One-car garage/shed thing that definitely would have to be torn down. It also looked like it had burned at one point.
The tree to the right was struck by lightning 25 years ago. The black "flower pots" at the front of the walkway are sewer pipes. CLASSY.
This house was kept in really good condition. It was very large. For example, there was a walk-in coat closet just off the front living room that could have been used as a sewing room or small office.
Problems with this place were: located on a very busy street, close to the most accident prone intersection in Springfield; backyard that was completely full of gravel! New garage, with doors on both sides, so you could access it from the alley, but the yard would have been a major undertaking.
This big old house was second on our list. However, a collection of problems throughout the house and suspect electrical and furnace systems decreased its value. Also listed a little high considering all the problems. Maybe we could have talked the seller down, but after finding our place (which was basically move-in ready) we stopped considering this home. Definitely will be a good value to someone who has the money and time to do the work, and if the price comes down. IMO, this 2300 sq. ft. place should sell for about $115k in its current state.
House in Newtown, Sydney we have made an offer to buy pending favourable building inspection and final finance approval.
