The summit of Mount Washington is an adventure any way you choose to ascend it. Once you're up there, it's still an adventure as the weather is most likely not your friend. It was about 80 degrees F and partly cloudy down below. Up here it was 50, foggy, and very windy.
He was mortified that I was taking a picture of him as he was flossing his teeth while we stood in line to get baseball tickets, but I can't help it.
The south slope of Mount Frissell in the town of Salisbury and historic Litchfield County includes the highest natural elevation (2,380') in the state of Connecticut. The highpoint is marked by the green pipe in this photograph. The pipe also marks the state line between Connecticut (lower) and Massachusetts (higher). This snapshot was taken on Wednesday, 24 July 2013.
We camped out last night on the side of Greylock after bagging RI and CT high points. The next morning we drove up and over the high point in MA. I had already completed this high point while hiking the AT.
