Two double-crested cormorants hunting together at the local inlet ✔️ ✔︎

Long after the hunt

Black drongo hovering over a rice field, looking for insects.

I only shoot birds with my camera, and I didn't like the gunfire around me, but I found these guys quite fashionable.

I walked on land belonging to the Gjorslev Estate, which was built by a bishop in 1396. Part of the area is open to the public.

Heron on the Isle of Wight pond on Bookham Common on the lookout for any passing lunch . I once saw about twenty heron in flight over this pond ( see shot in first comment box ) , it was quite a sight but weather conditions prevented any sort of a decent capture . There is/was a heronry very close to the pond , but since some issues with water levels and a sluice being replaced I have not seen the herons in large numbers these days .

Picturesque framing of great egrets hunting in a rich intertidal ecosystem, algae-covered rocks and tide pools.

These birds are characterized by their entirely white plumage, long legs, long necks, and pointed beaks

They are typically found in shallow waters, including coastlines, marshes, and lagoons, where they wade to hunt for fish and other small aquatic animals.

Great egrets are known for their elegant and graceful landings, often described as smooth and deliberate, with their long legs and wings outstretched as they approach their landing spot

The calm, clear water of the sea stretches out to a distant horizon under a partly cloudy sky. Shot from Nabq National Park during low tide.

After a day of rain on Saturday, the streams were running hard and pretty on Sunday. Hunting Creek in Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, MD.

While walking in the West Regional Wetlands in Vero Beach I caught this Osprey on the hunt.

August night spent under starry sky counting perseids as my camera was continious shooting sky, hunting for perseids.

However meteor ativity a few days before the date of maximum was not very high and a couple of brightest meteors i saw that night were not in the cameras field of view -/

My trip last weekend to Hunting Island was the first after Hurricane Matthew passed through last year. I felt that a simple black and white told this story of the tree that survived that storm. No one was there to witness the violence the tree saw during the height of the storm, but we see it standing proud afterwards.

Here, a Northern Harrier, also known as a Marsh Hawk, flies over an open field in Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware, USA. These raptors have a flat, owl-like face and a small, sharply hooked bill. These birds are known for their low flight over open habitats such as marshes, grasslands, and fields. They hunt by surprising their prey while flying close to the ground, often circling an area multiple times to listen for sounds and watch for movement before diving in to catch their target.

He was hunting along with other birds in another group. I have done some cropping here.

Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. It is much appreciated.

I was really surprised to see this very healthy and well fed coyote out feeding on Saturday afternoon. I was even more surprised when the Northern Harrier showed up. I watched these two hunt meadow voles together along the edge of this soybean field for about 15 minutes. The coyote caught 3 or 4 and the harrier picked off at least one that the coyote missed.

It's not my highest quality photo, but it was such a cool experience to watch.

Rivalry between jays and magpies. I hear their screams, look out into the garden, grab my camera and - see them only disappearing in the trees

Hunting spot in the Black Forest. It was a quiet en foggy morning almost a year ago. I came around this hunting spot with nice autumn colors.

The American kestrel is usually found in close proximity to open fields, either perched on a snag or telephone wire or hovering in search of prey. The typical falcon-shaped wings are slim and pointed; the tail long and square-tipped. Sexes are of similar size. Adult male plumage is easily told from adult females and juveniles of both sexes. All have 2 bold, dark moustache marks

Hunting Island State Park is in miles east of Beauford, SC......At one time there were many private cabins in the island......I believe this is the only one not destroyed by high beach erosion......A number of the "Forrest Gump" scenes were filmed on and around the lagoon in the inland center.....The light house is still intact. The island stills holds the record for largest mosquito I have encountered.....

Considering how rare they became it felt quite lucky and thrilling to accidentally bump into this beautiful male Hen harrier, hunting over the Zeeland polders. Although usually migrating to southern Europe and north Africa, a number of birds spend the winter in the Netherlands. Estimations of wintering birds range from 400 to 800 species (for 2013-2015). Only a dozen pairs breed in the Netherlands. In any case, the situation is still better there than in the UK where they are hunted to the brink of extinction.

The first part of its scientific name "circus" refers to the particular manner of hunting, often flying in circles as could be seen from this guy.

Jaguars - Wild - Two brothers - apparentely and according to the local boatman, these brothers have been recently separated from their mother, and despite the odds, they are still together. It was a great and unique moment. Better seen Large!
