I took this shot in the Santa Catarina neighborhood of Lisbon, known for its relaxed vibe, narrow streets, and creative charm. While walking through a traffic jam in the area, I came across these two guys, likely construction workers, waiting in their van. When they noticed me trying to compose a picture, I knocked on their window, and they opened it. That’s when I seized the moment and captured this shot.
in a narrow street of córdoba’s old town, beneath the iron bars and cracked white walls, a child looks up. not with fear, not even with surprise. just the calm, certain gaze of someone who knows who this man is. who always knew. and the man—helmeted, suited, framed by routine—smiles back. not because he’s seen, but because he’s recognised.
The path curved gently along the stone wall, the ocean calm beyond the breakwaters, and the jogger moved with quiet focus—just breath, stride, and the soft rhythm of sneakers on pavement. It was early, or maybe late, but the light was kind and the air carried salt and stillness. A few others lingered near the water, but this moment belonged to motion.
Later, back in the hum of routine, this run returns—not for the pace or the distance, but for the feeling. That fleeting sense of being part of the landscape, of moving through beauty without needing to capture it. Because sometimes, the best travel memories aren’t about arrival—they’re about flow.
two women sit in silence, their shadows as sharp as the mid-day light. one gestures, her finger pointing toward something unseen, while the other listens, her fur catching the sun’s warmth. the bag between them is a silent witness, holding secrets of their conversation. the pavement stretches beyond them, barren and still, while the light dances on their forms, freezing this fleeting moment into timelessness.
barcelona, one of those narrow side streets where time seems to slow down.
i saw him standing there – still, immersed, like part of the stone and shadow.
i asked for a portrait, and he agreed with a quiet nod.
then i asked him to lower his glasses,
just a little, to let the light catch those immense eyes.
now i look at these frames and still can't decide which one tells the story best.
maybe it’s not about choosing.
maybe it’s about letting them all speak.
the soft glow of the phone reflects the quiet thoughts of the man sitting alone at night. the scene is still, the city hums in the background, yet here is a moment of calm, illuminated only by a small screen. the contrast between the darkened streets and his face, bathed in light, tells the story of modern solitude.

Magic moment, expectations are high......
in a small bar in palma, the kind where the coffee is strong and the light falls softly, i saw gio. he was at a small table, hands folded, his face half-hidden in shadows. the kind of face that holds stories — of fights won and lost, of nights long past. he sat still, quiet, but the light found him. i asked to take his portrait. he nodded once. the shutter clicked, and for a moment, the room was silent. in the stillness, his gaze stayed sharp, his hands steady.
in a well-known café in palma de mallorca, two women engage in lively conversation. the gentle summer evening casts a warm glow over their animated faces as they share stories, laughter, and perhaps a touch of nostalgia. the empty cups and glasses between them speak of time well spent, the joy of connection, and the simple pleasures of life.
Sometimes, in the middle of noise and movement, there’s a smile that simply stops time.
Warm, genuine, and full of light — a reminder that beauty often hides in the simplest, most human moments.
On the path toward the construction site of the new Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, I crossed paths with these two cheerful tourists. Framed by patterned shadows and spontaneous laughter, they happily struck a pose — turning a construction barrier into their personal stage.
Sometimes, the most memorable moments aren’t part of the plan — they just happen.
A striking portrait of a young hunter against ancient rock engravings in Namibia. The interplay of tradition and history highlights the deep connection between people and their land. The strong profile, detailed textures, and golden light capture a moment that transcends time.
here, where the pulse of pollença's night gently throbs, two silhouettes share a fragment of time under the watchful eye of a lone street lamp. its light spills across the scene, touching the stark white walls of l'aturada, crafting an island of luminance in the sea of night. one figure stands absorbed in a distant conversation, her mobile phone a lifeline to another place, another's voice whispering secrets into the quiet of the darkened street. her companion waits, a silent sentinel, perhaps contemplating the quiet scene or lost in his own reverie. this picture captures an interlude in the nocturnal rhythm, a private bubble of connection amidst the public stage of an urban setting. it's a modern vignette, two lives intersecting briefly in the tranquility of a sleepy town, a contemporary portrait of human connection against the timeless backdrop of mallorcan architecture.
A compelling black and white photograph capturing two men in conversation at a traditional market stall. The image conveys a sense of everyday life and human connection.
My mother Maria passed away on Sunday, October 26, at 2:22 p.m. I was holding her hand when she left.
Beside her are my father, who died in December 2002, and my little brother Andreas, who passed away at the age of two and a half in the late 1960s.
My father set up the camera — I only pressed the shutter.
Now they are together again, at peace, where the circle gently closes.

An old soul with a youthful spirit—selling stories and goods on the streets of Krakow. The leather jacket matches his bold attitude, proving style knows no age.
Amid the crowd, one face rises—calm, steady, radiant. Her eyes don’t just meet the lens—they hold it, as if asking quietly, “Will you see me, truly?” In the heart of Kiribati, I met a group of children whose energy was boundless, whose smiles had seen both wonder and hardship. But in this moment, there was stillness. A gentle defiance in her gaze. A whisper of dreams not yet spoken. This is not just a portrait. It’s a testament to resilience, to community, to the power of presence.
There’s something quietly moving about this scene. Two elderly women, wrapped up for the breeze, dogs at their side. Two young women, fresh from the sea, still in swimsuits. A conversation unfolds between them. Words are shared across the generations on an empty stretch of sand.
What makes the image work is how this small human moment sits within the broader frame. The soft morning light, the curve of the tide, the echo of high-rise buildings receding into haze. The composition draws your eye from the sea to the skyline, but it always returns to that pocket of interaction, where warmth and curiosity fuel the conversation.
It’s an image about contrasts: youth and age, cold and swim, solitude and connection. For a moment, they all belong to the same beach, the same morning, and the same fleeting story.
beneath the arches of plaza mayor, they pause to study the hats. the late sun casts its long shadows, wrapping them in the soft glow of a madrid evening. the man, with his leather jacket catching the light, leans in with quiet curiosity. the woman stands by his side, her bright coat adding a pop of color to the scene. the hats rest like artifacts of style and tradition, waiting to be chosen. the golden hour turns this small act—window shopping—into something timeless, something worth remembering.
I met this family while walking through the Shah-i-Zinda complex in Samarkand. They were sitting quietly on a bench beneath a wall covered in beautiful tiles, full of color, patterns, and intricate detail.
I asked if I could take their photo, and they kindly agreed to pose for me. It wasn't a candid moment, but there was something honest and warm about it.
In places like this, it's not just the architecture that stays with you — it's the people you meet along the way.
They stood close, shoulder to shoulder, the weight of the world hidden behind curious stares. One stepped forward—half a smile, full of light. The others lingered in shadows, eyes catching the lens like echoes of untold stories. This moment isn’t posed. It’s witnessed. A portrait of quiet resilience and togetherness.
in the dim glow of palma’s old town, this fleeting moment tells a quiet story. a mother veers one way, her child darts the other, and their dog, blissfully unconcerned with either, pauses for its own business against the wall. three paths, three purposes, intersecting for just a moment under the warm glow of the street lanterns. this small, unscripted scene holds a gentle humor and subtle poetry, reminding us how even the mundane can be deeply human and full of charm.
outside a club in portals, i came across this man—cigarette in hand, lost in thought. with the glowing bokeh of the night as a backdrop, he seemed almost like a character pulled straight from a noir film. a fleeting moment of quiet amidst the lively chaos, caught in the glow of streetlights and conversation.

This photo was taken near De Munt / La Monnaie, in the heart of Brussels. It wasn’t planned, and lighting or shadow play no role here. It captures a friendly face and a spontaneous moment of connection.
The man was sitting on a public bench, phone in hand, smiling and chatting as I passed by. I asked to take his picture, and he immediately leaned in with a big, characterful grin. Nothing staged here — just a real moment and a genuine expression.
Such encounters make walking around with a camera truly worthwhile.
It was supposed to be a carefree splash in the Hawaiian surf—just a boy, the waves, and the golden light of a perfect beach day. But the ocean has its own rhythm, and a mother’s instinct kicks in hard.
As a large wave breaks, she lunges, clutching her son with a grip born of love and fear. He stumbles, surprised more by her panic than the breaking surf itself, and the moment turns from playful to protective in a heartbeat.
Later, they laugh about how she nearly tackled him in waist-deep water, how he insisted he was fine, how the undertow never stood a chance against maternal reflexes. It became one of those stories: retold over dinner, remembered in quiet moments, tucked into the scrapbook of family lore.
Because sometimes, the most enduring travel memories aren’t the postcard-perfect ones—they’re the messy, human ones that remind us how fiercely we love, even when the surf is gentle.

Before words, before breath, there is a reach.
A tiny hand, searching instinctively for life, warmth, and love.
In this fragile moment, the story of existence begins — written not in ink, but in touch

the old town in palma breathes in stories and exhales memories. in the quiet of a narrow street, a barber works with the precision of decades etched into his hands. through the glass, you see him, framed by bottles and tools, his white coat glowing like a relic of another time. the soft snip of scissors, the weight of a warm towel—these are the sounds and textures of a world that still holds on. behind the glass, time slows, and tradition whispers.

captured at parque del mar in palma, this shot brings a touch of color to a quiet urban moment. the vibrant, rainbow-colored umbrella instantly draws the eye, contrasting beautifully with the calm, muted tones of the surrounding landscape. a man sits, seemingly lost in thought, while a woman in the background stands by the water, both absorbed in their own worlds. the image plays with perspective and space, inviting the viewer to explore the layers of the scene and find beauty in the simplicity of everyday life.
In a remote village in Sabah, Malaysia, two young children share a moment of joy and curiosity. The older child leans over a wooden boat, his bright smile capturing the playful spirit of childhood, while the younger one peeks out with a look of wonder. This black-and-white photograph highlights the simplicity and resilience of life in this remote Malaysian village.
While wandering around Lisbon, I decided to focus not only on my "Urban Serendipity" project but also on capturing some street portraits. For me, this is always a challenge because it means approaching people directly. I've learned a lot about this from photographers like Jimmy Nelson and Ovidiu Selaru, who start by complimenting their subjects before asking to take their picture.
This portrait, taken in the São Paulo area, is one of my first attempts. Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing more, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on them!
While exploring the São Paulo neighborhood in Lisbon, I came across this relaxed moment. This man, enjoying a quiet break, caught my attention with his casual posture and friendly smile. With a quick nod of agreement, I captured this candid portrait, adding another layer to my series of street photography in Lisbon.
