looking back up, after going to the top & taking some shots on the way I decided to take a few when we got back to the bottom.
I spotted this coyote with its mate a few minutes earlier while driving a back road near Banff, AB. We followed them as best we could along this road. Took this shot which turned out to be the best of the coyote hunt. I like the openess of the forest here.

A panoramic photo of beautiful Salmon Bay on Rottnest Island in Western Australia; unbelievably the beach was almost deserted. The Wadjemup Lighthouse can be seen across the bay on the far shore.
Rottnest Island is 18 kilometres (11 mi) off the Western Australian coast, very slightly north of due west from Fremantle. It is called Wadjemup by the Noongar people, meaning "place across the water". The island is 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) long, and 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) at its widest point. Rottnest Island has been a popular local holiday destination for over 50 years. The Western Australian vernacular diminutive is "Rotto". No private ownership of land is allowed. The island was given the name "Rotte nest" (meaning "rat nest" in the 17th century Dutch language) by Dutch captain Willem de Vlamingh who spent six days exploring the island from 29 December 1696, mistaking the quokkas for giant rats.
I came across this stream that as you can see was crystal clear. I only wished I didn't have such bright light from the sky to compete with. Still I like the way it turned out with all the rocks in the stream looking like a path through the forest.

Was a bit of a grey and windy start to the morning at Southwold in Suffolk. Had a few shots down on the beach, but even though the weather was quite mild, was pretty cold in the wind and the light was really flat. Decided to get set up and take shetler out of the wind on the pier. After a few thimbles of coffee, the cloud thinned out in the east and got a few minutes of nice light hitting the sea front. Going to have to get a decent sized flask or a cup which is bigger than a childs tea set, any suggestions?

World Heritage Listed - Lord Howe Island
Lord Howe Island is known as "The Last Paradise" and not without some considerable justification.
The coral surrounding the island and in the lagoon is the furthest southern coral in the world apart from some coral around Balls Pyramid 20km South East of Lord Howe.
With global warming seriously threatening the very existence of Australia's Great Barrier Reef it looks as if Lord Howe will be a last refuge for coral reefs as we know them today.
There are legally limited numbers of cars residents and visitors to World Heritage listed Lord Howe and the only way to get around is on foot or by bicycle or boat.
Accommodation is limited so costs are comparatively high.Nevertheless the natural beauty of this magnificent paradise make every dollar spent well worthwhile.
At least 10 days is needed to actively explore the island and you will need every bit of that time as every day starts early and ends late,and you will be a whole lot fitter by the time you jump reluctantly back on the plane home.

Three miles of the highest quality beach with fine golden sand and sparkling clean waters. The spectacular Sandbanks Peninsula forms part of Poole Harbour, Europe’s largest natural harbour.
Had my first trip to the Lake District at the weekend and was blown away by the beauty. Gorgeous scenes and great light wherever you looked. Looking forward to getting back.

One of my dreams come true was catching the sunrise at the ancient temples of Angkor and it definitely did not disappoint. It was fascinating to imagine all the movement and activity experiencing during the Khmer Buddhist empire which swept across South East Asia with its heart here within the unique and masterfully carved mountain temples.

Numa Falls is located on Highway 93 between Banff and Radium Hot Springs in Kootenay National Park. It is a very picturesque spot right off the highway.

Porthminster Beach is just one of five beautiful sandy beaches within St Ives, which is why there are few rivals for the crown of Cornwall's best beach town.
I sat here for about an hour waiting for the first light of the morning sun. I liked the subtle colour in this pic.
