road, as it was on this slope the earliest Early Spiders are usually found.
We walked down, very slowly, then across to the metal frames that sometime have spikes growing in their shade, and found just two rosettes. Well developed, but at least a week away from flowering.
So, back up the slope to the car.
And it was at this point I realised I had underestimated the task, it being all uphill, not too steep, but steep enough so my knee began to complain.
But I did it, back to the car, and sinking into the seat was a relief. We did still have to get to Tesco and walk round there, hunting and gathering, but that is level.
Back to the car with our swag, but instead of going straight home, we drove to Walmer to the Corner Café for breakfast.
Its not often we do this now, but it is good to sit in the café and take in the smells of our meal being cooked while sipping freshly brewed tea.
Breakfast was good, plentiful, and all of it eaten. So we could go back to the car, turn it round and drive home, back for twenty past ten and Huey on the wireless as we unpacked.
And that was it for the day, other than ice packs and taking drugs for my knee. Which is for the tendons not the cartilage that smarts.
There is lower league football to watch, before England played at seven. Not much to report, just pizza for dinner and then sitting down with Jools and Scully to watch the game.
Was OK, though Brasil won 1-0, and deserved to. I did toy with the idea of watching Top Gun II afterwards, but didn't.
Probably for the best.
What are hunting gloves?
Your hunting gloves do more than warm your hands. Use your gloves as an extension of your camouflage coverage. Insulated gloves work well to warm your hands during a winter hunt. Uninsulated or moisture-wicking gloves are intended for use in warmer weather.

Made for a Man named Marco who enjoys fishing and hunting, the gun wasn't made by me.
Lake is green jello.
It was the second time that I saw the Osprey hunting. At the first sight my camera was at home. And in full compliance with Murphys law, the bird got its meal less than 30 meters away from me. At the second time, it was nearly over the middle of the lake. But I am happy anyway. These birds are not a common sight in southern Lower Saxony.

Audi fended off a tough challenge from Peugeot to win the Le Mans 24 Hours Sportscar Race for the 10th time in 12 years on Sunday, with Germany’s Andre Lotterer taking the chequered flag.
Lotterer, whose team mates in the number two Audi were France’s Benoit Treluyer and Switzerland’s Marcel Faessler, won by just over 13 seconds in the fourth-closest finish in the race’s 79 editions.
The number nine Peugeot driven by Simon Pagenaud, Sebastien Bourdais and Pedro Lamy finished second with the French manufacturer’s cars also finishing third, fourth and fifth at the Sarthe circuit.
“This year, we were beaten by a competitor stronger than us,” said Bourdais.
“Audi has developed a highly reliable and fast car. We chose to work on reliability. The objective is met, but we missed by 13 seconds at the finish.”
The third-placed number eight Peugeot, driven by Nicolas Minassian/Stephane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny, finished two laps behind the leading pair.
Audi’s two other works cars, driven at the time by former winner Allan McNish and Germany’s Mike Rockenfeller, both crashed spectacularly on Saturday and the final result was in the balance to the finish as Lotterer held off Pagenaud to defend Audi’s title.
“One more lap and we could not finish we had so little fuel,” said Audi motorsport head Wolfgang Ullrich.
