The air has recently turned cooler, and with it so have my thoughts of hues of orange, gold, and crimson. The rustling of leaves and smell of campfires in the distance - sights and sounds that cannot get here soon enough!

The croci are all that's blooming so far (well, except for some chickweed), but shoots are starting to break the ground, so there's more green around. Nighttime temperatures for at least the next ten days will be above freezing, which will be a most welcomed change. I'm eager to see how many of the bulbs I planted last fall will sprout.

Just a couple leaves have turned on the bushes around Grand Avenue on CP's main line west out of Milwaukee, where retro 7016 wheels a manifest through the curves headed east/south- this train had no work to do at Muskego Yard.
you can just about make out some hint of color from the sunset last evening as the storm blew past us. The lake was fairly choppy and the wind would not let up.

The weather in Amsterdam is a colder than the weather at home in NJ. Already there is a hint of color in the trees.
Bruneck - Stadtgasse
Dieses Stadttor öffent sich ungefähr auf mittlerer Höhe der Stadtgasse gegen Norden und ermöglichte den Zugang zum "Plarer", der Gegend zwischen dem mit Wasser gefüllten Stadtgraben und der Rienz. Dort standen die Futterhäuser, die jenen Bürgern gehörten, die Landwirtschaft betrieben. Das Tor hat seinen Namen von einer Floriani-Statue, die einst einen Brunnen zierte, der in der Floriani-Gasse stand. "Lucke" oder "Schlipfturm" waren zwei alte Namen für dieses Tor.
As the setting sun skillfully tap dances on portions of a dilapidated barn, glimpses of its past service are recognized through the broken siding. In a circle of older men, heavily calloused hands, gradual loss of hearing, strong arms and a quiet spirit are all subtle hints of an old farmer.
29 September 2018: Long exposure as the morning sunlight hits the mountain side at Raquette Lake in the Adirondack Mountains, NY.
The cloud filled sky was pretty awesome on this morning as I stood on the bridge at the causeway of Raquette Lake. The light was great in both directions (east and west) and I kept moving from side to side to capture the magic. I only got one shot of this moment before the sun went behind the clouds again.
