Ms. Gooner and Double With Cream tagged me for this "Under 10" thing going around Flickr. I don't usually get into these things, but I've not intentionally put off my response. Three moves in a year has submerged all my photos into some box that has not yet surfaced in our new rental. I ran across this one while I was digging through my old office stuff this morning and just about yipped for joy!
I was 11 months old in this photo. I think I was more fun then than I am now. I suspect by the time I am eighty, I will have recovered. ;-)
I'm not tagging anybody, simply because I rarely do stuff like that and I just tagged some people on my blog yesterday for another one of these... *wry grin*
So just do it if you want to - and if you have a photo handy!

Happy April Fool's Day everyone!
I have been having some issues today with all these pranks. I keep forgetting it's April Fool's, and since I'm so very gullible I just keep getting pranked over and over again. I feel like I've been getting mini heart attacks all day long. Well, it's just for fun, right?
This is a photo of my cat. I'm just kidding. I really suck at doing the pranks... Anyways, this is a "friendship bracelet" that my friend made for me and I thought it was really neat.
I correctly predict the single costliest natural ever in detail before it reportedly cost $340 billion at "June 15, 1896" epicenter magnitude "wave height" "cities hit" and casualties the now LEVEL 7 nuclear disaster site before I was tortured by police.

I remember this day clearly...was a big storm and the whole place was under a cloud of mist and drizzling...the waves were swealling at the sea and roaring like a mad animal....was only one light on in the pier....it light up as soon as the darkness set in, and all these people were coming to the pier, like fireflies attracted to that light....like shadow people to the sea...was strange, quite and mystical....

Kairos 4tet
Adam Waldmann- Saxophones
Jasper Høiby- Bass
Ivo Neame- Piano
Jon Scott- Drums
Kairos 4tet are quite simply one of the hottest bands at the moment in the UK jazz scene. One of a very few groups to bridge the elusive gap between crossover appeal and serious jazz credentials, Kairos 4tet bring a modern twist to the classic jazz quartet. Blurring the boundaries between accessible, tune-led music with heavy grooves and improvising of the highest order, this is a band whose time has come.
This gig see's the 4tet fresh out of the studio, having just recorded their 2nd studio album, "Statement of Intent" to be released on Edition Records. 2011 is going to be a big year for this group. Catch them now!
“Adam Waldmann, dedicated to the proposition that contemporary jazz can be cerebral, peaceful and yet still swing…..a classy project whose time has definitely come”
(The Evening Standard)
“A young master in the making” (Time Out 4*’s)
"Under the leadership of saxophonist Adam Waldmann, Kairos 4Tet have found a melodious medium between traditional Jazz and the forward facing nature that typifies so much young British Jazz. The band's compositions are open and accessible, but there's no compromise when it comes to intuitive, intelligent playing and adventurous arrangements" (The Mercury Prize)
"One of the most assured and melodically potent debuts of 2010" (Jazzwise)
Admission - £7/5

Oslo is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken, the northernmost Danish province. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in the year 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a kaupstad or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. After being destroyed by a fire in 1624, during the reign of King Christian IV, a new city was built closer to Akershus Fortress and named Christiania in the king's honour. It was established as a municipality (formannskapsdistrikt) on 1 January 1838. The city functioned as the capital of Norway during the 1814–1905 union between Sweden and Norway. From 1877, the city's name was spelled Kristiania in government usage, a spelling that was adopted by the municipal authorities only in 1897. In 1925 the city, after incorporating the village retaining its former name, was renamed Oslo. In 1948 Oslo merged with Aker, a municipality which surrounded the capital and which was 27 times larger, thus creating the modern, vastly enlarged Oslo municipality.
Oslo is the economic and governmental centre of Norway. The city is also a hub of Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. It is an important centre for maritime industries and maritime trade in Europe. The city is home to many companies within the maritime sector, some of which are among the world's largest shipping companies, shipbrokers and maritime insurance brokers. Oslo is a pilot city of the Council of Europe and the European Commission intercultural cities programme.
Oslo is considered a global city and was ranked "Beta World City" in studies carried out by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network in 2008. It was ranked number one in terms of quality of life among European large cities in the European Cities of the Future 2012 report by fDi magazine. A survey conducted by ECA International in 2011 placed Oslo as the second most expensive city in the world for living expenses after Tokyo. In 2013 Oslo tied with the Australian city of Melbourne as the fourth most expensive city in the world, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s Worldwide Cost of Living study. Oslo was ranked as the 24th most liveable city in the world by Monocle magazine.
As of 27 February 2020, the municipality of Oslo had a population of 693,491, while the population of the city's urban area of 4 November 2019 was 1,019,513. The metropolitan area had an estimated population of 1.71 million. The population was increasing at record rates during the early 2000s, making it the fastest growing major city in Europe at the time. This growth stems for the most part from international immigration and related high birth rates, but also from intra-national migration. The immigrant population in the city is growing somewhat faster than the Norwegian population, and in the city proper this is now more than 25% of the total population if immigrant parents are included.

Frogner Park (Norwegian: Frognerparken) is a public park located in the borough of Frogner in Oslo, Norway, and is historically part of Frogner Manor. The manor house is located in the south of the park, and houses the Oslo City Museum. Both the park, the entire borough of Frogner as well as Frognerseteren derive their names from Frogner Manor.
Frogner Park contains, in its present centre, the Vigeland installation (Norwegian: Vigelandsanlegget; originally called the Tørtberg installation), a permanent sculpture installation created by Gustav Vigeland between 1924 and 1943. Although sometimes referred to in English as the "Vigeland (Sculpture) Park," the Vigeland installation is not a separate park, but the name of the sculptures within Frogner Park. The sculpture park consists of sculptures as well as larger structures such as bridges and fountains.
The park of Frogner Manor was historically smaller and centered on the manor house, and was landscaped as a baroque park in the 18th century by its owner, the noted military officer Hans Jacob Scheel. It was landscaped as a romantic park in the 19th century by then-owner, German-born industrialist Benjamin Wegner. Large parts of the estate were sold to give room for city expansion in the 19th century, and the remaining estate was bought by Christiania municipality in 1896 and made into a public park. It was the site of the 1914 Jubilee Exhibition, and Vigeland's sculpture arrangement was constructed from the 1920s. In addition to the sculpture park, the manor house and a nearby pavilion, the park also contains Frognerbadet (the Frogner Baths) and Frogner Stadium. The Frogner Pond is found in the centre of the park.
Frogner Park is the largest park in the city and covers 45 hectares; the sculpture installation is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist. Frogner Park is the most popular tourist attraction of Norway, with between 1 and 2 million visitors each year, and is open to the public at all times. Frogner Park and the Vigeland installation (Norwegian: Frognerparken og Vigelandsanlegget) was protected under the Heritage Act on 13 February 2009 as the first park in Norway.

For many people, day-to-day life can cause a wide array of stressors or stressful situations. Sometimes, though, these mounting worries can be too much and can develop into chronic anxiety. Whether you are experiencing anxiety on a moderate or severe level, meeting with a mental health professional and talking through any issues you may be having can be extremely valuable to decreasing stress levels. As you are evaluating which professional may be right for you, you may discover both psychologists and psychiatrists. What is the difference between the two, and how do you decide which is right for you? Read on to learn more.
Psychologist vs Psychiatrist: What is the Difference?
Although the two are similar in nature of work, they have two different qualifications.Psychologists do not attend medical school to obtain a Ph.D. or PsyD, whereas psychiatrists do attend medical school, followed by a four-year residency in psychiatry. Both are trained in psychotherapy, commonly known as talk therapy.
Psychiatrists also have one main differentiating factor: they can also prescribe medication. This means that after you have explored talk therapy as an option to manage your anxiety but find you are still unable to successfully manage your symptoms, a psychiatrist can evaluate your symptoms and work with you to find a medication that can help with day-to-day life.
Which Doctor is Right for You?
So, how do you determine which medical professional is the right fit for you? First, you may want to evaluate your thoughts on medication. A psychiatrist is often helpful for people who have had experiences with anxiety or other mental health conditions in the past and know that medication is the right avenue to explore. Many people also prefer to manage their mental health through one professional that has an intimate knowledge of their background through talk therapy sessions and can have a more well-rounded understanding of anxiety or any other conditions. In these cases, a psychiatrist may be the better option.
If medication is not something you foresee yourself exploring as an option, psychologists may be a better fit. Additionally, if you happen to find psychologists that you feel is a good match, whether it be because of the relationship you’ve developed, because of he or she accepts your insurance or some other reason, and you still would like to explore the option of medication, you can often consult your primary care physician. General practice doctors are often able to prescribe antidepressants in smaller doses to treat anxiety as well as benzodiazepines for anxiety treatment on an as-needed basis.
To determine which mental health professional may be right for you, consult with your general practitioner for advice on how best to treat your anxiety and which doctor is right for you. Often, they will also have a list of trusted doctors they commonly refer to anxiety or other mental health conditions. Once you find the right fit, you’ll soon be on your way to treating your anxiety and feeling better about day-to-day-life.
