16" high-density foam cube.

 

This cube was made by gluing scraps of 5" foam together, then laminating 1/2" foam on all sides.

 

As shown, this cube has a slipcover made from sheeting fabric. This protects the foam and makes it easier to put the outer cover on.

Once you're done sewing the letters to the fabric, you can attach the eyelets if you've chosen to do so. Your eyelet kit should come with directions, just follow those.
