We camped out last night on the side of Greylock after bagging RI and CT high points. The next morning we drove up and over the high point in MA. I had already completed this high point while hiking the AT.
The Worcester to Hereford line built up above the surrounding countryside because of the River Teme flooding into the surrounding meadows, which happens all to frequently these days.

The south slope of Mount Frissell in the town of Salisbury and historic Litchfield County includes the highest natural elevation (2,380') in the state of Connecticut. This is the trailhead from Mount Washington Road. The first few hundred yards are deceptively easy. This snapshot was taken on Wednesday, 24 July 2013.
