Arizona is a state in the Southwestern region of the United States, sharing the Four Corners region of the western United States with Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. Its other neighboring states are Nevada to the northwest and California to the west. It also shares an international border with the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California to the south and southwest. It is the 6th-largest and the 14th-most-populous of the 50 states. Its capital and largest city is Phoenix, which is the most populous state capital in the United States.
Arizona is the 48th state and last of the contiguous states to be admitted to the Union, achieving statehood on February 14, 1912. Historically part of the territory of Alta California and Nuevo México in New Spain, it became part of independent Mexico in 1821. After being defeated in the Mexican–American War, Mexico ceded much of this territory to the United States in 1848, where the area became part of the territory of New Mexico. The southernmost portion of the state was acquired in 1853 through the Gadsden Purchase.
Southern Arizona is known for its desert climate, with extremely hot summers and mild winters. Northern Arizona features forests of pine, Douglas fir, and spruce trees; the Colorado Plateau; mountain ranges (such as the San Francisco Mountains); as well as large, deep canyons, with much more moderate summer temperatures and significant winter snowfalls. There are ski resorts in the areas of Flagstaff, Sunrise, and Tucson. In addition to the internationally known Grand Canyon National Park, which is one of the world's seven natural wonders, there are several national forests, national parks, and national monuments.
Arizona is home to a diverse population. About one-quarter of the state is made up of Indian reservations that serve as the home of 27 federally recognized Native American tribes, including the Navajo Nation, the largest in the state and the country, with more than 300,000 citizens. Since the 1980s, the proportion of Hispanics has grown significantly owing to migration from Mexico and Central America. A substantial portion of the population are followers of the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arizona's population and economy have grown dramatically since the 1950s because of inward migration, and the state is now a major hub of the Sun Belt. Cities such as Phoenix and Tucson have developed large, sprawling suburban areas. Many large companies, such as PetSmart and Circle K, have headquarters in the state, and Arizona is home to major universities, including the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University. The state is known for a history of conservative politicians such as Barry Goldwater and John McCain, though it has become a swing state in recent years.

Navajo Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. It includes six separate, scenic slot canyon sections on the Navajo Reservation, referred to as Upper Antelope Canyon (or The Crack), Rattle Snake Canyon, Owl Canyon, Mountain Sheep Canyon, Canyon X and Lower Antelope Canyon (or The Corkscrew). It is the primary attraction of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park, along with a hiking trail to Rainbow Bridge National Monument.
The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through the (Slot Canyon) rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation. They are accessible by Navajo guided tour only.

Le lac de Serre-Ponçon est un lac artificiel situé dans les Hautes-Alpes et les Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, dans le sud des Alpes françaises. Il a été créé en 1959 par la construction d'un barrage sur la Durance à un peu moins de deux kilomètres à l'aval de sa confluence avec l'Ubaye. L'aménagement hydraulique est complété par le lac d'Espinasses situé au pied du barrage de Serre-Ponçon, à partir duquel est alimenté le canal EDF de la Durance.
L'établissement du plan d'eau nécessite le déplacement de plus de mille habitants et la destruction de plus de 400 bâtiments. Un village disparaît sous les eaux, Ubaye, qui n'est pas reconstruit. La partie la plus basse du village de Savines disparaît également mais un nouveau village est installé sur la rive du lac. Pour la première fois en France, les pouvoirs publics prennent des dispositions permettant d'indemniser les expropriés pour le préjudice subi et non seulement au titre de la valeur du bien exproprié.
Le réseau de communication est également fortement affecté et cela entraîne la construction de nouvelles routes et voies ferrées.
Achevé en 1959, l'aménagement hydraulique permet de contribuer à la régulation des crues de la Durance et à l'irrigation de la Provence tout en produisant également de l'électricité. Le plan d'eau est par ailleurs devenu un lieu touristique important pour l'économie de la région.

3 March 2016, Victoria Falls – International food standards are pivotal in enhancing commercialisation of agriculture and improving a country’s food exports. A country can boost the growth of the agro-processing sector by formulating policies that ensure adherence to international food standards. Additionally, effective food safety and quality management systems are essential not only for safeguarding the health and well-being of people but also for fostering economic development and improving livelihoods.
Representatives from Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe met in Victoria Falls (29 February – 1 March), to share country experiences and look at ways of enhancing policy formulation and adherence to international food standards. Through an FAO funded project, the Institutions’ capacities in the three countries have been developed over a one year period, to assist the three SADC countries make better use Codex standards to increase inter-regional trade and safeguard the health of their populations.

En aquest Passeig de la Fama podem veure la petjada de grans esportistes, la majoria amb el calçat del seu esport, i de tres d'ells (Mark Spitz, Manuel Estiarte o Nadia Comaneci) la petjada del seu peu descalç. Fins l'any 2014 va haver 24 plaques amb nom i la petjada assignades, i 10 més per assignar. L'any 2014 va ser retirada la petjada de Lance Amstrong després de que reconegués que es dopava.

En este Paseo de la Fama podemos ver la huella de grandes deportistas, la mayoría con el calzado de su deporte, y de tres de ellos (Mark Spitz, Manuel Estiarte o Nadia Comaneci) la huella de su pie descalzo. Hasta el año 2014 hubo 24 placas con nombre y la huella asignadas, y 10 más para asignar. En el año 2014 fue retirada la huella de Lance Armstrong tras reconocer que se dopaba.

The Dos Ojos underwater cave system was featured in a 2002 IMAX film, Journey Into Amazing Caves and the 2006 BBC/Discovery Channel series Planet Earth. Old Enemy, New Victim, a scene of hate-filled violence tempered only minimally by the grotesque comedy of a large ape being throttled and attacked by two ravenous beasts, has its source in both political fable and animal sculpture. While the impulse behind the work is clearly La Fontaine, the hyperrealist precision with which silicone and yak hair have been used to construct the animals is the product of skills acquired at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, in Michigan, and honed in the studio of Jeff Koonx, for whom Tony Matelli worked for a time as an assistant. "I'm interested in culture, not nature," the artist says. The fables that Matelli illustrates focus on the rejects of wealthy society, challengers of the social order, and victims of technological progress.

Les chantiers s'activent dans toute la France pour "gagner la bataille des communications routières". Mais outre la pénurie de main d’œuvre, il faut faire face au manque de matériaux (béton, métal) et donc déployer des trésors d'imagination pour reconstruire les ponts détruits. Si le savoir faire des tailleurs de pierre est exploité, le plus spectaculaire est le relevage des ponts, comme le pont de Galliéni à Lyon, où 7 à 800 tonnes d'acier sont sorti de l'eau avec des moyens de l'époque. En avril 1945, il reste 5 700 ponts à reconstruire soit 200 000 tonnes d'acier, 600 000 tonnes de ciment, 250 000 m3 de bois, 10 millions de journées d'ouvrier, prix de l'effort de reconstruction.

Le documentaire explique par exemple la manière dont a été réalisée la reconstruction de Saint-Malo à l'intérieur des rempart de la vieille ville : "c'est la fidélité à l'histoire et la force du souvenir qui a guidé l'architecte". Dans le même esprit à Gien, au trois quart détruite en 1940, seul le château construit en 1494 pour Anne de Beaujeu, fille aînée de Louis XI, fut épargné par les bombardements.
