a Thursday night Cruise-in in Furniture store parking lot off hwy311.

We bushwhacked off the Guindani Saddle to a highpoint on the mountain the trail loops around. This was the highest elevation we reached on the hike.

It looks much different in late afternoon light. Because the sun was now behind the Mt. Whitney massif, much of the hike down in the afternoon was in shadow -- a real blessing as it got warmer on the descent.
