Smyrnium olusatrum in a laneside hedgebank at Higher Cofford, Starcross, Devon, England.
A long naturalised introduction from southern Europe in hedge banks, road verges, cliffs and rough grassland, usually close to the sea, especially in southern England. It is abundant in South Devon lane hedgebanks.

In the 18 years since its establishment, around 1,500 students have graduated from the School to study at leading national and international institutions.
Today, our alumni students are serving as doctors, nurses, engineers, managers, principals, teachers, entrepreneurs and officers in the Armed Forces.
AKHSS, Gilgit has a well-qualified and experienced faculty who each hold a Master’s degree from an accredited university. Police clear the plant gates of striking workers outside the Celanese Corporation in Cumberland Maryland November 17, 1936.
The workers had maintained blockades prohibiting the movement of people and goods in or out of the plant without permission from strike headquarters.
More than 9,000 predominantly women workers began the plant-wide strike for higher wages, better working conditions and union recognition November 12th.
The management of the plant brought a number of supervisory employees into the strike-bound plant and attempted to move product out through the rail link. Several clashes with plant guards and police resulted in a number of injuries and arrests during the strike.
Three weeks into the strike, an agreement was reached raising wages and recognizing the Textile Workers of America Local 1874—making it the largest unit in the textile union.
The campaign for the union produced a young activist named George A. Meyers who helped lead the in-plant organizing and led a number of sit-down strikes within the plant. He would go on to become president of the local union and, in 1941, president of the Maryland and District of Columbia Industrial Union Council of the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO).
Meyers joined the Communist Party during the fight to organize the union at Celanese and as president of the MD-DC CIO, led the fight to integrate basic industry—overseeing the successful efforts to integrate the Celanese and Kelly-Springfield plants in Cumberland, Glen L. Martin aircraft factory in Middle River and the Bethlehem-Fairfield shipyard in Baltimore.
Efforts throughout World War II by the CIO to desegregate jobs within the Bureau of Engraving in federal government and the Capital Transit Company in Washington, D.C. were waged in earnest but were ultimately less successful. The CIO also played a key role in the fight against police brutality in the District of Columbia in 1941.
After World War II, the onset of the cold war led to the expulsion of Communist Party members from most unions, including the Textile Workers.
Meyers went to jail for 3 ½ years for his membership in the Communist Party in the 1950s but went on to head the Party’s labor activities until his death in 1999.
The Celanese plant at its peak employed 13,000 workers producing materials made from synthetic fiber and closed in 1983.

Newman University, Birmingham.
Seen on Genners Lane in Bartley Green.
Originally called Newman College of Higher Education, the institution changed its name to Newman University College in 2008. In 2013 it was awarded full university title and became Newman University.
The university is named after the 19th century religious figure Cardinal Newman, who had strong links with the city of Birmingham, through being an Oratorian and a member of the Birmingham Oratory.

This is an experimental level I made showing how you can expand the play area in Mekorama by 15 blocks at each side - and also upwards! The player isn't able to move if too high, but a bit higher than normal and he gains special powers, such as being able to walk over slopes!
Thanks to Denis Nazin on the Mekorama forums for showing how to go beyond the normal game limits.
It is not uncommon to see trees in the Oregon Coast Range that appear to be growing the roots above ground. This is what a mature nursing tree, or stump looks likes. The original Nursing Tree or stump has rotted away, but the existing tree has anchored itself down and can stand on its own, even when a large portion of its root system is above ground.

Fuerza Wayra NYC is a show that can't be defined in one category. Hailing from South America, the show is a mix of dance, live music, acrobatics and theater. It can be closely described as a wilder, more vibrant version of Cirque De Soleil. In this part of the show, performers are lifted above the ceiling on plastic tarp held aloft by huge industrial fans. There is also a harness attached to their bodies to carry the weight.
