The hummingbirds have been putting on a good show this summer but it's been hard to get any decent pictures. I took this one morning when the sun was on a tree behind the hummingbird feeder. I was able to blur the background and did a tight crop.
We have seen and heard so many Anna's this weekend it is ridiculous, everywhere. It is definitely spring for the Anna's.

The hummingbirds have been putting on quite a show for us this summer. We have three regulars and they are very territorial. This one was guarding the feeder and sat still long enough for me to get a picture.
Hummingbirds are fascinating little birds. They are not much bigger than a bumblebee! Very challenging to photograph too!
This photo was taken in Paton's backyard in Patagonia, AZ. Marion and Walley Paton lived in a humble house in Patagonia, but the home became famous beause of all the hummingbird feeders they maintaned. The Violet-crowned Humminbird, a very rare bird in the US, became a regular visitor and attracted birders from all over the country and world to view it. Although Marion and Walley have both passed away, others have carried on their legacy and keep the feeders full and the birds continue.
Hummingbird... Well, I had another opportunity to get a few quick photos of a hummingbird near my feeder. Once again, it's not the best photo of the little guy, but it ain't bad. I wish the color was better, but it was getting late and starting to get dark, so this is the best I could do. I guess it would be best to call this a silhouette. What do you think?
