Tribal Canoe Journeys of Pacific Northwest Native American Tribes, a significant cultural event that takes place once a year.
The Puyallup Tribe of Washington State was the host tribe for 2018 for all the Canoes sent by other tribes along the Pacific Northwest Coast. Tribes all along the coast traveled via paddling their traditional Ocean Canoes, beautiful, functional and ornate! These Canoe teams traveled from as far as Alaska, including far stretches of Vancouver Island, British Columbia and far stretches of Oregon Coast. Paddling for 4 to 6 six hours a day, some for over ten days, battling ocean current, heat and sheer physical exhaustion.
Each Canoe was fitted with a GPS Transponder and its latest position was updated in 30min intervals in the Website : paddletopuyallup.org/

For a weekend at the end of winter 2023, we took our cameras and our love for cats to Poland and went looking for Gacek, Szczecin’s Top Tourist Spot. It was our first time in the city since 2018, and we loved returning.

A visit to Ralph Court Gardens in Herefordshire.
12 amazing gardens set in the grounds of a gothic rectory.
Ralph Court is a private house, you can only visit the gardens. But there is a restaurant in the main entrance.
The house was built in 1850 for Reverend Arthur Lucton Childe. He was related to the Childe, Lacon - Childe and Baldwyn – Childe families of Kilnet Manor, Shropshire and Kyre Park, nr Tenbury Wells.
The property was designed by architect, Abraham Perkins from Worcester and was built to offer a property large enough for the reverends family and offering large formal gardens. The total cost of the neo tudor style building was £1370.
The present owners, Stephen and Paula Morgan purchased the property in 2004.

Brunn/G. gewinnt auswärts gegen Vösendorf knapp mit 0:1. Monschein sorgt mit seinem Treffer für den dritten Sieg im Jahr 2013. Auch die Hausherren finden einige Torchancen vor. Brunn/G. feiert den dritten Frühjahrssieg en suite und verfestigt damit den dritten Tabellenplatz. Heute gewinnt das Team von Trainer Robert Schiener in Vösendorf mit 0:1. "In der zweiten Halbzteit sind wir dann aber in Bedrängnis geraten", schildert der Gäste Coach.
Erste Chance nach zwei Minuten: Der ASV Vösendorf ging als Außenseiter in die Partie, begann aber stark. Der 6er Roman Magloth (2') scheiterte in einem ersten Offensiv-Versuch an Brunn Keeper Haselbauer. Auch Spielmacher Mario Kiraly (17') gab einen ersten Warnschuss in Richtung gegnerisches Tor ab. "Wir haben in den ersten 20 Minuten eigentlich ganz gut gespielt", befand Vösendorf Trainer Manfred Vetter.
Monschein trifft: Weitaus gefährlich und effektiver waren aber die Gäste aus Brunn. Nach einem Corner kam der Ball, durch einen Klärungsversuch der Vösendorf-Defensive, am 16er zu Brunn-Jungspund Christoph Monschein (20'), der sich ein Herz fasste und mit dem Spitz zum 1:0 traf. "Nach dem Führungstreffer haben wir das Spiel eigentlich kontrolliert", erklärte Brunn Coach Schiener. Beide Teams fanden noch vor dem Pausenpfiff die eine oder andere Torchance vor, am 16er war aber meistens Schluss. Vösendorf-Schlussmann Weninger (36') konnte sich einmal bei einem Schuss auszeichnen. Auf der anderen Seite schoss Kiraly (40') nur knapp am langen Eck vorbei.
Vösendorf drückt und wird durch Standards brandgefährlich: "Wir haben nach der Pause versucht, druckvoll zu spielen und hatten dann auch ein bisschen mehr vom Spiel", befand der Vösendorf Coach. Kurz nach Wiederbeginn scheiterte der eingewechselte Sonnleitner (48') aus zehn Metern und spitzem Winkel. Gessler (53') und Schramek (64') versuchten sich per Kopf, trafen aber ebenfalls nicht ins Schwarze. Die größten Ausgleichschancen hatten die Hausherren zweimal nach Corner von Kiraly. In beiden Spielsituationen (67'+72') flankte Kiraly den Eckball genau auf den Kopf von Marco Brank, der aber am heutigen Abend nur das Außennetz traf.
Aktas sieht Gelb/Rot: In den Schussminuten hatte Monschein noch die Chance, die Brunn-Führung ausubauen, der Torschüte zum 0:1 vergab aber dieses Mal. In der Nachspielzeit kam es für die Vösendorfer dann doppelt bitter: Ismet Aktas kam zu Fall und wurde vom Schiedsrichter wegen angeblicher Schwalbe mit Gelb/Rot vom Platz gestellt.
Fazit: Brunn bleibt im Frühjahr weiter siegreich und setzt sich mit diesem Erfolg auf dem dritten Platz fest. Vösendorf wird für den Aufwand in der zweiten Halbzeit 2 nicht belohnt und steht am Ende des Abends, trotz ansprechender Leistung, mit leeren Händen da.

The Fort Hill Rural Historic District, including the grouping of the Knowles and Penniman houses, with the adjacent expanse of interdependent fields and woods, represents a pattern of settlement and land division characteristic of farms on Cape Cod from approximately 1750 to 1900. This general organization of the site endured at Fort Hill from the time of Willard Knowles' death in 1786 to the end of the Knowles ownership in 1943, and is still largely visible today. The relationship illustrates a regional trend that moved from communally based farming toward family farm clusters. Prior to 1750, the idea of landschaft — houses surrounded by common fields worked communally — was prevalent. By the time that the Knowles family began to work its Fort Hill holdings in the second half of the 18th century, however, landschaft had been replaced with a new social and economic order. This new system viewed land ownership as a calculated individual investment, under which innovation was rewarded with greater profits. It was characterized by clusters of extended families who jointly farmed adjacent parcels of individually held land.
The Fort Hill Rural Historic District in Eastham, Massachusetts, possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship, and associations. The district meets National Register Criterion A and C on the local level, reflecting important patterns of land use which represent traditional agricultural practices unique to the community and the region. The district includes all of the land commonly known as "Fort Hill which was previously owned by the descendants of Willard Knowles, including the Fort Hill Road corridor, the large open fields, the Red Maple Swamp, and Skiff Hill. The period of significance extends from 1786 to 1943, when the property was under cultivation and attained its characteristic physical qualities.
